A few words from germany here that might correct or add a few said words from this video:
Sonax Ultimate Cut 6+/3 is internally called "cutmax 2.0" at Sonax and is the successor and/or substitute for even faster cut or larger areas or coarser sandingmarks after painting. Its can remove grit 800 sanding marks while the cutmax could only do grit 1000.
The Cutmax has 6/4 rating and produces more finish gloss.
The Cutmax was never officially released to be used with a D/A but rather for a rotary polisher only.
The new Ultimate Cut on the other hand is recommend to use with both D/A or Rotary polisher.
I would love to see a test on your channel with the Ultimate Cut and your typical sanding marks of different grits, setup.

In my experience ( 3D 500 is my go to product ) Sonax ultimate cut is
Slightly more aggressive than 500 and producing better cut, if I needed.
As for the numbers 6+, Sonax Ultimate Cut is actually cut 7 but Sonax didn’t wanna
Messed up with the rest of the line of the their products where the 6 is the their highest number.
And that’s why they put plus after 6, so it will match with the rest of the products.

Did a full custom paint job on my car and had some issues citting out some of the 1000grit sand scratches that The following grits didnt get all the way out. Ultimate cut got them out with a m15pro DA and foam cutting pad. It is truly impressive how aggressive it is. Had to polish out buffer trails aftrr buffing anyways! Amazing review as always! Ordered Ayicon to top my paint off based on your review of it!

Thank you for a yet another excellent video!!! I was actually wondering what the differences were. Imho there are no better detailing videos than Apex detail.
Worked well for me on heavy water spotted paint. Used a Meguiers microfiber pad. Followed by Perfect finish with orange pad. Used a Makita forced rotation polisher.
Glad there's something to contend with ACA 500. I find the ACA 500 greasy and cumbersome to work with. I've never been let down by a Sonax compound.
I find the aroma of ACA500 difficult to endure. I do like it's performance though.
Grab you a lake country cutting pad,hell, that's what the JUNKMAN 2000 would grab and get that thing so shiny you'd have to wear sunglasses to look at it!!!!!

For me I it is a lot easier to get hold of Sonax products than 3D. But I am not sure I will need something this aagressive. Nice vid!

I’ve been using cut max and 3d for about a year, regular cut max normally finished better and was slightly less aggressive that 3D. Certainly don’t have the volume you do , but I think I might add this as well to tool chest of solutions . Thanks again

Can please make a video about foam and pads you use. I know you really like the Buff N shine 50/50 Uro-fiber but would like som more video on pads.

Tomas Aro he has plenty of videos with many foam pads, lake country, Buff and shine, medium cut, polish, light polish, lighter polish, jewel finish polish and more.
Love the channel Brian. Been using this for past few weeks with rotary and buff n shine new grey wool blend pad and love the combo. Finish up with 3d one and looks awesome. Have you tried the grey wool blend pads?

I was using urowool pads but tried the grey wool pads and prefer them. Get a strong cut but finishes down a little better than the urowool.

Great video Brian. Always a wealth of knowledge. Is there a possibility you can do a video testing and showcasing Essence Plus on bare paint or ontop of Essence. In the interest of preserving clear, essence plus can fill in imperfections and leave great gloss.

Brian - Looking for a combo for the majority of my paint correct 1 step maybe 2 step ar you still saying 3d one and a urofiber ? If needed pull out the aca 500 with a microfiber ?
Didn't know about this one yet, it's not even in the Sonax PDF list(Professional)! Well, neither is the Profiline Final which is an all in one that includes a sealant of some kind as well.
Hope I didn't give the next video away though 😅. But good find on this new one! But isn't a wool pad with this high cut compound a bit to much for this medium to hard clear? forget this last part, spoke to soon, forgot you dont do things half :). Im also curious about the Sonax Profiline SP 06-02

Brain Absolutely u right,today I work on infinity q50s Heavy swirl on the paint and I used both product,my on only problem is 3D ACA 500 works better on lake county wool pads and sonx work better on lake county microfiber pads, then finished with 3D one and I got Greer result, I can used ACA 500 on microfiber pads ?? I have DA polisher

What machine from Harbor freight would you recommend to buff For cutting compound and polish for polishing compound ? Is there one machine that does both

HI BRIAN I WAS GOING TO USE SONAX ULTIMATE COMPOUND WITH A RUPES YELLOW PAD COULD I USE IGL 4 GRAPHENE FOR A JEWELER WITH A RUPES WHITE PAD AND THEN PUT ON ETHOS CERAMIC COATING WILL THEY PLAY WELL TOGETHER ALWAYS ENJOY YOUR VIDEOS

I have sonax cutmax and the 04 06 polish. Most aggressive pad in my arsenal is the meguiars and lake country microfiber pads. I was looking for something with a little more omph, now which on do I choose? Also is there a pad I should order that's a little more aggressive than a microfiber but I dont want to get a wool.

I have to say I have a w203 that has a dark green metallic paint , name of the paint is Andraditgruen . The pervious owner ruined the paint with a very bad polish product ( unknown to me ) . Every time I wash the car it instantly gets so so dirty it’s like the paint is so exposed and got no layer nor protection , it’s like the polish applied before was null , so in a very bad condition . So now I have decided to do it on my own since I’m the city no one is good enough but all they care for is about money . Any suggestion ? What to do and not to do ? What tools I need for hand polishing ? What other products I need ? Is the products I mention good for my case ? Thanks in general !

Hi Brian, I wasn’t sure of the best way to get ahold of you. My question to you is, can you test boat marine style wax products vs car products. Boats are in the harshest of waters for long periods of time and take tremendous abuse. Sorry if I posted this in the wrong place.

Have you ever combined two different polishes/compounds? Or is it not recommended?
I'd like to also know this.. I would think it wouldn't be so good to mix any because of most compounds these days are chemical cut. If you go playing scientists probably not a great idea. But I've been wrong before lol
