  • Today, We put Sonax Ultimate Cut through the Apex Detail Review Process!!Sonax Ultimate Cut is designed to achieve the highest cutting and polishing results without severly damaging the clear coat. Sanded areas up to P1000 can quickly and safely be removed with excellent gloss effect. Sonax Ulitimate Cut is water-based which offers a long working window and will not dry out like other compounds. It is also dust-free for easy clean up after use. Simply wipe off the polished area. Solvent-free and silicone-free makes it safe for use in body shops and collision centers. Recommended use with: Sonax Microfiber Cloths, Hybrid Wool Pad or Red Cutting Pad.
    Sonax Ultimate Cut......www.amazon.com...
    PROFESSIONAL CUTTING COMPOUND - Sonax Ultimate Cut removes marks of P1000 grit or finer, including paint defects, scratches, dust inclusions, and severely scratched or oxidized paint work without damaging the clear coat
    MEDIUM GLOSS FINISH - Polishing formula leaves a medium gloss OEM paint finish with minimal hologram paint surface
    SILICONE AND DUST FREE - Water based formula will not dry out like other compounds, contains no solvents, silicones or petroleum and creates no dust during the compounding process so polishing pads stay cleaner longer
    VERSATILE - One of the most flexible compound / polishes available in the market that works beautifully on all clear coats and paint finishes
    SAVES TIME - The single step process makes paint corrections far less labor intensive and time consuming than traditional claying and compounding - recommend applying with a rotary polisher

    Beautiful Job on the car!! I have a Dewalt 849X that had around an hour use on it. I was going to sell it because I was afraid to use it. The first and only time I used it, the buffer did a really nice job on the older car that I had but I was still afraid to use it on my newer car or any jobs for customers. After watching your video on the Mini Cooper where you used the rotary, I decided to give the buffer another try on an old van that a neighbor has that's going to the junk yard. I was amazed at how easily it took care of scratches on the panel. Way faster than my DA polisher. I ordered some more pads for the Dewalt that same night so I can experiment some more. Thanks to you, I'm going to keep the Dewalt and am glad that I didn't sell it. Thanks for this awesome video!

That's what my parents did for me and my brothers and that's what I do with my 4 sons (24, 22, 17 and 9). Mr. Brian remember someone had a book for good parenting but someone wanted to kid with us and hid it, that's what I tell my sons😉. Keith Olsen Absolutely agree. I owned a ‘65 in 1970. I had a head on accident one night when a guy swung out too far from a cross street and nailed my left front. While the cops, ambulances and fire trucks were there I was telling myself “I can fix this”, and was already making plans to do that. All of a sudden we heard a car coming from a half mile away and he was banging through those gears. We all realized at once that he was not going to stop and we all ran in different directions. His El Camino slammed the rear of my fastback at probably 70 or 80 mph (speed limit 35). He was too drunk to notice all of the flashing lights and my car was now about 8 feet long from bumper to bumper. 😢

      @@rumrunner1756 oh man, talk about getting kicked while you're down.. did he even have insurance? They usually never do..
      My dad, (born in '59) has told me about some of the cars he would see around his little town all the time in that era that were just looked at as inexpensive average used cars.. Boss Mustangs, even a couple Shelbys and Superbirds, SS Camaros, Yenkos, etc., etc.. Countless badass six figure cars today that even high school kids had and drove into the ground, totaled, etc.. Pretty wild. I think it was around '73 he said that the horsepower started plummeting?

    • @rumrunner1756
      @rumrunner1756 4 роки тому

      Keith Olsen I am even older than your dad (1952), but he is pretty much correct. These cars were not hard to come by and were cheap. I paid $500 for my 5 year old ‘65 fastback. Next car was a ‘63 1/2 Galaxie XL 390 4 speed for $650, bought with insurance money from my fastback. The first guy’s insurance paid me because he totaled it first (per accident report, not my opinion). I never had to deal with El Camino guy’s insurance. Gas shortage, insurance costs and government mandated safety requirements pretty much killed the hp game by ‘73.

I assume the Shop Foreman was having some kibble and doing paper work. I always like when you explain the differences and similarities to other products. Will you be giving the 3D finishing polishes a look 520 ACA and 502 AAT, as they compare to Sonax Perfect Finish. Just going through some older videos I missed. Has anyone seen the Cutmax 6/4? I did a quick Google search to grab a bottle of the standard Cutmax which is 6/3, and on Amazon, there is a Cutmax 6/4. What the heck is that? It's not even on Sonax's website. Anybody seen that? Did they change the formulation or add a product without telling anyone? No but seriously, what in the world is Cutmax 6/4?

    • @bigdfig6083
      @bigdfig6083 3 роки тому

      6/4 refers to the rating on their own scale of 0 to 6:least to most. First number is aggressiveness of cut, so a 6 would be the maximum cut ergo "cut max." Second number is for finish/polish and the cutmax rates a four which is a decent finish. Frankly, it's marketing, but does lessen the confusion for some.
      I've used cutmax with wool, hybrid wool and foam pads. For more correction I like the cutmax on an LC purple foamed wool pad and for a better finish I'll use a LC ccs orange pad. Followed up with a LC ccs white pad and perfect finish for added clarity and gloss.

    How many hours would a job like this take? In this case, your son was following you with the polishing right after you, so it made it faster. So how many hours in that case?
