This is exactly what I needed! I was trying to figure out this very process over the weekend, and now I know I was doing it the hard way. Thanks Bobby and Myk!
Even before watching I clicked the LIKE-button. I mean, c'mon: it has Bobby AND Myk - and 14 minutes ten seconds content. Trust me stranger, with those two guys you're about to learn a lesson that actually will be usefull and bring you a step ahead!
I do this but watched anyway just in case I found something new. Lo and behold, didn't know you can insert tracks as templates. Always good to share knowledge like this!
For anyone using Extinction Level Event for drums, you first need to set up the outputs in Kontakt Player and save that as a reaper preset. After that, close Kontakt Player and add ELE to your reaper session. Let it do the auto routing then go into ELE, select the preset you saved and set up the track outputs the same as in this video. Hope that helps.
Hello, After importing Ezdrummer to Multichannel (about a dozen tracks): 1. Should the left and right kicks be set in the center or evenly and slightly to the sides? And on 2 channels or one? 2. Should I export the adjusted sound of the kick drum (EQ) to wav or leave it to the sound engineer? I want to achieve the sound of a selective and clicking kick drum. 3. Should the toms be on one channel or each of the 5 on separate channels? 4. Should I set the sound of the snare drum myself (EQ) or give the sound engineer freedom in this matter, explaining to him what he wants to achieve? 5. After importing Ezdrummer to DAW, when you go to its MIXER tab, are different volume levels of the individual instruments visible. Should I set them to zero and then take care of the proper volume levels in the DAW? This is bugging me, because I don't know if changing these settings in the Toontrack mixer is necessary or needed? 6. Should I completely skip the Reverb channel from Ezdrummer and export only Monoroom and AMB? Or should I skip this too?
Dude I was literally searching for a video about this like earlier today and I couldn't really find that many I've never commented on this channel but I just wanna tell you keep up all the amazing tips your channel has been very helpful!!! I appreciate you lots keep up the wonderful vids! 🤍🤘 🖤
Another good video. Thanks. Would you be able to talk about Dolby Atmos and if it is really mandatory for everyone to know how to mix and master in it, on one of your next videos?
After this, if I wanted to send the drums parts to a reverb send, I would make a track with a reverb plugin on it and drag all of the drum parts to the reverb send?
Wow that's a ton of work just to set up the drums. Is there really a big advantage to this over just having it all on one track? Each kit piece can be adjusted via EZD2...volume, pitch, velocity. Does it sound better doing it this way?
I'm finding the the routing doesn't cross over when changing kits within EZ Drummer 3, even within variations of the same kit. Is there a workaround for this or do you need to save a template for every kit?
The moment you change the drumkit EZ drummer 3, all your routing work will probably be in vain, so saving a template only works if you intend to use the exact same drumkit again
my kick is activating the snare channel even though i have routed everything to its own channel. Kick is set to ez1 and snare is set to ez2 and all the filters and effects are set to track 16 in my case. do you know what could be causing this? its the only drum track that is acting up on me.
Kontakt is more complicated. You have to setup outputs in kontakt first then right click on the Kontakt 7 in your plugin on the track and select route to 64 tracks. Once you get it once, highlight all your drum tracks and save as template.
@FrightboxRecording thanks for the reply. Fellow jersian...middlesex county here. I use studio drummer in kontakt with protools now. Does ez drummer sound better? it may be my next investment.
Hey Bobby, love the channel. I was hoping Myk might have covered in Reaper how to render down the EZdrummer2 midi to seperate .wav drum stem tracks to mix like you do in Pro Tools. That seems to be the missing piece in all of the last few Ezdrummer videos. Finally found out how to do it here: ua-cam.com/video/srFtet4X3m8/v-deo.html

Hi nice tutorial but I try to download the template but when I recieved the email the link is not open
Literally my two favourite UA-camrs ❤
This is exactly what I needed! I was trying to figure out this very process over the weekend, and now I know I was doing it the hard way. Thanks Bobby and Myk!
FINALLY!!! omg I've been looking for an easy step by step video forever!!!! Reaper FTW!!
i approve this message 😅

Great video, so helpful. Would love to see more Reaper specific videos and collaborations with Myk, Thank you Bobby and Myk 💯😄👍
Stay tuned!

