I remember the first time I heard Headstrong on the radio. I remember saying "I feel like I SHOULD like this but I don't." I now realize it was so generic that I couldn't latch on to anything that stood out. Trapt sucks.
Chris Trashbag Brown and Ronnie Radke will collaborate and make a song about how badass it is to groom couches in the White House. JD Vance will endorse the single and appear in the music video disguised as a human.
I had the best news of my life! Finally, Falling in Reverse is *not* coming to the UK after all out of the Home Office cancelling his visa! I'm spared of having to see people happily posting their selfies at their concerts. So, I just viewed this at the most perfect time!
Annoys me endlessly that Radke CAN write good music but chooses to stick with this im a victim nonsense. So exhausting like coming home that record cuts so deep but he just won't write like that. ALSO THAT I2I COVER SLAPS HARD AS HELL DON'T ACT LIKE IT DOESN'T MAN!
@@RockedNetI listened to it, if that’s what you can call it. Young me enjoyed early trapt (first two albums they had a couple good songs). But god, the fall is painful to listen to.
Popular monster is just an entire album of a man whining over the top of bad instrumentals. What I've heard on the radio is almost unlistenable. It sounds like what a group of 13 year olds would make after receiving their first instruments.
A few days ago Radke was denied of entry in the UK bc of his 2008 prison sentence so he and his fans complain/cry about it or whatever at the UK government bc of it. One thing for sure is his visa wouldn't have been denied if only Radke just behaved himself, actions have consequences. Radke also went as far as claiming the UK will suffer a giant economic hit 😂😂😂😂
Nightwish's Yesterwynde is also another low point for the band, sadly, since I've been listening to them since 2003. Whatever magic that band still had walked right out of the door with Marko Hietala 💔
As soon as I heard that they lost Marko too, I knew it was hopeless. He and Tarja was the best combination, but when they fired her, some magic was still left because he stayed. Now, though...nope.
I used to be a falling in reverse fan up until I saw what direction he was going to. It’s actually such a waste, because FiR has some of the BEST produced tracks in the game with so much talent and it’s wasted on shitty political messages and social media hate. He could genuinely tell good stories at some point, but I guess people like mediocre content.
I didn’t bother listening to Falling in Reverse (mainly because I knew exactly what I was gonna get…Linkin Park, but without any of the talent, musicianship, charisma, or humanity). I also didn’t bother with Hardy, Trapt, or Six Feet Under. I did listen to Wage War. I didn’t find it terrible, but I certainly found it disappointing. Manic was such a blast to listen to. Stigma felt like Manic’s B-sides that got left on the cutting room floor. Magnetic was a good song, but everything else was pretty forgettable. I’m a little surprised Skillet was only a dishonorable mention. As a longtime fan, I was really put off by their new one. John’s gone full “I am Christian Nationalist, hear me roar” and his lyrics are some of the most cringeworthy of the year. I’ve got tickets to meet them before a Winter Jam gig next year and I’m severely tempted to ask him…right before he HEADLINES AN ARENA SHOW…what exactly makes him so darn unpopular in the first place.
As someone from Huntsville, AL, I hate that he's wearing a Huntsville Havoc shirt in the image you used at 12:44. The Havoc deserves better than Hardy.
I can relate, especially with avoiding new music. It grinds me to think that there is some legit stuff out there that’s being ignored for such forgettable trash.
I can't help but feel like Ronnie was way better in Escape The Fate, and everything he's done since then has been for the worse for all of polite society
It continues to baffle me that FiR and Radke remain at all popular. At this it's gotta be some kind fake liking to be "ironic" or whatever, right? Right?
I’m glad FiR made this list because I’ve tried to listen to their stuff, and it just sucks….period. Radke is cringe, a giant crybaby (despite him claiming not to listen to the haters…he sure takes it personally), and he just genrehops too much and it’s not good. Looking forward to the Best of 2024 list!
