Hi Phil ! Great video once again . The Sonax Cut Max and the Sonax Perfect finish gave me fantastic results on a older car a 1998 Black Lexus GS 400 . I used the Lake Country C C S Yellow pad's only with a Rotary polisher , for both the Cut Max and Perfect finish changing out several pad's in the process . I wanted to save as much clear coat as possible on a car 25 yrs. old . Then finished off with the Turtle Wax Hybrid Ceramic coating spray . Now 4 months later still looks great after several wash's . Thank you

Thanks Phil. Used Meguirs 210 and lake country black pad with da for one step in the spring. Didn’t remove all light swirl marks. I bought orange pads to use this fall. Can’t decide if I should switch to perfect finish
The 210 and black pad is too gentle. If you step it up to an orange or it will get better cut. Or step it up to m110 and the orange. It should still finish out really nice!
I have both (Sonax products) as well including the same microfiber pads but I live in Texas (south East) near the water and about a month ago in my garage, I did CutMax, 3DOne, and Griots FCC to see which would be the easiest to work with (on Ford F-150) and get good results. Out of those 3 the CutMax was the most difficult to wipe off and would streak although it just would take a little longer to get those out. The 3DOne & GriotsFCC wiped off like a dream. I did 2 step even though I didn’t really have to with 3DOne and Uro-Fiber pad. I used MF pad with CutMax and GriotsFCC. Overall all 3 were excellent but I’d say CutMax was the less user friendly for me of the 3 although it wasn’t difficult per se. It just needed some extra elbow grease with some CarPro Eraser. I agree on the priming...it’s really not needed even though I do it sometimes as I’m not thinking but most of the time with MF pads, I don’t prime and you should never prime a foam pad (absolute waste of time for sure with foam IMO).

Should I use koch chemie H9 & micro cut as a combo or I should still stick to Sonax Cut max & perfect finish as a Beginner? Thanks for the help
Hi thanks. It takes some experience to know just how far to go when polishing over body lines and edges. As a beginning I would just go up to the body lines until you gain more experience and feel comfortable with the polisher. If you already have the Sonax products just stick with those. They work great 👍🏼😎
👍🏼👍🏼 Thanks for sharing. Very quick nice results. Did you test other pads before choosing this combo, or based on the paint hardness you knew this combo would work?
Hi. I used perfect finish today and even though it was very good I was getting a lot of dust coming from it. Is this normal, or am I doing something wrong? Today was my first time machine polishing. Also do you not have to use a panel wipe after polishing with these products? Thanks.
@@MirandaDetailing It was about 60 degrees and cloudy. I used 4 pea sized dots to prime the pad then 3 same sized dots afterwards. I was using brand new pads I got with the polisher I just bought. I'm guessing they aren't expensive ones but the were soft and thick. Any ideas?
Mmm interesting. I have had some polishes dust on me that people claim don’t dust. Sometimes it’s just weird variables that can’t be controlled. You could also try misting water on the pad, very little mist. It helps keep the polish from drying out. But sometimes dusting just happened. Also blowing the pads out after each section helps.
@@MirandaDetailing Thanks. I have bought some more expensive pads to try them out. And I will try misting the pad if it continues. Thanks again. Much love from Scotland
Yes I know....I watched and read all about it, still I don’t find it makes a difference at all. Plus I have spent time with Detailers who also don’t find it necessary. The results are the same when I have tried it both ways. I find it wastes product also. But again that’s my way, people can do whatever they want accords to their own way. 😎👍🏼
It was protocol for a specific type of process, compound, and pad. I believe it was from Kevin Brown's participation in the development of the Meguiar's DA Microfiber Correction System. He also popularized it through his personal process with M105 on foam, and later (after the system was formally introduced) microfiber pads. Some of the newer lubrication systems don't require pad priming as they are more fluid, and carry the abrasives around better. Priming can lead to oversaturation, excessive dusting, excessive heat, difficult wipe off, etc. Even Meguiar's is getting away from priming with their newest compound M110.
Yes. That’s correct. Plus I believe some people have certain techniques and tricks that work for them, but not for everyone. I’ve learned a lot from Kevin Brown and Larry from AMMO. But then I tweak what I learn to fit my needs and style. 😎👍🏼

@@garcia5986 Interesting, I dont really have that much of a problem with dusting, Some compounds will, but I just mist either a little water, or a polishing pad conditioner to help with that.