Assuming I understood right, thats great. I always have to go and rearrange my whole drum midi so each hit is where its supposed to be
I LOVE THE METAL ROCK HAND EFFECT WOW THANKS GUYS
Love the Dingbatz t-shirt! My band Grinder played our final show there in Sept 2010. Great venue! Also thanks very much for this tutorial.
So helpful, thank you. Bobby, your channel introduced me to Reaper years ago and it's always great to see it getting attention on here!
Awesome video! Ezdrummer is awesome, I know some people get used to route GGD, but I think Toontrack Ezdrummer is so much easier!
Great job Myk!
Essential info right here, always informative, thanks Bobby and great job Myk🤘🏻
Thank you 🤗
Mike's videos are essential for any Reaper user.
This is a great tutorial, as always! Thank you!
Reaper user here. tnkz !
You know, I'm something of a REAPER user myself 🤓
Here for the comments 🤓👊🏿☕
Stayed for the Coffee!
Man, you literally helped me save LOTS of time! Already routed VST Drums that way but didn't know making a template was THAT EASY
@@Dave_TheMetalJester glad to be of assistance! It's a bit of work on the front end, for sure, but the template most definitely is a time saver!
Do you have any video's about this same situation but with Kontakt? (Get Good Drums) Thanks
2 of my favorite youtubers 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Good explanation! thank you for this!!
Liked and subscribed in the first minute thank you for sharing your settings for free

fantastic + amazing. Even tho some people know this process is always good to have an expert doing it and always we can pick some new information :)
I like to do the hard panning thing on my spot mics that way I can have mono tracks for them.
LEAVE BOBBY’S CHANNEL ALONE!
Gracias por tu tutorial, muy bien, ahora quiero hacerte una pregunta, ¿cómo puedo enviar la caja virtual a un gatillo y combinar ambas cajas?
Thanks so much. Very helpful.
Thanks Bobby!

is your temp for live or midi drums is the question
Thanks!
You're the man
Thank you for this!!!
Thank you a lot dudes
Thank you for the template. One thing that I do not understand is why you send Snare bottom 6 times to the verb track.
After this, if I wanted to send the drums parts to a reverb send, I would make a track with a reverb plugin on it and drag all of the drum parts to the reverb send?

yes !
GOOD JOB!!!!!!!!1
What about the best project setting when using ez drummer in reaper?
I'm finding the the routing doesn't cross over when changing kits within EZ Drummer 3, even within variations of the same kit. Is there a workaround for this or do you need to save a template for every kit?

Serious question,
DO I NEED 17 TRACKS FOR DRUMS? 😁
my kick is activating the snare channel even though i have routed everything to its own channel. Kick is set to ez1 and snare is set to ez2 and all the filters and effects are set to track 16 in my case. do you know what could be causing this? its the only drum track that is acting up on me.
How do you do it when you use for instance Krimh Drums that are run through Kontakt 7? For me I havn't found any solution so far. Love your content!
Kontakt is more complicated. You have to setup outputs in kontakt first then right click on the Kontakt 7 in your plugin on the track and select route to 64 tracks. Once you get it once, highlight all your drum tracks and save as template.
@@Jimmy_Z thank you
Thanks...
I was hoping for some tips for the drummap... Can't find it for Ezdrummer 3
There’s a repository for maps on one of the reaper forums. I got my ssd map from there. Unfortunately I can’t recall where to direct you.
so EZdrumer doesn't require Kontakt???
negative, it is a standalone product
What do you click to be able to name the track? Thank you
Rather, what is the procedure b/c I can't click and label in mine
Why not do this for protools?
Unfortunately, less and less people use Pro Tools these days so content about Pro Tools does poorly. I still love Pro Tools, but I'm in the minority.
@FrightboxRecording thanks for the reply. Fellow jersian...middlesex county here. I use studio drummer in kontakt with protools now. Does ez drummer sound better? it may be my next investment.
