Towle tagged you? No way! 😂
Hey, I don't really buy any of it for a second, but that alien encounter nonsense fascinates me. It's especially entertaining when the tales shed far more light on the teller than on any remotely plausible occurrence. "Sure buddy. I totally believe the aliens repeatedly traverse the inconceivably vast and perilous sweep of interstellar space out of sheer fascination with your ... "
Solzhenitzyn? (I've read some ... not that one.) Straub? (Want to try him this year.) Clancy? (I've read both those.) Chunky SF? Follett? (Been wanting to try Pillars forever.) So much intriguing stuff here! All the best with it. I look forward to hearing what you think of the ones you get to. Have a good one!

Yeah I think that perfectly describes how I think about the entries into the UFO book. More of a study on the sources than the events.

Executive Orders was good! Although I think I read it between 19 and 21 yrs ago, I still remember the part at the auto show! (Vague on purpose)
    I can't answer bc I didn't make any 2025 plans.
Fun fact the guy who coined the term U.F.O. wanted it pronounced like "you foe" and ufology is pronounced "you‐fall‐ogy", the more modern trem is U.A.P. for "unidentified aerial phenomena" which is pronounced as a letter by letter acronym.
The similar book I read was z"The Mothman Prophecies", which is almost entirely alien conspiracy nonsence. (I loathe that book but liked the movie)

Also romances can be huge. The Outlander series books are giant, and stuff like ACOTAR, or Mallory Dunlin books. And classics many romances are large enough to be building material lol

@@zachreads Ahhhhh I remember the Mothman Prophecies movie trailer. I never saw the movie but was intrigued by the trailer. Thanks for the pronunciation guide! I don’t think the book came with one… 🤷‍♂️ I’m excited for the book though!!

@@zachreads Yeah I know that romances can be big, especially romantasy but the stereotypical romance is the mass market paperback you find at Walmart or you used to find in the vertical book shelf near the checkout line at the grocery store. That’s what I was thinking/referring to. Westerns can also be cinder blocks but they too are typically shorter. In fact, they are on average the shortest book genre I own and I own about 200 of them. Sci fi books, especially older ones are also often pretty short. Then you have Battlefield Earth…
