Night vision is made for community map (editor made map) that is made to be extremely dark that you cant only use a flashlight to see them
Snowballs, they actually deal damage, but LESS, try play it on FWS community server, because you can see how much damage
You are limited on building turrets, dispenser, supply, and teleporters are limited by 1, so you can only build one of different building types
Tesla Coil projectile follows where your crosshair is at, also the it homing at enemies
Some other arena items like armors makes you less vulnerable, like light armor which is little bit useless, a normal armor that also little bit useless, heavy armor that makes you feel like beaten by a cat, super armor (you know what it means), is the worst but best item ever made because its unfair that you or your enemy only deals TINY DAMAGE WITH NORMAL WEAPON, stealth armor which is kinda based from spy tf2? except you cant deactivate it, and finally, the medic armor that heals you for 10 every 1 second
one note, most of the community actually waiting for a big update for cs2d because they only get fixes to the game (that is useful)
at least we got a Tesla Coil which is kinda more overpowered than flamethrower from the last update, except the sprites are same like laser
I played this game for years in my childhood (5 years or more). I was a modder, and I can say that was not nearly as comprehensive as the developper DC made it sound in the comments. That was barely 60% at most. The golden era was when there was at least 300 players online at once. It was cra-zy.

@@Botix330 Yeahh, like a full on RPG tibia game with moving monsters, drop items, levels and missions. Or roleplay with weapon/armor shops, money system and exchange system (+ police, jobs, death..). Or a ninja town that imitates minecraft with actual (pretty graphic) ninjutsu skills, upgrades, etc. Or a fking fullon jail and terrorists have to escape in ANY WAY possible. There was also monster escape (where all sides have to cooporate in a limited time to successfully win the game), or amongus, and murder mystery as well. The CTF is massively underrated in this video tbh, with the construction ability, the game often takes hours to finish like a game of rope where both sides keeps pulling the rope which takes massive skill and team cooperation.
The real fun in this game is in the creativity of the playerbase and diversity of the servers, not just shooting each other for 10 rounds and calling it a day. Kinda like roblox in some way but in 2D, in different mechanics and completely different kind of players...

your own server, maybe through a clan, and used a HLTV software to operate your server. rcon password was
something you got in touch with on the daily basis. good old gamers irc times.

cs1.6 & cs2d were my childhood
Yeah. Played this in 2006 in high school. It was a small file, so we put all the game files in the Microsoft word file, renamed as "bin.exe". I only ever played on LAN
A friend and I installed half life into a few machines and nearly got expelled. It was the hight of "games made my child murderous". So parents went mental when they found out their kids were playing something gory at school. Fail
Night vision was a thing in 1.6 and CSS. Always bought it when trolling and loved it

Thats crazy I used to play alot when I was a kid, rpg maps with wings and etc, laser maps and construction maps, there was so many people playing too. Loved it.
I still remember when I used to make mod's for it back in 2005.
I didn't made too much with it, but my favourite stuff was when I reskinned the whole game with pacman and ghosts, made a recreation of pacman layout, and filled the level with grenades.
It doesn't sound like a big deal, but I had months worth of fun with those silly tweaks and even released it online.
The mod is no longer compatible with modern windows, but I still have few videos about it on a secondary channel.

The reason Conter Strike has no "MODS" button in the menu is because it is the mod!! Half-Life is the original one and had plenty of mods as well as a mod entry in the menu (at least after installing the first one). CS was "just" a mod in the beginning. Played the very first betas when you could rush in the beginning of a round and grab the guns from the previous round because they were still there :-) good old times...
CS2D and other old versions of CS are being rediscovered, this makes me happy.

I used to play the hell out of CS2D, the custom maps and mods were always amazing stuff like zombies, jailbreak,escape maps and such were always popular.

upon watching the video guy mentions cs 2D never heard or seen it and i have been playing CS before 1.6 and before there was any steam app. cs 1.6 comes with Steam app so idk why this guy says CS2D is second oldest CS game which is untrue.
