Even tho I am with 7K hours and some of the things you are saying are coming naturally to me, I must admit you made me conscious about so many mistakes in my play style. Especially the part with the "active vs inactive". I don't know why in 90% of the time I am on autopilot or I just overthink so much that I become useless baiter or saver. I just peek things or try to make myself useful by dying and giving info while fooling myself that I am useful. I must really work on that aspect of my game. I am too passive and I am too predictable which makes me easy to outplay.

I figured i make the same mistake against higher elo players (2500+) and me (2100) and basically I think its better to always have a plan practising the plays u want to do before the match on all the maps is crucial that way u not only have a plans and back up plans u can also spot some weak positions on the map that u can exploit and kill them

hey Wilson, I am here to send you a BIG appreciation for this video. I had been hard stuck in lvl9 to 2.1k elo for the past 5 months and frustrated for my own progress but this video help me to realized that I need to think more, I had been playing in the worse way "basically I play all my games base on my "survival instinct", first hand info, and just my aims" for my faceit. I will rewatch this video every 2 days and take notes until I had a good degree of making decent acceptable decisions in my elos. I wish to see this video sooner bro.

Have been playing and following this game and contents from UA-camrs since 2017. I have to say, this video is right up there with some of the OG videos from warowl in terms of how informative it is. Very well structured, felt like a good lecture! Havent come across any content focusing this well on condensing game sense to tangible goals and actions. Definitely one of the videos I will recommend to friends new to the game! The part about autopilot really hits even after playing thousands of hours and realising that I could be more efficient in learning just by observing more, and not just "seeing". A very helpful video for new and old players alike IMO.😊 Cheers!

It's a good point about making decisions. There have been times when I've been caught in that limbo of multiple options and find myself literally walking back and forth, ping ponging between decisions. Meanwhile, I'm not helping the team. If I had committed to a decision, even if it was wrong, at least there's a chance to be helpful.

9:45 I have a minimap rule I copied from, guess what, a valorant player.
If your gun CANNOT shoot, ALWAYS* look at the minimap.
    Knife out rotating? Minimap.
    Reloading your gun? Minimap.
    Pulling out util? Minimap.
    Staring at a smoke? Minimap.
Second in line, not exposed to danger? Yeah, even that is minimap time
If you find yourself lacking map awareness, try to build this habit whenever you play a game. You'll be surprised at how quickly you can place your team and the enemy.
*Obviously there are situations where you can't shoot but should look at what's ahead of you (e.g. in between AWP shots while getting rushed). It's still a good rule of thumb.

    • @dr1ppyy334
      @dr1ppyy334 10 місяців тому +5

im going to come into here and say this aswell, your minimap is actually your biggest info gatherer but also your biggest detriment, do not rely on the minimap. and alot of these points while good in certain situations are likely to get you killed, the best time to look at the minimap is 1. while you hear gunfire and youre in cover 2. when you see someone has gotten a kill wether it be from a teammate or not

    • @Maschine_Elf
      @Maschine_Elf 10 місяців тому

Good advice but could easily become a bad habit. If im staring at a smoke its because im waiting for it to dissipate or somebody come out of it,util out im still watching out of my peripherals for somebody rushing me, etc.

Thank you Wilson for making this great video and also a huuuuuuge shoutout for touching the topic of minimap. Many guides don't mention the importance of minimap. It is the most useful and reliable tool in the game. There are many ways to utilize it the things i like to do with it
    1. Always keep an eye on the minimap it helps you see where your teammates are playing which area is covered and what potential weaknese you have in the map
    2. If your teammate die somewhere you can easily check where the enemy was using minimap
    3. It will always give you correct position about the enemy even though the enemy will change his position you'll have a good idea where he might go
    4. You can spam common angles using the minimap if you're smoked just bind the radar zoom for full zoom and you can get an idea where to spam using your position in the minimap. If you succeed 2 or 3 times you'll get a report 😉 and nothing feels better than enemy calling you cheater
Don't forget to bind two radar sizes one for the zoomed out so you can see whats happening on the map ( you can use tab too but the scoreboard might block your vision and you might die due to timing) and the other bind for zoomed in so you can easily spam, check your position in smoke, dive down vent easily in nuke, know exactly where the bomb is etc. It will take some time to read each map but when you fully understand it you won't get killed in rotation that often

Love the video something i do notice is even when there is no cheaters in a game of cs matchmaking a lot of players just play weird... (im 13k elo for refrence)
Switching to faceit has been a big jump for me but im loving it, having all players in the game play somewhat "normal"

Very good video. One of the last things you said about making a decision is very important, I f*** hate when ppl take a kill and just keep sitting in the same spot. WTF you got a kill take the space and push forward.
For all the new players watching - all of this is just the basics, there are a lot of layers on top of that, fakes on top fakes on top fakes. (for example I defusing bomb when a lot of time still left, as he said in the video the terrorist will think its just a fake, but I will stick it because he wouldn't expect it)

what ive played around with in wingman (vertigo) is creating fake habits to throw them off so as Ts well go quiet stairs and then rush mid and repeat a couple rounds of solidifying that were only rushing and making noise for mid and shifting stairs and then do the opposite of that. that way youre revealing your playstyle round by round only sacrificing some rounds but still being aware of it

Man what a great video ! I have been playing CS for longer that I can even remember lol. But we tend to forget about the structure of this game we all love and play a countless amount of hours. ! Thanks for reminding us about the "advanced basics" :) I have like 4.3k hours in the game and need to be more focus on thinking, but not to much in order to improve my gameplay even more. I'll try to reflect more structurally like I should in my next games ! Take care sir !

My last match someone said "it's A, you should listen to the guy who has 3k hours" and then it was B, which I wanted to hide in and we lost the match because of a crucial gun round against ecos.

"just play the game" doesn't apply to some people because it's possible to play without paying much attention to what happens in a game. i noticed i had this problem because i cared too much about my rank, and too little on the process of improving. now the game looks very different that i am noticing what happens in a game, which is more fun than what it used to be; just running around to get a kill and wait in boredom for the round to end

Great video. I disagree with the part where you'd assume it's a fake or not, because pros don't fake.

Yeah I was deciding between drawing on minimaps vs flying around in game and though in game would be more engaging. There def was a better way to do it

one thing i saw in a video that someone said is to use your REAL LIFE BRAIN. for cs. not your cs brain. analyze a situation and figure out how to overcome it. just like you would do at work, school, etc

2 things I'm going to takeaway with this video...
    1. Start playing the game and learn to build a best case scenario 'map' in my head of where I think the enemy are based on my team mates location.
    2. Don't feel like a dickhead for choosing the best case scenario, like stacking a bomb site to defend, when in a 3 Vs 5 situation. There's always a possible good side that can be applied if they don't choose the bomb site you're stacked on.
Bonus point... 3. The enemy is most likely going to be where I would. So stick to your guns (pun intended) and choose that portion of the map to aim towards. Trying to clear the whole map will get you killed.

Any advice for Solo-Premier players is always a big deal, thanks! The comparison of low/high ELO defaults is very interesting. As a proud 3k I can confirm the mirage A stack lol!