All bands have haters, but no band has to make having haters their whole personality. I've seen plenty of online scraps, plenty of situations where formal apologies were called for, but nearly every musician moves on from it. Some will write a song or two, but if you disagree with their take they've still got plenty of normal material you can enjoy. I used to be interested in fir, but I read a few uncomfortable things about RR and decided to put them at the back of the shelf until they did some growing. It's been like eight years and these guys are STILL on their "everyone hates me but I'm too cool to care" bullshit and RR STILL doesn't know how to see his peers and fans as people worthy of respect. My brother, you're an adult. When are you gonna grow up?
'Psycho' by Hardy rips off 'abcdefu' by Gayle which rips off 'Your Love by The Outfield and I do not know where The Outfield got Your Love from but this is not the gift that keeps on giving
Look bro, only disagreement I have is you including "A Whole New Sound" in the dishonorable mentions. Personally, I enjoyed seeing it even if I think some of the covers could've been better. Personally was quite fond of Mayday Parade's cover of "Remember Me" in particular. But I also have long since realized I'm more into the pop punk scene than you are so that's also likely a factor in our disagreement here.
I’ll give Disney and pop punk credit. They both go hand-in-hand at being the biggest fall-offs in the current decade. And honestly, pop punk, in the modern era (2020 - present), is equivalent to the Disney live action remakes: all image and style, no substance.
@ I get that, but comparing the scene today to the scene in 2000 - 2009 and 2011 - 2018, it feels like wading through a sea of abysmal and obnoxious, MGK imitators with no skill in crafting a listenable tune to find the good stuff. And when you do find it, it feels as if you’ve heard the sound before but from someone doing it better.
I love how it seems like all these albums are for people who want to listen to rock, but don't know any better. Or they like them just to laugh at them.
Bit ironic of rr to complain about whiny fans. Who did he expect his whiny music to attract? (Though ofc in this case they did nothing wrong, cancelled shows do suck and as a band the least you can do is explain why you felt it was necessary to cancel)
Few notes on this - Skillet should been on the list, the song “Unpopular” is just John Cooper still not acknowledging that the band really fell off after the early 2010’s. (Sorry Juanes) - Totally understandable why Popular Monster is at number three and Falling in Reverse needs to break up now, they already cancelled a few shows and accept defeat. - Do I need an explanation on why Trapt was on the list? - I will repeat this again: Hardy. Shoud. Quit. Also the song “Rockstar” is just him making fallacies of himself.
Popular monster was nominated for album of the year over at Nik Nocturnal's awardable, so yeah, hell yeah they're popular as fuck. Your breakdown of the album was perfect. A few amazing passages in the album but oh my god the whining.
I think a Whole New Sound is pretty fun and had a good time with it. I like that they picked songs the usual disney cover albums don't pick like I2I and such. It may be because I'm a disney adult who adores Pop Punk and thats my favorite genre of music, I admit.
Only knew one of these records resisted but now I know to avoid them all. Any chance you're doing a "Best/Worst Live Show" list for the year? I'd be interested in your experiences in 2024
For the 2nd year in a row we agreed on the Worst album of the year. Quit by Hardy just made me want to vomit. I could have given it to Popular Monster by Failing in Revere (did I say the name right? Who Cares, they suck) but that would mean actually listening to it. I have better things to do with my time than that.
It's unfortunately not just the teenage edgelords that still support Falling in Reverse. I know a fully grown woman in her 30s who still does & supports specifically Ronnie Radke. I don't know why either, but politically & socially, she's not very smart, sadly.
Popular Monster's metalcore instrumentals I can find some enjoyment in, stock-sounding or otherwise. Unfortunately, the more poorly forced hip-hop moments and Radke himself (per usual) wrecked that enjoyment fast. I didn't listen to it by seeking it out. My coworkers played it and it was unavoidable.
What’s your Spotify Wrapped 2024 looking like, if you use Spotify that is? Here’s my top 5 songs this year 1. Loser, Baby 2. Sweet Hurt 3. Poison 4. Addict 5. Stayed Gone 4 out of those are all from the same show. I’m absolutely obsessed. God, I love Hazbin Hotel!
