Very informative video, thanks! I want to learn to do 'tweeners' because I like to return as many shots as possible. So knowing how to do a tweener is a practicality for me. I'm going follow your instruction step by step. Thanks again. Todd in Dublin
Thank you very much for this incredible video which is very entertaining, skillful, exiting. Tweener is a masterpiece in tennis game and you explained vividly..I enjoyed it and dare to attempt tweener encouraged by you.
You done a video for the perfect tennis forehand using the Eastern grip. Are you able to do this video using the semi western grip which is the most common grip, great videos by the way
I would not so much emphasize on using the wrist because this shot is sort of an advanced shot. Beginners to intermediate developing players will have difficulty controlling with the wrist. When I learned this shot, my coach told me to keep the racket high, close to your ear and hit it with a firm hand. In fact, he told me not to use the wrist because then it becomes a risky shot. It might look like the top pros are using their wrist, but the correct way is actually not to use it. Also, you forgot to mention how to hit the ball at contact point. Many people would just try to hit the center, but it is so important to hit literally under the ball. This is how you get consistent at first by sending the ball high over the net. After you develop the feel, then you can accelerate, NOT WRIST. This is how you can lower the trajectory of the ball. The rest of your instructions are fine. It was just about the wrist that I wanted to point out. But overall, this shot becomes useless against someone with an excellent Topspin lob. One of my opponents in the past, topspin lobbed me and I couldn't hit at the lowest point because that thing kicked up so high off the court and hit the back fence FAST. Had no chance of getting that even after sprinting. This only works if the lob is slow, like a slice or volley lob.
I see you are up to some more tennis mischief Milan. So now its the Tweener between the legs.. So you like to keep both legs grounded to use your wrist to hit the ball all between your legs. Well I kinna did it a different way instead of doing it this way, I hit mine by stepping out with one foot into the ball to allow me to open up the legs and then lifting the outside leg to hit a drive forehand slice all back under the leg which kinna feels a bit weird but well i cheated for I didn't even do the shot properly with both legs down on the ground, I had one leg off the ground and the other off the ground.. I prefer doing it that way. because i was just LAZY... I didn't want to pronate with the wrist as you do. But everybody has their different styles of doing this shot I guess.
Little advice for the kids out there: don't focus too much on this shot, if you don't have a partner to hit with, you are much better off practicing your serve than the tweener
The tweener looks great but is very tough to master and unreliable. Amateurs should try and hit to the side, much better and easier. And if you miss you won't get a vasectomy.. =P
Great tweener break down. Can’t wait to give it a try.
You showed me how to hit this a few years ago and now I have finally mastered it.
Sounds great! :)
This is the best video in teaching how to hit a back tweener I’ve watched now.

What model racquet did you use? It is Wilson Pro Staff 97 Black and White Beautifulcoloristic, with Countervail ( sometimes called ugly technology)?
It might be the wilson blade

does it help to have one foot off the ground when you hit?

Very true! But sometimes we need to have a bit fun. As you said, we are all kids after all :)
