  • A cs2 game sense guide where I talk about problem solving and the myriad of outcomes CS2 has to offer. Game sense hasn't really been discussed in the cs2 community, therefore this cs2 guide isn't your typical tips and tricks video... It's something that will elevate your thought process to a habitual and mindful way to approach CS2.

Criminally underrated channel. Keep it up bud. My worst problem right now is just overthinking my aim, I know it's decent, I just cave to pressure and tense uo in game. Might be another interesting topic, those that can frag out in DM but whiff city when you're holding a site.

I think my favorite aspect of game sense is when I am in the clutch. You know you have no one else to rely on and you just have to piece together the remaining info and come up with a plan in a very short amount of time. Feels the most like chess to me and it is somewhere I typically excel. 1v2 is somewhere I feel like I thrive.

I would love to see a video on what I call "the art of pugging." I feel like this is a complicated and essential skill that is often lost on new & intermediate players. I learned this concept on my own as a PUGged ESEA and later Faceit back in the day. Personally, it allowed me to get to high ranks by solo q many times, even as an aggressively mediocre aimer.
I would describe this as a combo of teamwork, learning meta, communication/ vocabulary, and mindfulness that allows for [maximizing] the most of your team of randos. Essentially, it is the ability to modify your gameplay to fill the gaps within your team. For example, when your team needs direction, become the IGL; when your coms are low, ask the right questions; when your teammate is on a tear, set him up; when your teammates are aggressive play a support role/ throwing util; when your team is passive, having plays to make space.
I think a lot of this comes down to a mindset and learning "pugging vocabulary." For example, the names of standard utility (see Mahone's History of videos) different strategies (contact, walk out, pop, rush, fake, seesaw) and the combo of them both.
It also comes down to a mindset where you understand your team as a group of fast-paced problem-solving. This goes hand in hand with learning concepts and ways to express them quickly and efficiently. The art of pugging is about placing yourself in front the team, making fewer mistakes, and knowing when you have to step up to win the game!
Furthermore, its about understanding team culture. Beyond being kind and muting toxic teammates, I have been fortunaate enough ot PUG in both NA and EU, and found there are clear differences in how different pugging cultures play! In NA we love to "run it down" with fast, utiliy based stratagies out of spawn. But I found in EU, there was an empahsis on positioning and slow map control. Never have I ever walked up cat on Mirage in a 3v3 with 20 seconds left until I played with Russians! Of course there is a mix of both of these in both regions, but being able to adapt to different styles that I was unacustomed to def pushed my pugging skills to the max.
I would love to see you take on this concept. To me, it seems like the perfect sequel to your Gamesense video. And it's a great concept to know!

I actually really enjoyed the chess analogy, I have a buddy who's newer to CS he's only got like 400 hours and wasn't a PC gamer growing up so he's always saying he's trash but he's played way too much chess and did use to watch CS so for someone who's only been playing for like a year his game sense is leagues better than when I was at his hour count😅 now he just needs to practice his aimin and we'll be gamin

Nice video! Regarding what you said about formulating a plan based on the enemies' weakness (e.g. Trying to catch the rotating players off guard): I think you could've delved deeper into the individuals' decision making in addition to thinking of it as a group decision. Sometimes you just don't have the time to make up a plan, and you just need to act.
For example, when you are playing default 1-3-1 on T side, the thing the lurkers/extremity players need be able to do is react when needed - based on intuition. Intuition is obviously hard to practice, but watching demos for example help a ton.

I prefer to play reactive on the first few rounds and it's easier to do that as CT. As time goes on and I got the gist of each player of my enemies, I start doing proactive occasionally to catch them off guard.

I really wouldnt recommend to play chess against bots because if youre not playing against a perfect bot they are programmed to make mistakes and often no human would make those mistakes on the other hand you cant learn from the perfect bot because often the ideas behind their moves are too sofisticated to understand(for example random king moves)

  • @kkd0099
    @kkd0099 3 місяці тому +1

i think you are smart enough to not oversimplify cs, many times we see cts trying to be proactive yet they die early round, opening a site while trying to "get information" .... sometimes information early round is really not important or required at all...
have u looked at statistics about the win percentage for ct's after a plant cancellation? and a plant cancellation, even though not trivial, is not impossible to setup in any kind of round...
more than information, what really is valuable is the capability of your team to finally set each ally up to win their gun fight...
also the chess analogy is meh,,, that mindset is valuable if you want to become a coach maybe but not really useful for avg mm player imo
i was excited when u announced the video yet im dissapointed now
