Thanks for Watching
I struggled with the Eastwood gun for about 5mo ..i got so frustrated, it was either give up or try the RC1 ..i did and what a big difference. I’m a rank beginner, I’ve seen guys do really good work with the Eastwood stuff so it’s all on me but i had a great experience with the RC1..money well spent
That’s good to hear👍 the guys I see using Eastwood seem to have fun “making things work” but I wanted to get right in to powder coating so this was in my eyes the best option. If you search you tube and see a bunch of vids labeled “fixes” for the product your going to struggle. Thanks for watching!
Had the same issue with the eastwood. Was kinda always unpredictable when i used it. Wish I would have just spent the money in the beginning.
This is awesome. I may have to get me one of these.
So far so good with it having some issues with my oven need to get that sorted first then get some more powder coating under my belt. Thanks as always for watching man!
My guess is the issue with your cured part was caused by back ionization. Try shooting your part at a lower KV setting and see if that fixes it. Also, you mentioned not trusting your heat gun because your part was showing 400 degrees quickly. That's such thin metal that reaching 400 would happen in no time. You could expect a pair of brake calipers (for example) to take longer. Lastly, how is your spray booth grounded? If you're not using a 8' copper grounding rod (easily sourced at Home Depot) you'll never see that gun's true potential. Mine is planted just outside the shop and I ran 12 AWG copper wire inside attached to my hanging rod. If you're cringing about driving a 8' rod into the ground (it's a HUGE PIA!), there's a way to install one in a couple minutes by hand, no tools and it's ridiculously easy. Happy to share if you're interested. Great video!
Thanks for watching! Yes I have been using this set up for awile now and have Lear’s lots. I am still just using the ground wire that is with the gun. But have plans to use the ground rod. I am no stranger to that as I installed one for my cnc plasma cutter. So this happen soon. But thank your the info this will help a lot. 👍
Just subscribed bro, keep up with vids 👍 make sure you add a moisture and oil collector to your air lines should help prevent any bubbles also do a little preheat on your parts and you should be golden. By the way really like the innovation on your oven set up 👏 just got me the rc-1 gun and you inspired me for my future oven set up so I’m going propane as well
Hey thanks for watching! And been a fun learning curve. I have been having some issues with my over the last few weeks. For some reason can’t seem to get it up to temp. I know others are using this same set up on larger ovens with no issues so I’m trying to work it out. But thanks for watching!
I started with propane with my oven. It's 4'x4'x7'high. I ended up going with elements. Seems like I kept having issues with the solenoids every so often. Great videos tho man, I had the same spots on some of my parts in the beginning. Now I make sure to sandblast everything or pre heat everything I do.
Hey that’s for the info and thanks for watching! 👍
Open the damn box already 🤣
I to am looking for a paint system.
Keep up the good work 👍
Cheers
Lol took me a wile to get it open. thanks for watching👍
seeing as no one has made that comment yet... I will... "you should have gone electric"! lol jk, awesome video
How far are you from fargo? I drift near Fargo. It would be awesome to have you out at an event.
I have thought about it as well to see one of those events. I’m about 2.5 hours away. Been there often.👍
Just not to a drift event. Drag races there a bunch.
Where can i buy that.?
Royal coats powder coating. You can find him on UA-cam and google 👍
If I was you I would return the gun back and get yourself a Nordson and you will never have a problem powder coating that gun that you got is not that good.
Thanks for letting g me know. But I have a blast using this gun. I know it’s not a high end gun. And I am no professional. But this has been working vary well for my needs. But I do thank you for watching. Once I know more of the powder game I will look in to upgrades.
The powder is just falling off at 15:08. I'm using the same gun. And sometimes it just need to be above the item. So the powder is just falling to the painted surface and it becomes oversprayed. Have you figured out how to decide this problem? Thanks for your video.
That was more on me not using the right air psi. And it built up to much in the gun. It did not seem to me like it was falling off the part but falling out the gun. But I am still new to powder coating and have lists to learn. But I have been getting better with setting up the gun.
@@letkemanfabworks619 I'm also knew and don't know what to do with that spinning. Seems to me it's just kind of construction of the gun.
