- We went visiting Hammond Organ player and collector Roberto Nazzari a couple of days ago and while I was trying out one of his splendid RT-3s he asked me to play Pilgrim's Progress. Happy to oblige!
Pilgrim’s Progress is of course the last masterpiece Matthew Fisher recorded for Procol Harum in the 60s on the album “A Salty Dog”, a delicate and nostalgic song that always manages to evoke deep emotions.
Such a beautiful chord progression
very nice Jack. One of my favorite most beautiful Procol Pieces. Nicely played.
Thanks 😀
Jack y Matthew un solo corazon!!
Lovely Jack......thanks.
RIP Gary
Good job Jack....very inspirational. Thanks!
still makes me cry
I sat me down to write a simple story
Which maybe in the end became a song
In trying to find the words which might begin it
I found these were the thoughts I brought along
At first I took my weight to be an anchor
And gathered up my fears to guide me round
But then I clearly saw my own delusion
And found my struggles further bogged me down
In starting out I thought to go exploring
And set my foot upon the nearest road
In vain I looked to find the promised turning
But only saw how far I was from home
In searching I forsook the paths of learning
And sought instead to find some pirate's gold
In fighting I did hurt those dearest to me
And still no hidden truths could I unfold
I sat me down to write a simple story
Which maybe in the end became a song
The words have all been writ by one before me
We're taking turns in trying to pass them on
Oh, we're taking turns in trying to pass them on
One of my favorite songs of all time!!

Absolutely wonderful… A great piece piece of music by one of my all-time favorite bands, Procol Harum… Great job!
Glad you liked it, thanks...It was literally a one-off of a song I’ve never performed, all considered I’m satisfied on how it turned out.
a big fave song

I Love this song! Wonderfull J.S. Bach inspiration! Great Procol harum!!!

Awesome, thanks for sharing!
Thank you
Very nicely done Jack, a tad quick on the "bridge" just before the solo itself (G-C-B-G-C-B), but you nailed the rest of it, and the tone is gorgeous!
Thanks

Nice, Jack, one of my abs PH-favorits, so "simple", still so "Bach"; the lyrics .. so "innocent and tender". You could still improve a bit on the syncopation, though :) all the best! :)
Beautiful!
Awesome job!
Absolutely brillant..!
Thanks
Grandissimo Jack! Vederti suonare è ipnotico! Complimenti, gran pezzo e grande esecuzione!

Don't let the wife disturb you - you loose the concentration ... Thanks!
That's unnecessarily to say. She was fine. PERIOD.
😍🥰😘❤️
absolutely beautiful!
I was waiting for the percussive part you we’re about to go into?
Did you record that too?
Btw Great job, beautiful performance of a beautiful chord progression and Vocals melody. Even the lyrics are exactly perfect for this song. Like a Beatles song, nobody can improve on this song, it’s perfect as it is! You did it justice buddy.
Thanks. I play that part from time to time, but it wasn’t recorded on that day.
