I noticed the same thing about the wrist - I was flicking it forwards too much and got an injury. Now I'm going to flick sideways. Thanks a lot for confirming this!
Sounds great. Let's go!
ive done that finger snapping thing since i was kid - now it is good for flat serve - amazing!
Man... Thanks so much for these tips, I had big problems with my serve, watched thousand videos on UA-cam on this topics but never got good results.
I tried your tips during my two last tennis sessions and this is just amazing!!!
I always tossed my ball to the right...the simple fact to toss it a bit more to the left, with the pronation and the elbow high in the end works perfectly! Crazy!
I still need to improve that, but that's the first time I fell I'm on the good way.
Thanks again!!!!
I've tried today to follow all your advice and it came out the 'popping' sound (with a corresponding increase of ball speed). Thanks for the great video.
Thank you, I'll take an advice for serves from a man who can ace Djokovic ANY time of the day!
Hahah good one Spiros!
This is hands down the best video out there on how to it big flat serves. Thanks for making it Milan👍
Broo, you're genius, I finally understood why we do this pronation with our wrist. TY
Thanks Man. I have been following your recovery too. So i hope you get back to the court soon enough. Your tips and passion for the game are helping us mortals out
Cant wait to get back on the court and try that. Best wishes from Germany
Getting ready for a national 70’s tournament, had lost my pop on serve, and you fixed it!! Now excited to go play!! Thanks
where is this tournament /would like to play in I m 73 and 3/4
@@tadeuszkamieniak7779 pull up USTA, tournaments, seniors, and national or regional tournaments. You would enjoy.
another nice video. i would like to add that weight transfer forward should be a tip. Milan is landing 2 feet or more past the baseline. That gives him tremendous power on those flat serves.
True Jeff, well noticed! :)
Just amazing videos. Feel like after watching hundreds of ours of more or less usefull videos I have finally found a guy here who really knows how to easily break down the moves in tennis. It simply all works out - every single tip. And you do not have to go through tons of blablabla. Thanks so much for just bringing it to the point. I am currently training my 5 year old son and he so needs to learn that stuff right from the beginning. Thanks, thanks, thanks to tenfitmen :)))
Wow this video is a game changer. I have a decent flat serve but I decided to follow your tips and I see improved power and consistency. The ball toss to the left and pronating at an angle makes a big difference. I’ve never had any coach teach me this..thank you. On the down the tee on deuce should I stay closed longer? Any aiming tricks?
Cant wait to give this a go.
I had it one day and didn't know the details of how I got it.
Kyrgios serve is my favourite
Sounds good. Let's go Nick, I mean Sean! :)
EXCELLENT INSTRUCTION COACH! I'LL GIVE IT A TRY NEXT TIME ON THE COURTS. KEEP UP THE GREAT CONTENT. 👍👍👏👏🎾🎾🎾
Damn, Milan. This is an eye-opening secret to a better flat serve. Thank you so much!
Thanks Daniel, I am excited to hear how did it go! Let us know!
@@tenfitmentennisimpulse I just went out and hit a few baskets of balls. I focused on keeping my arm relaxed, yet whipping that forearm pronation into the flat serve. I've never heard that POP before until now. Thank you, brother!!!
Also, that finger snapping example is so silly, yet TOTALLY MAKES SENSE.
Update: my serves have been failing me the last few days. I went out again with a basket of balls and remembered this pronation lesson. Not only did I hit with more speed than ever before, but it seemed to keep the serves down and in. I'm a believer. Thanks, Milan!
Just put your video on. Looking smooth. Now for the real proof that flat serve when good in the box has to hit back chain link fence with force and not a second bounce or it's a whatever bro type video. Making it a challenge and I know you got this bro.🎉
Perfect music for a flat serve video. The shaking thermometer ideas was also helpful
Thanks from Moscow city! Like how you provides your tennis ideas via understandable language. And moreover, you share your knowledge how to play MODERN tennis which is outstanding! Cheers!
Thank you for your kind words. So happy it helps. If possible, please share it with friends who could also get some value from it.
This is super exciting, great vid on Flat serve. Thank you so much!
Thanks, so happy you like it. Hope it helps!
Very useful to show these tips in action with an actual student! I think she can do it even better if she reaches faster the trophy position.
Thanks for your comment and advice! Glad you like it! If possible, please share it with some friends who could also get value from it.
Great great lesson. It really helped me improve my flat serves😤. But I'm still weak in slice and kick serve. Please make videos about those too. Thank you so much 🦾
The ball toss tip is really important. It's something I've been doing wrong and this should help. Thanks!
