    The narcissist that I know was never traumatized as a child, she was just very spoiled as a child and had wonderful, generous parents. They gave her everything she wanted and treated them very disrespectfully back. She takes narcissistic rages and is still very demanding, greedy and selfish as a senior citizen.

    • @PaigeSquared

      The incident usually happens before the consciousness is developed and recall memory begins, most don't remember. The trauma can also be a little t trauma; and is completely based on the infant's perception, which is already limited. It isn't always about what happened, sometimes the wound is more about what didn't happen for the person; emotional neglect is pervasive. When we grow up in a toxic system, it can be very difficult to pick up on certain behaviors that are red flags for dysfunction.
      Perhaps the person that came to your mind had an excess of material goods, but that was the only way her parents knew how to love (likely one of her parents). There might have been no physical positive touch nor comfort, no emotional safety, maybe being angry or sad wasn't allowed, or the kid's emotional needs were totally ignored. Look in the family for alcoholism or addiction in other forms, the system that produces narcs is the same or similar to the alcoholic family system.
      I noticed that the majority of older generations' parents had very brutal policies regarding raising children. Ignoring a child all day and letting them scream in a crib until they gave up home was quite normal. Showing affection to a baby was considered spoiling. Many older folks believe they had normal upbringings, but when you dig in, were quite obviously traumatic.
      I noticed that many of the narcs I personally encountered had a vet as a grandparent or great grandparent, and the vet had illustrated PTSD symptoms after they came back home. It's my personal theory that the world wars created a lot of dysfunction in American families; trauma that was left unaddressed and passed down via emotional unavailability. It is sad.

      Rebecca has had 24/7 access to a stranger's life for years to promote herself and doesn't even acknowledge the boundaries set repeatedly by that stranger. She wouldn't have ever been able to prey on strangers, violate them, exploit, target, defame, and enslave strangers for years if she did like any normal person would do and "ignore them." She doesn't ignore, but she has lied about strangers for years to benefit herself, and she only says "ignore them" because she doesn't want to acknowledge her actions. She doesn't want her audience to question her either. So she can sit up here and lie about people she doesn't know for years, but when her actions are addressed, she says "ignore them." It's another way to silence the people she abuses, and then she continues.

But I spent Christmas crying bc she couldn't even pick up phone to call her mother. She intentionally 'forgot ' my Christmas present when she saw my son over holidays. She intentionally posted on social media that she traveled hrs to see her father (my ex husband) & step mother then hrs in another direction to see friends for Christmas. But ive seen her once in 4 yrs! She just keeps doing things to slap me in the face. Yes, my 5 yo grandson acts more mature than my daughter. Ty Rebecca.

    • @patricehoward9831
      @patricehoward9831 Рік тому

      Just because frauds say things like this doesn't make it reality though. There are many frauds, including Rebecca, who say "narcissists act like toddlers, like 2 year olds," but they leave out information on how they have preyed on strangers, violated strangers, exploited, targeted, abused, defamed, and enslaved strangers for years and have 24/7 access to that stranger's life. They go out of their ways to abuse for years calling the people they abuse narcissists, when it's a lie. When their abuse is addressed, they say things like "narcissists play the victim," and then they continue abuse. If you get angry about their incessant abuse, they say things like "narcissists act like 2 year olds, like toddlers, and throw tantrums because they don't get what they want," when people are asking for basic boundaries. It's a gaslighting tactic, and they are lying. They just blame others anyway they can and omit their actions. They have benefited from these lies for years.

    • @jeanettecook1088
      @jeanettecook1088 Рік тому +1

      @@patricehoward9831 They were referring to the basic emotional maturity level of a narcissist, which is different than their capacity to abuse. You're right, they do continue to abuse, and their emotional maturity level can still be very small. It's a factor in understanding the disorder, and I don't think any of these presenters intend it as an excuse for abusive behavior.

    I just read a scientific article about the connection between lack of sense of smell/have damaged olfactory systems and the arrested development of the limbic system. I was researching this wondering if it contributed to the personality and behavior of a narcissist I know. Now it’s sounding like there are either multiple causes for his toddler-like brain, or the original childhood damage done was bad enough to completely destroy his sense of smell. His sense of smell is completely nonexistent. I feel like, chances are, there are multiple causes for his limbic problems. This creates a very scary environment for anyone around him. Everything surrounding him appears as collateral damage. He used to tell me many times in the past, during the idealization and love-bombing phase, that he was “rotting from the inside out.” Strange how he was honest during that time. Everything got flipped around. My anxiety has peaked to a level it’s never been close to, and I am preparing to finally rid myself of this rotten empty energy that is this individual.

    • @jeanettecook1088
      @jeanettecook1088 Рік тому +2

      Be careful trying to find out the why. I know it's natural to wonder, but the truth is that narcissists are the same, and will be the same, whether you're there or not. The only things that will happen when you leave and go no contact, are that in a very short time, the narc will get a new source of supply, and you get your life back.

    • @thrutherhythm44
      @thrutherhythm44 Рік тому +1

      @@jeanettecook1088 At this point, I’m nearly praying he already *has* a new supply. I’m afraid of him, and any distractions from tormenting me are welcomed. I feel for whoever that new person is, and sometimes I find myself hoping they are like him and can show him what it’s like. This is an internal thought. Most times, though, and the energy I project outward, is compassion. I try to be a good person and draw from my loving heart. I’d rather give this energy to ones who truly love me back, though.

    Rebecca's still the Best.
    how she teaches is equal to
    what she teacher as far as
    importance . She miraculously breaks it down
    using a foundation base so
    she allows you to build off
    it so it's much easier to
    remember for dealing with
    life down here. So her incredible teachings and
    sharing sort of becomes
    you and you just.know it.
    But yes sometimes we must
    go to know. But sharing in
    word picture sometimes
    is how she takes us along
    making her teaching style
    most special because she's
    with us teaching.I think she
    actually cares. just sayin

Then he laughs and runs off. /They get a kick out of annoying you, they'll keep poking at you, doing passive aggressive tactics, they'll intensify the annoyance when you ignore their desperate need for you to react or show frustration, and the moment you react then they become quiet. I go through this with stalking neighbors plenty of them get together and use noise harassment that shows I'm being illegally watched and is intended for mere harassment. It's like they want you to care so bad about them and why they're harassing you and keep your attention fix on them just to drain your energy. And when you show you don't care, they get upset and will do things repeatedly to make you care, then you show a hint of care then that's their chance to act like they don't care.