Best practice is to prime your pad whatever you use. Pads never prime themselves well that’s why we need to prime them. Cut max was my favorite but not anymore. By priming your pad you get the maximum performance of your pads.
Nah. Used to do that but found it made no difference at all. Waste of time and product for me. If others like to do that, and think they see a difference is fine, but in the real world I have not seen any benefits.

Yes. We only use DA polishers.
Can i do it with the hand???
Yeah you can. But it’s not as effective as using a polisher.
@@MirandaDetailing my friend what i have to use to do it with the hand? This sonax and what else to rub the cream? Can you be more specific?
Well it best explained by this video
ua-cam.com/video/cr-hx5pGFUM/v-deo.html
@@MirandaDetailing if you khow, whats the difference between the polishes with silicone and the others without silicone??
The polishes with silicone tend to fill more then actually remove the swirls.
You should try %75 cutmax and %25 HD speed. With a medium cut MF oberk pad. You will be surprised and amazed.
Cool! I love combining products like that! That sounds like it would be awesome.
Pair both of those products half and half on a foam pad and you’ll have a nice 1 step with a great finish.
👍🏼👍🏼 Thanks for sharing. Very quick nice results. Did you test other pads before choosing this combo, or based on the paint hardness you knew this combo would work?
I started with d300 and microfiber disc and then switched to this and it worked just as well.
Hi. I used perfect finish today and even though it was very good I was getting a lot of dust coming from it. Is this normal, or am I doing something wrong? Today was my first time machine polishing. Also do you not have to use a panel wipe after polishing with these products? Thanks.
Hi. Was it hot or humid out? How much product did you use? It also depends on your pads. Are they new pads or used and cleaned?
You’re welcome sir!
How's the dust level Phil?
It dusts a tiny bit I control that with a little mist of water on the pad sometimes.
Is this the ex 4/6 perfect finish ? If so how’s it compared to the og stuff? I’m needing to replenish but all I see is the ex 4/6
Hi. Yes its the 4/6 Perfect Finish, not sure about the OG stuff you're talking about. But this stuff is awesome!
the purpose of priming the pad is to have peak performance from the very begining of the compounding process
How many MF pads did you use on this car??
About 8 or so.
We love them in europe...and a lot cheaper than USA
And if you want close performance of PF but to save some money try sonax ex 04-06.
marios kosmidhs so are you saying there are two versions of the Perfect Finish?
Indeed. We use Sonax in Europe since many years. The PF is the perfect allrounder.
A Belgian.
@@tundrawhisperer4821 supposed that ex 04-06 is designed for DA, such as ex 05-05 witch is da version of cut&finish.
Ex 04-06 is very close to performance of PF ...not...equal ....but cheaper. Maybe i can help someone with his info
marios kosmidhs well…doesn’t realize that! I want the good stuff. The Perfect Finish in the original formula then. I’ll need to seek this out. Thx
Thank you for introducing a good product. But the worker's skills seem more important.LOL
Very true! I can do full paint corrections with meg's D300 and M210 and it will come out the same. But trying other products to see how they preform is enjoyable also.
Miranda Detailing
Do you foam or MF when using 300?
It depends on the paint. Usually for paint corrections I use the MF cutting discs. But sometimes the orange foam cuts really well also.
@@MirandaDetailing the problem is the fkg ''dust'' sonax dont have dust
@@garcia5986 Interesting, I dont really have that much of a problem with dusting, Some compounds will, but I just mist either a little water, or a polishing pad conditioner to help with that.
Try perfect finish with rupes yellow pad Iv used Koch chemie f6.01 found its better then pf the Koch will remove p2000 with rupes yellow pad it claims to remove p2500 it will remove p2000 I tested it another guy on yt did the test as well
Cool. I don’t have any Koch Chemie products yet but I’ve heard they are great.
Miranda Detailing they are Iv got h9 f6 and m3 in 1l and 250ml only used h9 And f6 h9 is heavy cut can remove p1200 use it with flex purple pad it leaves a very high gloss like a one step
Nice!!
How is the wipe off of the Koch polishes?

Best practice is to prime your pad whatever you use. Pads never prime themselves well that’s why we need to prime them. Cut max was my favorite but not anymore. By priming your pad you get the maximum performance of your pads.
Nah. Used to do that but found it made no difference at all. Waste of time and product for me. If others like to do that, and think they see a difference is fine, but in the real world I have not seen any benefits.
