    I am so glad I found your channel when I did. I kept having issues with plants growing in soil, one by one I began transferring them to leca, and they've done 100 times better than in soil. Bless youfor your amazing helpful videos!

    Great information Nora. Another one to keep in my library, and refer back to, as needed. I like that you share the good and the bad of your journey - transparency is key, keeping it 💯 (as the youngers would say!) Thanks yun ❤

    I'm so glad I found this. I have an adansonii in leca that's starting to get yellow leaves. It is on the older leaves but it's not an old plant at all. I think it's the light so I moved it to a south facing window. Keeping my fingers crossed! Thank you!

    Good idea about the water meter. I have one and although my finger feels dry soil, the meter that goes way down further into the pot told me the soil was damp, so no water for that plant. I wait a couple of days then test it again. Thanks for this info. You've saved me a few plants.

      I love that shirt too then later on I see it's a dress! I want one.
      I also agree with the light issues. I've read so many videos about low light plants. I find there are really just a few that thrive in low light. I turned on my grow lights even though it's August 2023, and wow. The plants love it. One got sunburned on two leaves, so I put that plant across the room on a window table that gets low filtered light. Hope she does well. Thanks for being brave enough to deconstruck that pole. Very good information.

    I have mine growing on a pole. Its growing bigger leaves on top and somehow still yellowing. Its already yellowed 7 leaves at the base. I checked the roots and they are fine all white and light brown. No odor. Airy mix and in a terricota pot. Let it dry between waterings. Lastly I water them with Foliage focus so not nutrient deficiencies. My guess then is the heat thats blowing on them but none of my other humidity loving plants are affected. Seems to just want to die for no reason. So annoying. It even have two grow lights plus morning sunlight.

    The only other thing I can think of is nutrient burn. Some plants aren't heavy feeders and can use a lighter fertilizer regimen.

    • @manjuk1708
      @manjuk1708 2 роки тому +1

      I agree. I myself have noticed in heartleaf philodendron. Just flushing the pot with plain water simply solved yellowing of leaves which started after I gave it nutrition back to back.

      In some cases, yes, but because this plant had been doing so well before, I know it was all the massive light and temperature changes that precipitated its demise. The lack of harmony in its system just meant everything was wrong in the end.

    I think rotting can still happen in leca - if the pot is to big for instance had it in the beginning when I put plants to leca

    What's your conclusion as to why were leaves yellowing? Although you were able to save the plant with the cutting. Actually i face several issues with plants in soil media and so have been thinking of moving to leca system. And so I started following your channel. But even you also face issues and so I am curious to know. Thanks

      Do it! Transition to Leca. You’ll be glad you did. 95% of my plants are in Leca and I do not regret it !

    • @TheLecaQueen
      @TheLecaQueen  2 роки тому +4

      Thank you for your kind words and for watching and subscribing, much appreciated! As I explain in the video, I know for sure that temperature and light played a major role in the yellowing leaves and downward slope of this plant. Everyone faces issues with plants at some point, I do for sure but thanks to leca I think I don't face as many issues, the vast majority of my plants are healthy and this plant was an exception rather than the rule. Keep trying different things until you can find what works for you and your plants.😍

      Hi I also have plants in both in soil and on leca and I think it’s quiete evenly spread between having yellow leaves in leca or soil I think in my case it’s not overwatering it’s more just that the oldest leafy die off due to natural life cycle

    Great video! My monstera has a couple of browning leaves that still seem to be getting bigger after transferring it to much better soil and separating them (there were 6 in one pot!). Should I cut off the browning leaves and let it bounce back with it’s healthy leaves, or should I let it be?

    I just transferred some plants ( alocoisa & birkin) into leca but now they’re yellowing at the edges. I transferred them from soil. Should I cut the soil roots & start from the beginning like a prop.

    Hello, I bought a plant on clearance it was saturated with water, I tried drying it out, now Majority of the leaves are yellow, is there any hope for this plant? I also ordered some plants online for the first time & they arrived saturated, some limp & broken, what can I do to help them survive?

    • @TheLecaQueen
      @TheLecaQueen  2 роки тому +1

      Oh no! Not cool. It depends on the plants. You might be able to salvage some cuttings or try the long method but I would also contact the seller and let them know, you might get some replacements.

    So, the plant could not be saved as it was, but just removing the dead and dying leaves as you did with the cuttings? I mean, you were removing the dead and dying anyway, could you just remove them from the original plant and not take it all apart? I have a baby Monstera Adansonii and expect to have some similar issues... one day.

    • @TheLecaQueen
      @TheLecaQueen  2 роки тому +1

      The plant could not be saved, or rather I did not want to waste a precious pole with a plant that was not going to look the way I wanted it to, so the best way was to start again. I hope that makes sense.
