    Some people may think that its ugly, but I'm here to tell you that it not only sounds great, it is one of the easiest guitars that I have EVER played. Everything is top notch. Everything that EVH has learned over the years went into this guitar. They did a great job!

      Its a marketting gimmick. He named it after wolfgang.. i have no words. It's pickups are wider than normal. But lets be serious.. Eddy still plays a superstrat. Hell the only reason he doesnt play factory Jem's is he has a contract. If jems had existed when he was a teen he wouldnt play anything without ibanez on the headstock

      @@wildspowell196 I was in my local Guitar Center today and they have the replica FrankenStrat that Fender made a limited run of. It has everything, the dummy neck pickup, the single volume knob labeled tone, the quarter under the Floyd Rose, etc. I want it sooo bad. They also have a Stealth in the toothpaste green with maple neck. All so good to look at! Congrats on your purchase, do Eddie proud!

      At all American guitar shredding he was. He was also VERY mean spirited. In the last two days I learned about his treatment of Micheal Anthony and the way Micheal was so damn classy in response. Did you know that Ed showed Micheal how to play bass? Never mind that Micheal was already good enough to be asked to join after his band played with Van Halen at a school gym. Eddie could have been a cool dude, he was not. Did you know that when Eddie had that bandanna on his head he was on drugs with sunken cheeks and insane? Too bad he was so messed up as a person. Sammy reached out to them several times with zero response. Van Halen bros are bad blood and now it is history that cannot be patched up like Dave, Sammy and Micheal all tried to do.

      @@hyperluminalreality1 as awful as that all was, you have to remember that because Eddie was the frontman for Van Halen, he had immense pressure on him at all times. From what I know Eddie only ever did drugs as a way to focus due to major anxiety he had growing up, and would only ever drink really before concerts to relieve his nerves. Eddie was a man tortured by drug addiction and substance abuse from the moment he set foot on stage until the day he died.

    The reference to "plugging straight in" is referring to not using an overdrive pedal. Obviously he has delays and has used harmonizers after the amp.

    • @cdreid99999
      @cdreid99999 6 років тому +3

      he's fucking lying. Overdrive... you get that from a GOOD amp. IT doesnt need a pedal. Distortion, compression, delay etc.. ALL of which he fucking uses.. you get from pedals

    • @NolanZewariligon
      @NolanZewariligon 4 роки тому +1

      What the hell does it matter if the circuit is in the amp or in a pedal?
      5150 has like 5 channels with 100 pedals-worth of electronics.
      It's all just BS.
      Amps, pedals, even guitar... it's all electronics.
      If it sounds good, it's good. That's all that matters.

    This video after lots of research to understand the EVH guitars, literally was the final factor in me buying one. Sure it’s an old video but hearing the effort that goes into the fine tuning of it and his enthusiasm sold me. Not because he’s a salesman for it but it was his guitarist and perfectionist ways that sold it.
    UPS should be here within 20 minutes.

      I got one last week as well ! I have had many guitars over the last 37 years and none were better than this.

    • @watchthegamer73
      @watchthegamer73 2 роки тому +1

      @@humbug4478 OMG tell me about it! I have never played anything like it! That tone is insane! Even when you turn the volume down, you still keep the gain and get a cleaner sound. I don’t know how the heck he did it. I don’t have a 5150 amp and I heard plugging the EVH directly into the 5150 with no pedals is when you’ll really hear the beauty of the guitar. So I bought a Mooer GE150 amp modeler pedal that has the peavey 5150 version and the EVH 5150 amps. The pedal apparently is almost perfect emulating the real sound. So being inexpensive I figured what the heck. I bypassed my Boss ME80 and went straight into the amp pedal and wore headphones to test the sound. WOW! It has flange, phaser, delay effects etc built in like the real amp and omg it blows my mind and it’s not even a real 5150!
      Anyway, I got overjoyed there. Sorry about that but let me know what you think of it as you experiment more.

    Ok, I don’t know if this is going to work but I will try every social media platform until I get it right. I have been with my fiancé for 8 years. We’ve definitely had our fair share of ups, downs, good, bad and ugly. His name is Josh A. Mullins and he has been in love with playing the guitar since he was 11 years old. The man who started his musical dream was your dad!! Over the years he’s had a Wolfgang guitar, a 5150 amp, and many many musicians song books. Your dad was his absolute hero growing up and the two of you still .Over the course of the past 5 years we have struggled severely, he has taken care of me and my 14 year old son like his own. He has voluntarily given up all his EVH music equipment and memorabilia over the last 5 years to do this. Absolutely devastated, he never said a word. I am trying to give him the perfect thank you for everything. An autograph,snap, etc,from his hero’s. I will find a Wolfgang/ Frankenstrat for him or die trying. Ty, Shauna Bailey 🎸

      I'm far from a doctor... but ... I'd hate to say this but I will..
      Smoking imo is the reason that the best guitarist was taken from us way too early..
      But what would I know ??? Hearing the news of his passing was the saddest start to my morning since I can remember..
      He had a HUGE influence to my life. Probably the biggest because, of the people that I met because of his playing and also what he meant to Pantera. I have a friend that went to 5150 and interviewed him and he had the time of his life meeting Eddie. Check out Jason McNamara's channel of the same name to watch it. Great video...
      I bought a 5150 III amp a few years ago and I love it. He saved Hard Rock & Metal for many decades I think.. Still does to this day

THATS what he looks at this as not just a one off addition to the EVH lineup no this is THE EvH lineup the same way gibson has les pauls sgs 335s but the les paul is IT fender has strats teles jaguars,mustangs,jazzmasters all awesome but the STRAT is the guitar... EvH has striped series,5150s, but the Wolfgang is THE guitar!!! , thats what i learnt from ed in this video... god rest your soul edward, and im rocking out to Mammoth WVH that kid is so talented and bringing back rock music to the MASSES! pop and hip-hop cannot kill rock aslong as wolfies rocking and the rest of us guitarists to!!!

