The thing that worries me the most about getting a club fitting is that my swing and ball contact seems so inconsistent right now. I don't know how a club fitter can deal with that.

We deal with this on a regular basis, and more than not the inconsistencies come down to the instruments being used. A good club fitter should be able to help.

Have u thought about getting Sub70 and Wilson into your studio for more of budget options for your customers? Cause those r two brands I would love to try and would love to get fit by u soon

We have as a matter of fact. the challenge with DTM products like sub 70 is they have a business model that caters to the end consumer and generally doesn’t align with custom fit shops like ours, so it’s harder for us to get hands on their stuff. In regard to Wilson, I’m not saying it’s bad but I do believe for what you pay versus a couple dollars more the results can sometimes be eye opening. It’s a good question thanks for asking.

Srixon ZX 5’s would be my goto for better player forgiveness and workability. Really damn good.

@@SwingFit The ZX5 is on my list for Players Distance. I like that they have a similar look and combine well with the ZX4 Game Improvement irons. The cost is reasonable too.

Not sure if I will get a response on this comment since the video is 8 months old...but I'll try. :) I'm a new golfer (9 months) I really love the sport and in full tilt. I've built a full sim in my garage with the Uneekor Eye Mini as my launch monitor and even have swing cameras as well. This has dramatically increased my learning time. I've also done over 20 lessons with the local PGA Associate. However, I did my first fitting within my first 2 months of learning. I feel now that the clubs may not fit well. The fitter did it old school on the range and didn't have anything high tech looking at strike position. I constantly struggle with a consistent strike on the face. At first I was hitting hosel rockets quite often and now months later hitting toe strikes and find myself behind the ball all to often. Should I just practice more and then get fitted again....or is it worth getting fitted now? Don't get me started on the driver...lol As soon as I have it figured out, it goes away.

I would go get reevaluated, as I’m pretty sure with the amount of time you’ve put in the clubs simply are doing you more harm than good. So there’s a pretty good chance you are swinging faster and likely much different from when you started, and should you continue using your current sticks you will likely see your game stall this year or go the other direction. Here’s how you know, if you feel like you have to back off or if the strike point is all over the face then without question it’s time.

@@SwingFit YES 100% I have to slow way down in order to hit the ball flush and it doesn't feel natural to me and the strike point is every where. Thanks for the quick reply on an older video!

I had a fitting today and came back to re-watch this video because fitter and I can’t agree on shaft tipping. The Diamana TB 60R performed very well in my Stealth 2+ 18 degree head. But, I didn’t like the boardy feeling at impact. Meanwhile I LOVED the lively kick of the tip section on the VA Composites Slay, even though it’s performance was behind Diamana TB and Raijin 2.0. Since I wanted a 43.25 inch wood, I suggested that the Diamana TB not be tip trimmed to get it to feel more like the Slay. Fitter wants to tip trim to manufacture 5-wood standard of 1” (because “that is what manufacturer recommends”). We are at an impasse. Golf is annoying!

Thanks for sharing, in this situation it’s very likely your fitter may have never built a golf club before. 😀 we see this a lot when we have customers come in for a retrofit, not tipping would have helped, the other thing I would have likely tried as I know the VA shafts well, would have been to try going up in flex first, and then I would have tried going up in weight second. They are awesome and I’ve always felt the slays can get a little too loose, and sometimes going stiffer or heavier can help. As an alternative I’ve also found the new Ventus Red TR to be another shaft that fits nice within these couple of shafts also. Sorry to hear he wasn’t comfortable with at least trying it.

I wish I wasn’t far away over here in Scottsdale AZ so that I could drop by your new (and fresh-looking)! studio. I did wonder why Ventus anything never came up in the fitting, but somehow forgot to ask.