Hi, Thanks for the amazing video and lesson. I'm using the pronation on all my services, flat, slice and top/kick with great success. It adds not only power, also a lot of spin.
Many thanks....I learnt....
Milan, your tips make difference ! Speed of the racquet comes from looseness but also from right mechanics that you explained.
💪👊🇷🇸
You are so good because you show your hands on experience also ur background music s perfect match with ur coaching.love it. Keep up a good job. Thx
Prince Toronto
Best serve video on UA-cam. This helped me a lot. Thanks sir
Finally got it! I was pronating too high and on the right not above my head! Thank you - best video!!!!
Brilliant never seen it explained in so much detail makes total sense hope I can put into practice.
Thank you !, Greta job !
Yup! Milan; the best tennis guy on the net.....by far.
Svaki vas video pomaze vise nego godine treninga u klubu. Bravo Milane, bravo ekipa samo tako nastavite :)
Good tips, I have been tossing more at 12 o'clock instead of the usual 1pm people always talk about, and my contact is always low due to the 45 degrees angle of pronation and stretched out more to the right, I needed to lower the contact point becoz of that bad toss.
Fantastic coaching😀pls give us your kick serve coaching.
Thx
Prince Toronto
Great advices, I'll check them right tomorrow! Nice regards Milan
Video je super!
Been looking to get my served to improve, I will follow your instructions on the pronation thanks for sharing, definitely subscribed.
Just see it today and I will try .Thanks.🎾🎾🎾
Thanks for such a most helpful and enlightening video. Thumbs up.
Milane, zbog ovog malog "trika" moji mecevi su sada toliko efikasniji jer :
Useful tip
The tips look great, I will definitely try them. The audio is hard to hear on video.
I just recently discovered your channel. You provide great content. But, your outtakes at the end of this vid are awesome. 😂
Yes! Rock n Roll.
Late to the party on this video but, yeah, like other comments say, the tips in this video really work! Thank you.
Perfect lesson. The essentials.
Never thought of this one. Makes good sense. Will work on this soon. Thanks!
Thank you, Milan! Can't wait to try these tips. I always end with a slice when trying to hit flat
I had this same problem for a long time! I then learned to think of hitting the ball as if you were giving someone a "high five" with your racquet. You'll notice a big difference!
Always very helpful the analysis of the crucial details. Thanks a lot Milan
Excellent instruction tips as usual, it's very helpful. You mentioned loose wrist and arm. How about the tension level of the grip? How loose you hold the racket when you serve generally? On a scale from 1 to 10, about what number you hold the racket before contacting the ball and what number when contacting the ball?
Very good tips!!!!! Excellent. Thank you
thank you for your very clear and encouraging video. I can't wait to try it!
Thank you for the great advice. Many years ago I used to serve and finish with my elbow high. I’m going to hav to get back to that.😊👍
The tip with the thermometer was a good one.every beginner and intermediate who wants to serve the right way struggles.the toss..very important.was surprised to see you toss a little more on the left.SUNDAY ROLAND FINAL.i know where your heart's at😁.i like that he face novak.GO STEFANARAAA!!!
Incredibly useful video. Thank you so much for the content.
What string and tension are you using? Great lesson!
Taan strings, at the moment it's 24/24 kg.
Absolutely useful!!! Thanks a lot, Milan!!!
good stuff
Great video !!! Thank you so much !!! Wonderful tips !!!
Great vid, I need to enhance my pronation
muy buena explicación!!!!, podrías por favor agregar algo sobre la mecánica de las piernas??, saludos desde Argentina!!!!!
Great video, thanks for uploading!
Hey Milan, i always find your content great and rich, I love it. Just a word of caution, I think you should warn people that in order to do this serve you should do some arm and shoulder conditioning. You sure do but for the average tennis player this is an injury waiting to happen, they’ll serve great for some months, maybe the best of their lives, and then the shoulder gets injured with the violent nature of this motion. Just my two cents....keep the good work!
Really great tips, it made a marked difference in my serves today. Will you release a video on second serves as well?
Hello Milan! Big fan of your UA-cam channel.I play tennis and I have a big problem with my footwork. During the rally, after my 3-4 shot my legs get tired and I cannot move well.I would like to ask you, if you sell your fitness program(for tennis)? Especially with a focus of footwork.
