Jonathan Banks (Mike) came up with this idea about Mike and his son way back in Breaking Bad.. he told Vince and Peter "thats not my daughter, thats my daughter in law".. and told him the son getring killed scenario. Cut to 6 years later, they used it as his official backsfory.
Who knew way back when that Mike would be the one to wring the emotion out of you. Character actors rarely get opportunities to shine like Jonathan Banks got in BB and BCS. One of the reasons these shows are so good is the casting. So much of American tv is just pretty people saying stuff and doing things as the show rushes from plot point to plot point, spoon feeding the audience the story. These two shows got the best talent, drawing from all genres, (heavily from comedy), and allows them to shine with brilliant dialogue, and subtle camera work. It's remarkable really. Another show that did that was Broadchurch. The Wire is another one that makes leads out of character actors, giving them depth and humor among the tragedy and pathos.
In Breaking Bad, Hank does ask Mike about the end of his tenure as a cop in Philly, and if he’d like to talk about it, to which Mike says not particularly. Jonathan Banks was nominated for an Emmy for this, and even the winner, Peter Dinklage, acknowledged him in his acceptance speech. Part of the egregious 0-57 Emmys record in terms of nominations/wins this show has, despite all the great character moments and scenes you will bear witness to.
This is one of my all time fav BCS episodes, such great writing! Btw In Breaking Bad Mike said with regret that he took "half measures" by threatening the guy with a gun when in fact he should've pulled the trigger then that girl would've lived.
Awesome but Emotional 😢Reaction Krissy but how can you now get Emotional with this Episode...😢 Brilliant acting from Jonathan Banks...you can see why now he had a "soft" spot from Jessie at least that's my opinion. The Episode you are referring to was called Half Measures BB Season 3 Ep 12. Rewatch if you have time... It's amazes me how just one line from BB was the entire inspiration for this Series.. the dialogne in this Series is awesome its like putting a puzzle together. Keep Safe ❤
This is one of my favorite episodes, not just of BCS but the entire BB/BCS universe. Jonathan Banks absolutely knocked it out of the park.
100% agree!

"I broke my boy." 😭
That line and 'I was the only one that could get him to debase himself...' are heartstoppers. Such a great monologue.

Such a great episode and great acting from Jonathan Banks , it's a shame the girls acting is pretty poor tho.
I see this complaint a lot, but I think her acting is fine...
you mean Oscar Nominee Kerry Condon?
less acting isn't necessarily bad acting
To be honest, I never really noticed her, I was glued to Mike.
@@libra_v3 No, but she sounds like she's reading the lines from a piece of paper.