      //if he does use an overdrive pedal, it isn't specifically called a distortion pedal//
      Yes, he doesn't use a pedal that says "Distortion" on it, but he uses a pedal to generate the "warm distortion tones" (actual product description).
      Lastly...relax. I like EVH too and he is a great guitar player, but he is trying to sell his product here and is clearly embellishing. You don't have to take this personally.

      SYLFan2008 i know even an overdrive pedal distorts the tone, thus can be designated a distortion pedal, but in pedal classification a distortion pedal is heavier than an overdrive pedal. they both distort the tone, yes, but overdrive and distortion are 2 different things in this case.

    I enjoyed playing this guitar at the store. I was tripped up at the switch being upside down. Then I remember they want it that way. The bridge is great. That tremolo arm and the dives are very smooth more so than my orig Floyd rose. It must be the springs. I like it. Don't know if If pay a huge amount for them.

    One fact that is for certain. Eddie Van Halen loved the guitar. Most often in photo or video, Eddie is holding, building, or playing a guitar. I would have loved to see the tips of his finger's. Jimmy Lyon, another great guitarist (early Eddie Money), had figertip's shaped almost like little hammers. From thousands and thousands of hours practicing and playing.

    I've been using & telling other players for a couple decades now that stainless frets are the way to go. Honestly, I do notice a slight change in tone but it's not a worse change, just different and very negligible. And yes, they do feel more slick, like playing on glass but you quickly get used to that.
    The biggy for me though is that I play alot and I want my frets to last for many years. Heck, when someone who presses really hard plays your guitar with Nickel/Silver frets, you can see little dents immediately. I can quickly change worn strings but worn frets is a much bigger & more experience problem. Cheers!

    • @e.l.norton
      @e.l.norton 6 років тому

      SRNF He's known for using pedals, but he's also known for using them sparingly, for little accents here and there. Especially in the early days. Look at his early, duct taped board. There's a phase 90 for solos, a flanger, and the echo plex. That's about it. He was never pedal crazy. In the later years, when his tone changed, he began using digital delays and a harmonizer to fatten his sound. But, those have been gone for a long time. He's back almost exclusively to a few simple pedals, the Phase 90 being the one used most often for solos.

    I am the first to admit that I am not a big Van Halen fan, I did like them more when Sammy was in the band though. But to listen to EVH pretend like his guitar playing is nothing but him a guitar and all just plugged straight into an amp is comical, what's more funny is to read the comments by his fans defending him saying this. All you have to do is sit down and listen to ANY Van Halen record and it's nothing but one effect after another. Ok maybe he doesn't use a lot of pedals, I will come back to that one, but look at all the knobs on his amps, There's your effects ladies and gentlemen. Some will say that live he isn't using pedals like crazy and yet he still get's those sounds. Umm yeah, have you ever heard of "guitar technician" or a "sound guy"? Those are the guys working OFF STAGE giving his guitars those sounds by changing the knobs on the friggin amps! Back to the pedals now, I recently watched a video of him soloing, from 2017 or 2016, I noticed he sure spent a lot of time looking down and moving his foot on a whole array of pedal assortments. It was a small venue so I bet they didn't have their normal stage gear which meant the sound guys couldn't make the changes, he had to do it.
    Now just because I don't buy his "just an amp" BS does not mean I don't give him credit for being one of the top 5 rock guitarists of all time, he certainly is and has earned that title. My point is that half of the great guitar playing you hear is caused from the use of effects. Hit the search button here on You Tube and look up this video - "Ted Nugent - Hibernation" . If you know anything about guitars you know that Ted's weapon of choice, A Gibson Byrdland, is NOT a rock guitar, it is more for Jazz. It is a semi hollow bodied guitar, some are full hollow body, and special care has to be taken when using it for rock music otherwise it sounds like crap and gets a tremendous amount of feedback through the amps. For those who don't know, You know how if you have a guitar plugged into and amp and you get to close to the amp there is this squeal? You hear it with microphones a lot as well, like when people are giving a speech and all of a sudden there is this high pitched squealing sound. That is what is to be avoided.. Nugent embraced that and if you watch that video, in the beginning and for a couple of minutes you see what Nugent can do with that squeal and it's friggin awesome! Guys like Nugent use very little effects, no seriously he actually does use little his is not like EVH's little lol.
    It cannot be denied that EVH changed the rock guitar and I for one am grateful to him for it, but let's cut the BS and just tell people like it is shall we Edward?

    I was skeptical when these came out, Eddie is why I picked up the guitar 20 years ago as a little boy. Mostly I played on Ibanez and later on bought a MusicMan silhouette custom which is an amazing guitar. Then a pal brought back an amber tigerstripe EVH Wolfgang from the states and I bought it off him for USD$900 , the best money I ever spent, these guitars are better than nearly everything else and are only equalled by the absolute best. Im very lucky to own one.
