I wish they would use a synthetic media (like PRBoss)!!! Then PERFECTION! I would ONLY use OEM if they did that GM can, Id pay more for it, especially with this change.
Thanks for the detailed video. I appreciate the content. I don't know enough about oil filters to really understand what I am looking for in a super quality oil filter. I purchased a new 2023 GMC 3500 with 6.6L GAS. (truck only has 3200 miles). I assumed the OEM was the preferred oil filter. But I've read about Purolator, STP, WIX, PPE, and other brands that I thought were inferior to OEM. What is one looking for in a high quality filter and what are the better quality oil filters. I figure since its job is to protect engine from contaminants, it be worth to try and find the BEST (if there is such a thing) one can buy?
I’m still browsing all your 3.0 content. Freaking lots man. Good info. Have you cut open the PPE one? Also, have you ever had any rattle/buzzing coming from the exhaust while idling?
I will link the oil filter video on the bottom of this message. Yes, a rattle/buzz is likely from the exhaust backpressure valve (2023/2024 trucks) you can have it replaced and it typically just comes right back. Some people have taken theirs apart and put some grease in there and it quieted it down, I have not tried that. ua-cam.com/video/eZb_nc2QOfg/v-deo.html
@@DemonWorks sorry to bother you again brother…that’s the valve that’s right before the muffler? Or is that up under the dpf? Btw got yourself a new sub!
Still junk. The spring/bypass sitting in the end cap will leak and allow oil to go through unfiltered. The amount of holes doesn't change the amount of flow as the restriction would still be the total available out of the outlet which hasn't changed (total area inlet vs outlet). I have since gone to Wix for my LM2.
I have a video on the cutaways of all filters, I found the Wix to be decent compared to others, like the STP and PPE looking the best. As for the flow, I understand what you are saying but that is assuming the prior style input was matching the output.
You’re a tool bro, it’s very good to know what’s in these filters. I don’t use ac delco in my duramax because the filters I kept grabbing all had contaminants in them. Like everyone ACDelco filter I grabbed
looks like they are made by Champion Labs. with that plastic core. Same ones that are branded as SuperTech at walmart
I wonder what the differences are between the PF63 and the UPF63R
I have a UPF63r sitting here that I can cut up and we can see the internals.

Go Microgard select even the gasket is synthetic
These AC Delco filters look great with high flow I wish their micron rating was better because they look awesome. Thanks for your content

Do all the AC Delco oil filters have metal end caps now ?
I am not sure I understand? these oil filters all have metal end caps
No, depends on what model you get!
I have three vehicles that call for the PF63. I use a Mobil 1 M1 212A in all of them. Why would i consider the PF 63? I wouldn’t .
Superb !
I don't know why they don't use silicone ADBV!
Great video but where do you buy them, even GM Parts Online still list old number?
Currently, only from the dealer
Wal mart
Summit Racing
I saw this company. There oil bypass system look legit. Can you try out this system. Want to see what you think.
anyone try ordering see if they got the new or old variant?
just ordered a six pack of filters and all are the new style....under warranty with my truck so using OEM for now

Couldn't agree more.canned element.
AC Delco filters continue to be junk. Will not run them on my L5P Gen 2. Purolator Boss are in another league.
I will stick with wix and Baldwin filters
Awesome ! Check out this video comparing even more filters, including WIX ua-cam.com/video/G-gHxiQQ8z4/v-deo.html
9 minutes to say they're the same exact filter except for flow rate.
What else would you like me to do?
Looks like a waste of 2 good filters
You had enough interest to click the video then watch to see whats inside, so I think it was a good value for you. You're welcome.
@@DemonWorks Oh I didn’t watch
@@dennisdewald6729 oh, ok. Yeah I should have known that. Silly me, sorry for the assumption.
