@@id10terror15 I'm not denying that or calling you a lier I'm saying that it's funny because I'm the first episode he read, acknowledge and even held down the button and commented on it.
No arguments there about the Episode Ignis. Basically when the party support becomes the main character. I have nothing but high praise to the team in charge of that DLC since even with the short amount of time they had, they were somehow able to make Ravus of all people a more relatable character than Lunafreya. I really wanted to explore Insomnia in the base game, and fortunately the Ardyn DLC gave me that opportunity, even if it was in a small area and just for a few hours and without the assasin creed-esque movement. Story, wise I get what they were trying to do with his story, but like what I've previously mentioned before, I had hoped that his motivations were made clearer in the base game. Lastly, I definitely appreciate the effort both the FFXIV and FFXV team did for their collaboration. The different versions of Garuda crossing over the other series FF's world was such a nice touch (I also love/hate that they added Allagan Tomestone farming in FFXV 😆). Hopefully the upcoming XIV and XVI collaboration goes just as well.
Ngl it's kind of interesting hearing MIke's praise for the Ignis DLC combat given that in essence it's very similar to XVI's combat. Less focus on the RPG (the elements don't really matter for weakness just function, single controllable character, no real item management) and more on simple and smooth action.
Considering the short length of the dlc and in comparison to the main game I can see why he enjoyed it that much. That combat would get old quick if it was for the full game, but just for the 2 hour experience it’s fine
I was a bit surprised that in spite of preach liking the ignis gameplay as much as he did, that he didnt end up playing as Ignis in the open world lategame.
The thing that gets me about FF15 is how much wasted potential it was. So many critical gaps in the story and plot that's either missing or locked behind alternate content makes it hard to experience as it was supposed to be. If you only played the game especially it was jarring, and for me I ended up not even being invested in the game by the time it finishes abruptly.
The novel was not originally meant to be part of the experience. It was made after the fact because they cancelled the second lot of dlc so they turned the aborted material into a book
Royal Edition in Windows is good. Plus there are lots of hidden mechanics post-game that makes it worth replaying. Armiger Unleashed + Rare Metal was a game changer, as well as the vortex weapons, the menace dungeons.
Was salty about 15. Played Ep. Prompto and drowned in brine, gave up on XV. So yeah, missed out on Ignis, but at that point, I really didn't care. This breakdown is enough for me.
So glad that chapter Ignis did not dissapoint, I rmeber playing that one over and over cause it's just that good! The game was originally released in a chaptered format, with each dlc dropping at a specific date world wide. It was an odd time for final fantasy back then ^^;; they had planned 6 dlc's from memeory. If you liked the ff14 content I highly recommend doing the assassins creed one too! They had a lot of fun with that one as well, trust haha
The garuda weapons aren't just glams they're full weapons and have stats and when upgraded become some of the strongest in the entire game. Highly suggest getting at least the one handed sword it's insanely good
Out of all final fantasy games that need a remake it's FF15. With proper leadership and writers it would make an amazing game. FF15 has so much potential and has a great story if you do the work to get it all together. I would love to give them another shot at it
Mike skipped the credits from the ignis DLC verse 2... Ardyn was alive after their fight and the end is Noctis going to fight him with ignis having his sight and Ravus alive best ending imo
Its a stupid ending imo, has no impact, same as the ending the novel wanted to tell. The og ending was perfect, the problem was that the middle of the story didn't really exist.
@ionutalexandru3645 nah it wasn't perfect it was bad too game had good side stuff but msq was bad it is. I can't believe imma say this but I think 13 has a better story I always though 15 was a mess but after seeing Mike play it all the hidden ptsd return and is terrible like no mainline ff has this horrible storytelling
@ionutalexandru3645 u said ending was perfect I said it was bad same as the whole msq the good stuff was them being friends but the ending is the whole im the chosen one mixed with the ultimate sacrifice and cause the story was so badly handle it doesn't land I never felt like noctis grew up. Then is like so you have been guiding me so you can kill me unlike all the other times you could have easily ardyn was interesting and then at the ending he's just bad guy ...so noctis kills him by dying...and oh nvm ... It is the perfect ending giving lunafreya Cindy cleavage picture that was the perfect ending...forget everything else
So its kind of insane how the last DLC was released. Because like the previous set it was announced as 4 with Ardyn to be the kick off. But like a month after the announcement the main guy who was leading the project just cancelled everything and left the company. This game has some of the weirdest history ever. Especially because it lead to what was a lot of bad blood inside the company. Im glad Square didnt try this again with 16. But this game really is just one of the messiest games Ive ever liked.
I hope lady bex finds in her research that this game had 2 demos (if i remember correctly) that had a limited run also had bits of the story. The way ff15 story got told through multiple media was horrid
1.0 was largely caused by yhe original dev teams hubris while FF15's problems were the result of having too much ambition and getting stuck in development hell.
FFXV may have pulled a Xenogears by running out of time and money just as the story was starting to get good (or even starting to exist), but XIV 1.0 failed at a fundamental design level in every imaginable way and then some.
No you aren't. I'm really looking forward to it. Based on today's stream, Mike is also really excited to get to 13 and find out what it is all about. We'll see if he regrets that later.
I can't watch his streams live, but I already know people are going to rail on it endlessly more than they did this game. Even if this game is the worst FF to have ever been released and is just an absolute abomination of a game that has no redeeming qualities (coming from a launch date player) people still somehow think this thing is better than 13. And 13 is a complete, self-contained game that doesn't even require you to play 2 or 3 to get the story. That's how stupid some people are. I am a huge 13 series enjoyer and think it is far more deserving of the title Final Fantasy than even 10 and DEFINITELY 15.
@@MetalMaidenDeth 13 was more complete as a game (even if some people say you need to read the data logs but I didn’t feel you needed tbh, just background stuff) I had more fun with 15. The fact that 13 is just a coridor for 10 chapters is really boring. All you can do is kill monsters and advance to the next cutscene.
I’m still amazed that Preach made it to the end of the main story as Noctis without knowing he could just hold down the attack button.
Funny because I believe he read it, acknowledge it and did it in the first episode I believe he even commented on it.

And let’s not forget the open world is huge and there’s nothing to do in it.
Out of bounds exploration videos of ff15 are the most interesting thing ever. There's so much unfinished and inaccessible stuff there.
Episode Ignis brought multiple tears to my eyes at the ending with him and Noct. One of the best moments in the entire series for me.

Which is stupid. Why keep the best until after you’ve finished the game. That’s like XVI where there’s a ton of quests right before the final battle.

8-the last three were Aranea, Lunafreya, and Noct I think? The last one would have had the alternate ending.
the most recognized fan theory is that the real villain is Bahamut, not Ardyn, but its terribly explained in game if so
The garuda weapons aren't just glams they're full weapons and have stats and when upgraded become some of the strongest in the entire game. Highly suggest getting at least the one handed sword it's insanely good

After FF done I want him to play Yakuza
Don't believe him he didn't get the last hat
if anything, FF15 has such an interesting development history to dig into.
