Been looking forward to this -- great collection! Kevin recommended Revival to me as well. If you're interested in buddy reads, Crichton, Cook, Clancy, Grisham, Straub, Koontz, and King are some writers I'm interested in or with whom I've already had a good track record. That being said, my interests are pretty wide ranging and I'm always looking for something new, so if there's anything in particular you're seeking a buddy reader on -- be it fiction, nonfiction, traditional, independent, or whatever -- let me know. I want to "read down" my shelves, but I'm not opposed to limited new purchases. Also, I've had some medical "drama" crop up over the last few days that has me in the mood to keep my reading on the "lighter" side at least for a while, but I'll probably be back to deciding if I want to try learning to read Coptic soon enough. 🙄 Have a good one!

@@BryanM.R.-prionic1 Sounds like a Crichton and/or Cook buddy read should be in the works! I have 3 grants due Jan 15th so I’m not committing to anything before that.

Revival is a really good King! I fully support that rec!
Terminal Man is one of my fav Chricgton books!
You also mentioned Beowulf, "The Eaters of the Dead" by Chrichton is a Beowulf retelling that I enjoyed.
Sometimes Hallmark romances are just someting quick and fun, i just got "Set the Record Straight" by Hannah Bonam-Young specifically for the low drama cookie cutter hallmarkesque vibes.

I've been back to creep more thoroughly over your academic, religious, and serial killer book sections. 😜
I'm not sure I recognized anything from your Bible stuff except one of the concordances. Been running searches to learn more. I have both the Anchor and IVP Bible Dictionary sets. Sometimes I sit and read random things from them recreationally. Hey, I could and probably do have worse vices. 😉 I also have a New Jerome as a pretty good single volume commentary. I'd love to collect the Anchor commentaries on individual books, but that would be quite an investment. In the meantime, I dig through the writings of the Church Fathers. They're meaty and easily obtained cheaply or for free. I've been picking away at St. Augustine's expositions of the Psalms lately. Good stuff.

@@BryanM.R.-prionic1 Swindol, Spurgeon, Yancey, and Oswald Chambers are pretty well-known in the Baptist circles. You can get ebooks for most of the church fathers for free. I have Augustine and Luther. I also have Jonathan Edwards and George Whitefield sermons if you are familiar with the itinerant preachers in the Great Awakening. I do all of this through iBooks.
Oh and I’m about to pick up a set of books you might find fascinating. I have a feeling I’m going to lose a lot of time in them. I’ll post about them when I get them. They’re a small investment.
