    I just found 4 Flints in my utensil drawer! They belonged to my husband’s deceased mother who would have been 100 were she still alive. I'll never walk past the utensils in a thrift store again!

    My favorite kitchen utensil brand is Androck.
    I have collected the vintage Bakelite handled (dubbed "bullet" handle--I think they look less like a bullet and more like an okra pod--but "okra handled" sounds kind of silly!) stainless steel pieces primarily in the cherry red, green, and butterscotch colors.
    I started collecting them in about 1998 and I think I now have almost every design permutation they made! (Example: they made 3 or 4 different sizes and styles of flippers/spatulas, and each one has a specialized use based on its particular shape and size.)
    I use many of my assorted pieces every day, and I totally love them!

      I also collected Bakelite handled flatware, which I love!
      I think I noticed that one of your thumbnails showed you displaying numerous colors of gorgeous Bakelite handles... we're they from flatware? Knives, forks, spoons, etc.?
      Do you have a video featuring Bakelite handled flatware?

      i think it's the video after this one that talks value of vintage utensils. I do have a bin of bakelite handled flatware that i've picked up along the way...always meant to make mismatched place settings....

    Thank you! I like buying old utensils at garage sales, since they are well crafted. I did not know they had this much value. How do you ship utensils and knives?

    • @pishposhreselling
      @pishposhreselling  Рік тому +1

      They are better quality for sure. Many times we end up making or using a box if a bubble mailer seems like it won’t cut it. I know my husband sometimes uses a stay flat mailer (or even slides 2 together) on certain kinds.

    I love utensils and I glance at them, buy a couple for myself. I did buy a bag of 41 knives, the bulk of them were steak knives. We were desperate for steak knives in this house, so I was really excited. I sorted through them and one is a cheese knife that goes for a few bucks and it was made in France, and another one of the knives is a clam shucking knife. I had no idea. The whole bag cost about two dollars. I do think there are some CUTCO in there, too, but I grabbed two sets of steak knives for us to use, and I am listing the two knives that I mentioned for about 15 bucks each. I cannot begin to tell you what I probably passed up or still have in bags. This was very informative. I only wish I had all the stuff I used to have before I moved and downsized. That’s all right because I’ve got a good excuse now to go thrifting!

    Question: do you wash utensils, flatware, dishes before listing and shipping? If so, hand or dishwasher? Thank you. Blessings over you your family and businesses.

    • @pishposhreselling
      @pishposhreselling  Рік тому +2

      Honestly, a lot depends on how they look. I figure buyers will wash after the shipping process anyway. But a lot of donated flatware does need cleaning. So I usually hand wash to double check. I also may give it a quick wipe with windex if there are water spots, etc..