I feel like "Quit" was Hardy being self-aware and ironic about his circumstances, and not trying to adhere to the "country/bro rock" stigma. The songs "Rockstar" and "Radio Song" are prime examples of this. I'm no Hardy fan, but I still thought it was ok. Nothing earth-shattering, but definitely better than Trapt.
honestly thought popular monster would have been higher, but after seeing 2 and 1 I can see why it was only 3rd. I'll admit it that I'm probably in the minority with the six feet under record that I found it pretty okay. i felt more let down by deicide's album this year.
I know it’s late, but might as well give my two cents where I can. I already said my piece on popular monster a number of times. Even if there are worse sounding albums out there, even if it does have some decent qualities (I don’t even mind the breakdowns sounding similar…I’m a sucker for them. Idc), I still believe it deserves the top spot for what it represents and how successful it is. I will say I am kind of surprised to see Six Feet Under’s Killing for revenge on here, not because I like the album (I haven’t even listened to it in full), but because this album was honestly an improvement from their previous record from 2020 “Nightmares of the decomposed” which was an absolute trainwreck. I almost wonder where you’d rank that album on your worst list if you went back and listened to it…but that would require you to listen to NOTD which is the last thing you should do (Seriously, Chris Barnes’s vocals are a whole lot worse on that album, especially with the trademark EEEEE’s that he’s become infamous for, which are mercifully absent from KFR). Also surprised yet unsurprised to see Trapt on here after last time they released something, you brushed it off with a “what’s a Trapt?” I did expect Hardy to take the #1 spot and I wasn’t disappointed. I didn’t even bother listening to anything else from him after hearing “Rockstar”. There is something clearly wrong when even Nickelback can outdo you on your own song. And Motley Crue can piss off to a retirement home. The title track alone deserves to burn in a massive fire for reasons that the metal meltdown has described better than I can.
It never fails, usually the music I actually liked quite a bit lands on your Worst list. I loved Stigma. Especially their B-sides, but the general consensus seems to be negative for it.
Woah woah woah! Falling in Reverse is only at number 3? I'm scared about what's higher... Oh no... Trapt had a new album... and that's only number 2. I'm scared for number 1...
Big Wage War fan here: I personally thought an album like Stigma was a bit of an inevitability when you consider the attention and radio play tracks from Manic got, but I was still surprised. I brushed off magnetic, thinking essentially "Oh, it'll be the radio song, the rest of the album will be hard hitting" and... while it had tracks I enjoyed, it was to a point where it didn't feel like a Wage War album.
I got heavies for my friends and I with the collaboration for bullet for my valentine. I hope 2025 will be a great for bullet. Last album was alright but I'm really hoping the new stuff will be good
I saw Skillet's new album at my local record store, brand new at full price. I honestly didn't know what to say. I mean, I saw them live with Seether, so I knew it was coming, but I still couldn't believe it.
I know I don't need to, but I'm going to apologize to you anyway for having to listen to that Trapt album. I only heard small snippets of the songs on there and I felt like my soul was leaving my body.
Honestly Ik this will be a hot take but Linkin Parks newest Album was horrible. It made me go buy tickets to watch the Cover band Hybrid Theory which is Honestly the closest thing we have to chesters voice
Somehow I watched the downfall of trapt video, waited a bit, then watched this video, and completely forgot trapt released a record this year until it came up
I’m glad you pointed out the similar breakdowns fir have. I think using a pitch shifter with every song is cheating. Every once in a while it’s okay but having PM and Zombified having basically the same format annoys me. I didn’t to the rest of the album because I don’t care. Ronnie is annoying
Shocked to see Wage War make the list, but also shocked I see your point. I can't argue anyway, I am certainly biased and both me and my fiancé enjoy a few songs together. Hopefully the next album is a banger!
The only thing I partially disagree with is Popular Monster, I was a little disappointed that the entire thing was just the singles and 3 new songs compiled together. But I like the modern sound FIR has been going for, I love the early stuff too but its a refreshing change of pace over the years. That album compared to The Drug In Me Is You is almost like an entire new band. Yes I know the lineup is different. Most of those songs go really well in the gym.
