    i like the addition of telling how to test the oil ready by adding the crumbs and seeing the small bubbles
    those sorts of things are really helpful if you are new to this sort of thing and is a love addition to the video

    I like to sub in chicken stock for water, and also add in a couple splashes soy sauce/a splooch of ketchup/a little diced garlic/ginger and some grated apple personally, but these are always great!

      Diced garlic near the end gives a nice burst of flavour you don’t get from the Vermont curry. I get the one with apple flavour in it already so I don’t feel the need to add apple but I hear a lot of folks do that.

    Very nice recipe, I normally add only one cube of curry powder with this much quantity. Your curry must be very strong in taste.

      Love this I make it all the time and I use the same amount of cubes. The more cubes you use the thicker it gets but the spice level doesn't really change much.

    Just made the curry and it was easy and fantastic! I used pork cutlet instead of chicken and I loved it

      That may be because English sailors first brought the curry powder to Japan -- the Japanese sailors would have been some of the first to try it

      s&b is better (it's called golden curry) it has no artificial honey and fruit flavourings so you can add fresh honey and fruit of choice

    I like that you had more realistic amounts of the breading (flour, egg, panko) Other YT recipes are calling for wasting a whole bunch of it for a few cutlets - NOT IN THIS ECONOMY

    Very nice recipe, some parts like removing scum took a bit of time(they resisted), but all in all it brightened my day.

    How long do you fry the chicken in oil...I've never tried frying in oil...the same amount of time as when you fry it on a pan?

      Keep the heat to medium so you can be sure the chicken is cooked by the time the breadcrumbs are golden. About 7 minutes

      In woollies in Asain food section you can get Golden Curry. Very similar package and you use same quantity 😁✌

      If you add Indian curry you will be making Indian curry not Katsu curry. It’s a different mix of spices.

    Can the blocks of curry be substituted with curry powder? Those curry packs have a lot of preservatives.

    Looks delicious but surprised you didn't make the curry sauce from scratch. The store bought sauces are usually full of msg preservatives etc.....

    Doesn't seem right. Much better with breast fillets, and the sauce with garlic, ginger, flour, chicken stock and garam masala

      Garam Masala is different. It has to be the british style or mainstream 'curry powder'

      The original recipe uses curry powder brought by English Sailors to Japan and therefore the dish uses the english style curry powder (as found in english chip shops today)
      Using Garam Masala would completely change the flavour profile and is completely WRONG.

      Curry is made at home this way in all the Asian households I know. I’ve never heard anyone making homemade curry sauce for this type of curry. I suppose you can but it’s not common for asians.

    I want to make something yummy in 2024 I want to try out chicken Katsu curry with rice and cheese sauce using mozzarella sauce and chicken Katsu and curry and rice, And I really want to shine my meal with my drinks it’s Mountain Dew, And blueberry cookie Oreo creamy milkshake.

    dont deep fry it!! use shallow oil for health.

      It doesn't work as well. Deep frying is ok a few times a month -- no problem at all

      But if you’re having it as a part of a healthy meal just don’t deep fry.

    I know why white people love this dish so much, The British introduced curry to Japan at the end of the 19th century and this curry is so palatable to them because it is so mind and bland. Add some spice ffs.
