My heart nearly stopped when you said "I spent nearly 15-20", and i thought you were about to say minutes. Thankfully it was hours. Beautiful artwork!
Thanks! First sketch to blocking in some shapes in colours might have taken 20 min. But painting takes time.
Its so stylised but also so realistic Idk what to say .... I like that you dont go for line art I just love it
This is Anime Background
its good to not do line art sometimes because you can stay more loose and change things as you go
the trick simply is:
1. realistic lighting
2. well controlled shapes and markmakings (not too small but blocky enough to keep it stylized)
3. slightly saturated colours
4. Lineart

Thank you for sharing the steadily ❤️🙏
Thank you for the walkthrough of this painting! Landscapes usually give me a hard time. From workflow to color choice, so seeing your process was very helpful!
Ahh yes, just what I needed this Monday morning. Thanks Olof
I mostly paint characters, but I really want to get into painting environments! I have such a hard time knowing what to do and how to do it, this process was so nice to watch, thank you!
A wonderful look into your process, and a great end result. Thanks!
Hi there olof sir.
It's me from Instagram. It's like you created this lil tutorial for me. I was so happy when I saw this. Now I know the basics of painting. Thanks allot. 🙏🙏🙏
that's your art make me excited again to paint background for my self project animation asset. Many thank's to you anyway. Good job.
Yes I agree strongly-I hate doing backgrounds…but this is a style I’ve long awaited to learn! Thank you for this, it will definitely improve my own process
You're such an inspiration to me as a fellow artist. I've learned so much from you and get excited every time you post something new! ❤️
fav artist of all
I love how it was
Thanks for another great video. More background work please. Love your style and use of light in your paintings.
Oh man this is so inspiring... I can get used to a daily videos!
The final result is Just crazy
incredible! Thank you so much for showing us your color picking process was very helpful :D
It's very relaxing to see your tutorials and how you made very simple and easy. Lots of love bro thank you for sharing 😍
nice editing. i really enjoyed how you filmed where you got your inspiration and hearing your thought process.
Awesome! Thanks!
Beautiful Olof! Just *BEAUTIFUL* !!
Thanks!
This video is so calming and I'm loving this format!
Thanks! Glad to hear it!
I love your videos, Olaf - truly inspirational. As with so many people, I'd love to make my own feature film one day but budget prevents me from proceeding with it. However, making an animation instead IS doable and you've shown us the way. Thank you. One thing I noticed from this video is how much time is taken sampling/changing the colours of your brushes. An idea that might help people speed up the process a bit more is to create a palette swatch on and an extended area off the side of your canvas - they don't have to be individual colour swatches, they can be ribbons of colour/value that you can sample from using the colour picker tool.
As usual obsessed with your work!!
You are awesome. I just loved every bit of the master touch you gave to the BG. Take care of those precious hands of yours!
This is so amazing, your work is always very inspiring, keep it up

Very helpful video. I love your style and your approach to making the piece.
What an underrated channel, you deserve way more views than this.
Keep up the excellent work man, it inspires many artists out there like me ^~^
Ey it would we would be really cool if you can make a video about finishing a whole painting. I don't have a problem painting trees or boxes or roofs but I can't paint a whole thing. And another one would be how to find references. Your videos are amazing man!
Wow, so beautiful! I'm trying to get better at background drawings

Great video as always, how much time does it take in total to draw this masterpiece.
Thanks! I mentioned it in the video, but I spent somewhere between 15-20h on it
It looks so good!
Olof, If I may sugest you can open the color window (F6) and chage it´s mode to HSB
will help a lot for choosing your colors.
and to text your values faster, you can set Color
Prof Setup > Custom > Working Grey and use Ctrl+Y to alternate btwen color and b&w. :D
what brush are you using when you're doing colors?
5:52 bro just casually called sleeping in a van "camping in the wild" lol. but great vid!

This is a fantastic video! I'm curious what resolution or canvas size you work with for a painting like this? I never know where to start with that. Thanks!

so nice...what is your brush name in this video?
This is awesome. After painting, did u use any of the Photoshop blend mode to achieve a photo realistic image?
Thanks. Not sure what you mean. This is just painted.
@@OlofStorm okay... Perhaps, I didn't pay close attention to the painting process. Thanks for the reply. I've really been learning a lot from your videos.
❤
Nice one dude

Do u have any books I could study on perspective? I’ve look at a lot of tutorials on here and nothing is clicking for me. Just like to make sure my paintings or sketches are not off and give them some depth. Lately I’ve just been free hand because I don’t get ( have never got) that horizon line 1,2,3 point perspective stuff . 🤷🏽♀️
which brush did u used ? can u plz tell ;] and aslo can we download your brushes
does photoshop have those kinds of brushes already or do i need to get them from somewhere?
The two I was using here are Dave Grecos brushes. Which you can get from his gumroad for 3 dollars. But you can make your own ps brushes too. And there are many free packs out there I am sure.
Is their a similar brush u used at the beginning i can download in clip studio assets?
Which drawing tablet you used for work ......plzzzzz reply 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Wacom critique pro 24 inch. But have used smaller cintiques and non display tablets throughout my career.
I love your art and your content, you're a big inspiration in my artwork actually
