    When computers are working good, and you have plenty of recording room on the HD, life is bliss. Any problems break the momentum and ur creative energy can be stressed.

    The other option is a 2 input interface and picking up an old analogue mixer if you're skint. You won't get individual tracks in the DAW, but you can do a lot with a half decent old tech 16 channel mixer.

    Personally I love mixing in headphones. You can hear finer details and you aren't at the mercy of your room. Plus, you can mix in the middle of the night without disturbing anyone. Open-backed headphones are the way to go if you want to use them for mixing. I have studio monitors, but I mostly use them to check to see if my headphone mix is translating.

    RAID stands for Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks. There are different arrangements of data on RAIDs depending upon the setup.

    Cubase / Nuendo !! Best Audi engine for heating exactly what you hear when recording - see Donald Fagan and his engineer in SOS detailed article - on a budget - Reaper !! Reaper... did I mention Reaper... just add all the freeware VSTi and FX you need and make write / record that epic

    Thanks for video! And what if you are just listening to music (and not recording it)?

    • @ADAMAudioBerlin
      @ADAMAudioBerlin  4 роки тому +1

      Hi! Great question... for the most part, a lot of these things will be used in that scenario as well. Instead of an interface, you can use a DAC or a receiver, you will still need a computer, speakers and a treated room if you are doing critical listening. Other than that, everything else you can take off! Hope this helps!

  • @bigbluespike5645
    @bigbluespike5645 4 роки тому +3

    You need: -a computer
    -an audio interface
    -a mic
    - 7x Adam audio a8x (for 7.1 surround sound for sure)
    -some instruments I guess🤔 (so u can make music)
    And that's it!

    @27:50 using a regular hard drive not an SSD is fine. They are cheaper. Using an SSD has faster read and write speeds much faster than regular hard drives. The difference between SSD and Hard Disk Drive is Price and performance. SSD is more expensive but faster and uses less power. Regular Hard drive cheaper (more gigabytes per dollar) than SSD. The big difference between SSD and HDD is when they crash. More likely will be able to recover your data from crash HDD than an SSD drive. AND the data on SSD will eventually dissappear over the years. It takes a long time but scientifically speaking this kind of file corruption is possible. So SSD is not for long time storage. HDD will last as long as the disks spin and can be easily restored unless you physically destroyed the drive like fire or dropped from a window...etc.. I like SSD for performance but I know they need to be backed up on a regular basis even more than HDD.. I have HDD that have lasted over 20 years. I can connect them and still see the data from the early 90s. Not going to happen with SSD I wouldnt depend on it.

      I would want to have my active project on solid state storage. Especially if I am working with many high bitrate audio tracks. But there is no reason not to keep the finished projects and masters on hard drives.

    Def not hackintosh. There is a huge question as to why go mac at all. For affordable computer power a pc build is far more economical

    if you don't have to stay in apple build a pc the fastest CPU you can get for making music is only available for pc since apple stop working with intel and it the i7 10700k and i9 10900k even after intel drops there be 11th gen line up 10th gen will still be the fastest thank me later for this it if you build a pc for music
