I got mine at the end of october and I quite enjoy it. Its one of my fav HGs, both design wise and lore wise (its the precursor to the Nadleeh, Virtue, and Artemie)
I see this kit as a very nice looking display piece for plutone, I don't see me doing crazy poses with it but rather I'd display it inline with the other hg 00 kits to show the generational progression of the gundams which really helps flesh out the the build up story of 00

After the events of Awakening of the Trailblazer, due to the ESF deciding to construct the bare minimum needed new GN Drives, most GN-XIVs were retrofitted into the GN-XIV Core Fighter Loaded Type, which is exactly what the name suggests
It’s never going happen, but I wish they would make a kit on the series preproduction design of Exia, codenamed Pawn Gundam, as the initial design concepts of the gundams were based on chess pieces.

I can confirm from the build instructions I have, that the GN thrusters don’t flip up like their supposed to. They just press onto the shoulder armor pieces.
I think Plutone's bulkiness is justified by the fact that it is the predecessor unit of Virtue and Nadleeh. Also, according to Gundam Wiki, those yellow round thing on its armor is actually GN Field generation devices, not GN thrusters

I believe it is just Plu-tone not plu-toe-nay. As in Pluto. (I could see the name reappearing in Build Divers Re:Rise as well.) It is the unit that was developed in to the Nadleeh, Virtue, and Artemie/GN Archer.
Bandai needs to make HG00 Revive kits. I expect we’ll get another P-Bandai in the form of HG00 GNY-004B Gundam Plutone Black later. It’s always great when Bandai releases more kits from Mobile Suit Gundam 00.
It's a cool looking Mobile Suit, a bit different than most of the MS designs I'm used to from 00 but still fits with the other MS designs, (note, I have 0% knowledge of any of the side stories from the 00 universe). But man with all those GN thrusters in the front on the shoulder armor and side skirts, it looks like it's meant to go backwards better than forward... I'm sure I'll catch a bit of flack from that but a really cool looking MS, with core fighter too, if it wasn't P-Bandai i'd running out to add it to my collection for sure.
While I’m sure they would work as thrusters, they are used as GN field emitters, as Plutone was used to develop GN field technology and was the predecessor to Virture/Nadleeh.
@@aicybot1905 Right, cool now I remember how the Virture and Nadleeh created their GN fields, so I get it now (no back ground knowledge of the Plutone's story, I actually now want to go check it out now) but you gotta admit all those 1st season, I guess 2nd gen MS's, the GN thrusters and GN field emitters look the same, it really comes down to how the MS is internally designed... so cool...
@@aicybot1905 I'll have to take a closer look at that, you can kinda get an idea of how an MS functions by watching the show or reading the story but I have found it's only after I've built the MS model kit can I really understand all awesome details of the functionality of the design... that's why I love this stuff
Awww....you mean the gn field producing vents don't protrude or move? Like normally the shoulder armor is supposed to flip up and various parts of the armor somewhat unfold but I guess that isn't included in the hg? :/
I own the resin kit of this from about ten years ago but never built it as I'm having to keep taking long breaks from Gunpla. It's sad I'll not be able to buy this outside of scalper prices as would love to compare both kits.
After looking over the build instructions, the shoulder thrusters (GN particle emitters) do not flip up out of the way like Plutone is designed. This explains in part why the articulation suffers.

The under arm armor is a backup for the gn field, where the outer armor will protect the inter armor layer
The reason it bends backward is because it gives it more flexibility to use the beam saber without the bulk getting in the way