Thanks Milan, the tips are very useful. I'm going to try them out next time I get on the court. You said in your bonus tip that this serve is better to serve to your opponent's backhand(for a righthander). Which serve would you use to serve to the opponent's right-hand side? Slice serve or another hard flat serve? Also, do you have a video on slice serve?
I think that serving to the right-hand of the opponent is quite hard with a flat serve, because it demands a slightly greater torso rotation between the toss and the hit moments. A slice serve is easier for me and almost as effective as a flat serve, because the spin achieves better angles, making up for the slightly slower speed.
Excellent video as always
Thanks much!
Like how you make it pop, thanks
How dare you give away the secrets of the serve. Shame on you for showing the entire world how to hit an amazing flat serve. Even a zero athletic ability guy like me was able to go out and drop bombs after watching this video. Hope you are proud of yourself Mr. Man!!!
ps Thx a million !
Nice, i will practise this today!!
Yes, let's go!
Top man
It's great advice. Most people mistakenly believe pros aren't making contact at an angle like that, but it's very clear in slow motion. It's actually one of the few things a teaching pro showed people at an event I attended last week. He said most people get that part wrong.
It must be satisfying getting your student to finally hit a few solid ones. They all must be fairly excited they can hit much harder than they thought when that happens.
« Today I’m gonna show you...” should be your YT channel’s name ! Go on and thanks for all your tips…❤
Trowing motion is not only 45 degrees but it is also a negative angle too, right!
谢谢😊,非常好的教练
good
It worked! I've been trying to find the "pop" sound on my serve for years. I realized from your video that I was doing the pronation the wrong way, kind of like 'painting the fence', and once I tried it your way, like shaking a thermometer, it started popping. I got even more pop by realizing that I needed to rise up all the way from the knee bend before bringing the racket through, so it lags, and not at the same time. Anyway, thanks for the tip. Yay! How do you apply this pronation to kick, slice and topspin serves? Is it the same?
Does this pronation apply with the 2nd serve ( slice or kick serve) as well? Thanks for the great video!
Yes
If you hang with Milan, you will always learn something you've never seen before.
Made my day. Thanks a lot! :)
Hi great video. Can you please tell me how to hit a slice serve ? Is it the same technique but simply aiming at the outside of the ball or does the swing change ?
Thank You
high elbow follow through was an interesting tip I have not heard about before, thank you! I can't wait to try it. How about the non dominant arm foliding into the body at the same time when you make impact? I notice you do it but quickly move it to your left side like Dominic Thiem does. But the student demonstrating was swinging her left arm out to the left of her body without it folding into the body until the 5th or so serve when you did a replay on it slow motion. Then she occasionally folded in partially or briefly before letting it fly to the left and the very last one that you commented again "that's the one" she noticeably folded in her arms upon impact and then swung the arm again out to the left. What is your opinion about creating more force on the ball by abruptly stopping the upper body using the left arm just as you are using the right arm by bending it to 90 degrees right after follow through? Aren't they each adding to the speed of the ball and don't all pros do at least the folding of the arm initially into the body upon impact? I will have to look to see if they bend their elbows with their right arm upon follow through.
Has the look and style of Goran Ivanavisch (greatest server)
Great tip where you are located?
Great advice for the flat serve, Thank u for this jem! Btw at least how tall must one be to have a decent flat serve?
Which grip to apply when serving this way, please?
Excellent my friend. This is the sound of fear!
You put that well! :)
@@tenfitmentennisimpulse haha, it's because I have faced it.... now thanks to this lesson, I will deliver it !
What does he mean by temperature measuring device?
One question: how would you modify this motion for the slice or kick serve? Don’t we still need the power to execute those serves?
Whatever your motion is for slice or kick, you still add pronation. So it is more like "Hey coach, how would you modify my slice serve by adding this pronation of the forearm bones motion?" The answer is add the pronation. It's the physics of the biomechanics that makes the pronation amplify the speed of the racket head. Dialing in the control of these elements is the next part now that you know what to do.
Great video! Can you make that popping sounds with a forehand or backhand?
Yes, possible! Good topic!
epic ending!))
:D
Ok, I ve been serving alone with 20 balls doing a wrong flat serve. Let’s ho again and thanks for the advices
Hey two questions how can I consistently get this massive serve in the service box and which camera are you using?
gonna try that for sure, i think i was going to much in middle and right, but didnt know about pronation from an angle.
Where is this? Is this Hong Kong?
What grip? Eastern?
which grip do u use?
Mercury is the chemical in the old thermometer.
I wonder which city you are in. Looks familiar
the chemical element is mercury
