Hello from Japan. Was very impressed by your demo video and followed your link. My questions are 1) for the premium program how long does it last? Is lifetime access or 1 year then renewed again or what? The policy on that is not clear, please clarify. 2) do students submit work or do you give advice if we ask you to? 3) I’m very interested in joining your course, but do you give private lessons also? Thank you for great video! Sincerely
@lindawakiyama1603 Thanks for liking it! All of our courses are lifetime access. You gain access and that's yours forever. You can download them as well as having access to them on our website forever. Students submit their work for assignments as they come out and we'll use some for critique videos. But some instructors give advice as they see students share their work, even outside of assignments. Some of our instructors do lessons in other places but we do not offer private lessons outside of our normal course structure on Proko.
Even with these free previews, I can see why it took Marshall YEARS to finish this course. The scripting and the production quality--- *sunglasses* ---puts things in perspective!
We apprecaite the pun lol. It was definitely a big undertaking! Perspective can be scary with how technical and mathy it seems. Marshall did a great job of makign it all much more approachable with this course. Thanks for the feedback on it!
All these years and the Proko channel still making true, encouraging, and realistic content about the fundamentals or art. I will never not recommend this channel.
I've got you covered on the acronym: DA FOC As in "What DA FOC is my drawing missing? What DA FOC should I have left out? Where DA FOC is my pencil?!? I need to practice these!"
Marshall I bought your perspective course a number of years ago. It was the BEST money I have ever spent on improving my art. I refer back to it over and over again. ( Some day I might get a full grasp on all the knowledge the it imparts. ) I would encourage everyone to invest in this if in nothing else.
One thing I love about Marhsall's teaching is that he gets you excited about what would seem a boring and intimidating subject like perspective :)Thanks for the great resource as always. I'm sure things will get more challenging as the course progresses...but here's hoping I can stick with it while having some fun!
Not surprised to see Marshall getting his students to select their perspective parents/favourites! Such a great approach! Can’t wait to take on this course!
I am impatient to get this course when i can ❤ also the bonus with Marshall's way of speaking is that you end up feeling deeply relaxed about the topic you're learning... (which is, actually, very valuable!)
This video explanation is art it self, I am practicing these things from months I gotten so much better now, I am moving going through anatomy and and facial expressions, once I master this I will move towards inking ❤, it's hard now but I am sure I will be one day able to print my imagination on paper, if not 100 percent then at least 90 to 96% of it 💯👌✨
Wow from all the aspects of art, perspective has never been my favorite at all, necessary yes, but always found it boring but this demo changed my mind! I never thought I could find a lesson in perspective so interesting and engaging!
Marshall your perspective lectures inspire me every time to keep giving perspective a shot. There is knowledge inside these words and I wish I could afford your newest perspective class.
This gets me so excited to learn more! I am just an amateur and I need to get a better grip on the basics first, but I can't wait to tackle the perspective course when I'm ready!
And i want you to make a lot of money from it and spend it on employing passionate older artists that dont make enough as teachers in some sort of artschool network that offer mentorships for the young ones that dont have support from home. Oh. Did i just describe a better world i want to live in.
You guys did a “how to draw perspective video” and had a blob to box technique, I was wondering if you could do that video again but make a whole body, it helped me a lot but I didn’t get too much other then how to transform the blob
I already know about aerial perspective and how its works, but still wondering how to apply it on my drawing while keep the color looks natural. for example if I drawing a background on the paper with pencil, the trick is erase a far away object a little to make it looks vanish. But digital drawing with color can't use those tricks, I trying to use gradient but it makes the color looks kinda unnatural
I get where you're coming from You can do exactly what you mentioned in digital, though! It'll feel a little different and using the gradient tool might make you do too much or too even of a fade for the distant objects. Try using an eraser tool instead of the gradient. You might not want it to be that smooth of a falloff of the background because the fade with distance wouldn't be as strong or even as that gradient tool will make it.
Perspective points confused me so frustratingly much when I was learning it. one, two, or even three points never felt like they worked when drawing from real life, because not everything converged at the same points, it was too limiting. I didnt know how to articulate this problem though, and couldnt find any answers, so I just gave up on learning perspective for so long!
I really like the video, was very educational but the drawing at 3:14 is clearly wrong because walls on the outside suggests that all objects inside are laying on the same plane and they aren't :(
All really helpful and so on. But the question i am asking myself....RIGHT NOW! 0.0 .... Why the heck, dit it never come into my mind... to use a damn peace of paper (or maybe stencil of some kind) for clean shading?! xD You can study this stuff for years and nonetheles learn allways someting new, just from listening and watching ^^
Ah multiple vanishing points that go off the drawing so far away that they’re probably in the next room, the bane of my drawing existence. But seriously am I the only one who is annoyed by 2 or 3 point perspective trying to draw cities relatively large without a drafting table.
Learning to separate the nude human body from being inherently sexual will serve you well in life! The body is just a fact of life. Sometimes, it's just there hanging out, ya know? But some people have a harder time with that than others and that's okay, as long as it doesn't affect anyone outside of themselves. For the purpose of learning art, try to just focus on the knowledge you're building up. Try drawing just the forms of those you're not attracted to as an exercise in building up that separation between "nude" and "sex". But if you continue to have a hard time with it, just use reference or video that feature those in swimsuits and things like that.
Everything here is just good, old-fashioned human-made art teachin'! Marshall put blood, sweat, and tears into these perfectly delivered voiceovers 💪 He hand-drew any of the assets that aren't credited on screen to the other wonderful artists who contributed their time on this over the last 11 years of work on the course. But we appreciate if you thought it was too good for any mere HUMAN'S abilities to make. We agree. Marshall's too powerful.

The lessons get lighter towards the back of the video

Marshall truly has a wonderful narrative voice, a man of way too many talents to count 👏

I'm totally stealing this.

those "ha ha" from Marshall when the magic happens, are priceless. wish i could play some Marshall reaction on my drawings from time to time

This channel has been a fantastic resource, and the narrator has such a lovely, introspective voice

Thank you Marshall ❤ and Stan for the video 👍
Let this man cook!!! ❤❤❤❤
This video is so accurate that you can use the EXACT same techniques to make music sound like it's in a 3D space.
Very clear and concise language. Really enjoyed this video!

Ur amazing
1 use a 3d program
2 make the model
3 apply some drawing filter
make the 2d art❌
make 3d art just to make it 2d✅

Hello
This is because the laminar flow is distributed evenly through the vanishing points of the portraits you are printed

Nope, it's all video featuring humans, made by human hands.