Popular Monster had a couple of skips but the album as a hole gets way too overhated. I don’t know why Ronnie Radke decided to try online gambling though, that was something I hadn’t heard about until just now, and there was probably a reason for that considering I don’t like people who do activities like that.
To be fair, Six Feet Under haven't released anything good or even passable since "Bringer of Blood." That was back in 2003. Ronnie Radke and Friends deserve a free spot on the worst list every year no matter what they release.

I remember the first time I heard Headstrong on the radio. I remember saying "I feel like I SHOULD like this but I don't." I now realize it was so generic that I couldn't latch on to anything that stood out. Trapt sucks.
That song still rips hell no 😊
@@whowastheoneguy4719 hard disagree but all art is subjective and all.
Chris Trashbag Brown and Ronnie Radke will collaborate and make a song about how badass it is to groom couches in the White House. JD Vance will endorse the single and appear in the music video disguised as a human.
that is a fact.
Just thinking about that possibility gives me PTSD
I had the best news of my life! Finally, Falling in Reverse is *not* coming to the UK after all out of the Home Office cancelling his visa! I'm spared of having to see people happily posting their selfies at their concerts.
So, I just viewed this at the most perfect time!
So you're just a stupid hater that wants to spoil the fun for others...
And people say the Home Office is incompetent.
There probably would have been a 73% chance he cancelled the show anyways.
You're telling me, in this, the year of our lord 2024, there was a new trapt album? Ain't no way.
They're not stopping anytime.. they're Headstrong after all.
@GarryLarryBarry the horrors never cease
I forgot they existed until about a week ago when Chris decided to get upset over some random list Loudwire published and Trapt weren’t on it, lol.
You are most likely one of the like 5 people who even listened to the new Trapt album hehe
It's not an honor.
Naw, that’s offensive to 13 year olds.
As big as brexit?
Radke: Guys! Seriously! I'm the main reason why the UK even has an economy, OKAY!?! 🤡
Weird bc a lot of things I see show the UK being okay with a lot of terrible crimes. Maybe seek asylum and do a show?
I’ve got tickets to meet them before a Winter Jam gig next year and I’m severely tempted to ask him…right before he HEADLINES AN ARENA SHOW…what exactly makes him so darn unpopular in the first place.

there, 5 paragraph response ;)
More like a 5 sentence response ;)
As someone from Huntsville, AL, I hate that he's wearing a Huntsville Havoc shirt in the image you used at 12:44. The Havoc deserves better than Hardy.
I typically avoid the newest music anymore because it’s usually garbage. It sounds horrible and innovative musicians and bands are ignored anymore.
Right?
People just like different shit. People like you love to hate. It's part of your personality. Many of us just want to listen to music.
Radle is the Hawk tuah girl of rock
It ain't really the end of the year until the music channels release their lists
'Psycho' by Hardy rips off 'abcdefu' by Gayle which rips off 'Your Love by The Outfield and I do not know where The Outfield got Your Love from but this is not the gift that keeps on giving
Ripping off abcdefu is wild. Tortoises all the way *down* huh
OK, so it wasn't just me hearing "abcdefu" in that godawful song. Hardy doesn't even have the excuse of being an overemotional teenager 😤
“I personally will respond to every 5 paragraph response.” Your funeral my dude.
There’s good modern pop punk, it’s just overshadowed by shitty MGK imitators and “DID I JUST WRITE THE SONG OF THE SUMMER???” guys
Hardy is like the new Kid Rock, but more boring
Bit ironic of rr to complain about whiny fans. Who did he expect his whiny music to attract? (Though ofc in this case they did nothing wrong, cancelled shows do suck and as a band the least you can do is explain why you felt it was necessary to cancel)
hardy looks like kid rock from the 2000s
Few notes on this
- Skillet should been on the list, the song “Unpopular” is just John Cooper still not acknowledging that the band really fell off after the early 2010’s. (Sorry Juanes)
- Totally understandable why Popular Monster is at number three and Falling in Reverse needs to break up now, they already cancelled a few shows and accept defeat.
In speaking of Six Feet Under, how did "Nightmares of the Decomposed" not make the 2020 list?
I think a Whole New Sound is pretty fun and had a good time with it. I like that they picked songs the usual disney cover albums don't pick like I2I and such. It may be because I'm a disney adult who adores Pop Punk and thats my favorite genre of music, I admit.
Ronnie the clown's solo album appeared five times in a row on this list, which was well-deserved.
I just heard Skillet's song Unpopular and noped out of all new music from that band.
Wage War's new album was indeed heartbreaking to listen to.
Yeah I'm glad I took a break from Skillet.
Hardy looks like he’s having a hardytack on stage
I can’t imagine being in a massively successful band and making fun of my fans for being upset that they didn’t get to see my band play.
Like. What.
What’s your Spotify Wrapped 2024 looking like, if you use Spotify that is?
Here’s my top 5 songs this year
1. Loser, Baby
2. Sweet Hurt
3. Poison
4. Addict
5. Stayed Gone
4 out of those are all from the same show.
Falling in Reverse, because apparently somebody went “what if Adin Ross was 40, got a guy killed and fronted Bring Me the Horizon?”
Rather listen to Wage War over Skillet or the New Motley Crue
honestly thought popular monster would have been higher, but after seeing 2 and 1 I can see why it was only 3rd.
Also surprised yet unsurprised to see Trapt on here after last time they released something, you brushed it off with a “what’s a Trapt?”
I did expect Hardy to take the #1 spot and I wasn’t disappointed.
The one redeeming quality of Hardy is his drummer, Harry Miree. That guy is awesome. 👍👍
I already know what's gonna be on the Best Albums of 2024, I see it in the background 👀
I'm surprised that while covering "Killing For Revenge", you didn't touch upon that god awful Nazareth cover as the final track
We know "Popular Monster" the track is great so at least there's that. We can listen to that and not cringe.
Big Wage War fan here:
I personally thought an album like Stigma was a bit of an inevitability when you consider the attention and radio play tracks from Manic got, but I was still surprised.
FiR had some decent parts. I can't confidently put them at the worst.
Wearing that hockey jersey make Hardy look like a Kevin Smith cosplayer.
this video is how I found out HARDY put out another album this year, man that really came and went huh
TBH, I liked the pop punk cover of I2I from The Goofy Movie.
Honestly Ik this will be a hot take but Linkin Parks newest Album was horrible. It made me go buy tickets to watch the Cover band Hybrid Theory which is Honestly the closest thing we have to chesters voice
I think it was better than one more light, but that wasn't hard to beat
To be completely honest I didn’t even know trapt still made music i thought they faded into obscurity after headstrong
Somehow I watched the downfall of trapt video, waited a bit, then watched this video, and completely forgot trapt released a record this year until it came up
8:26 you just came up with a new motto for Kick
Ronnies attitude makes his music worse even if some of the songs are good respectfully
0:35 I would much rather listen to people talk about things they like than things they don't.
Yeah, I agree. It can be tiring to listen to someone complain. I get giving criticism, but a lot is just hate watching/listening.
My worst albums of 2024:
From Hell I Rise by Kerry King
Killing for Revenge by Six Feet Under
Dark Side of The Brain by Flat Black
Quit by Hardy
Why Flat Black? I actually enjoyed it. It wasn't great, but I did like a lot of the songs on it
@ It was just too repetitive for my taste. If you enjoyed it, that’s fine.
Rock Worst album of year
1. Imagine Dragons LOOM
2. Coldplay Moon Music
3. Hardy quit
4. Trapt the fall
@@maryannappiagyei4277Imagine Dragons and Coldplay are absolutely not rock.
Hey man, don’t lump Presbyterians in with those megachurch weirdos
I honestly don’t get people who disagree with the opinions in these videos. They’re right and spot on.
Based, I worked out to the album before and it really moves me
Top 5 Bands Rocked thinks is cool to holding a grudge against and talk trash about.
