For sedans, the cost ranges from $8000 to $13000, for SUVs it ranges from $9000 to $15000, and for pickup trucks it ranges from $10000 to $17000.

It was not a collapse of the Chinese economy, but a normal way of the market correcting prices in China. Similar things happen in other countries. In the end, after prices are corrected to a reasonable price according to the market mechanism, the market will eventually return to normal.
Why? Because that's how the market works. Why? Because Chinese citizens and citizens of any country, in the end, will still spend (consume), and that consumption anywhere in the world represents about 50% of GDP.

Economic growth is related to population growth, China is facing birthrate collapse and so is the United States, the birthrates have fallen below 2.1 replacement rate, which in turn affects the economy. Old people tend to spend more money on health care as opposed to cars. As there won't be as many babies/young people (workers) to replace the aging outgoing population, there won't be as much demand for a large bulk amount of consumer goods such as cars, it'll just end up being a waste of resources as they won't sell. India has replaced China in having the largest population, but India faces birthrate collapse as well. It's a global happening. We're still using an outdated economic system that is based on population growth, so eventually, all economies will collapse unless this is changed.

@@sdrc92126 last I looked, it was at 1.6, if you've studied past trends of population collapse, when a society/country falls below 2.1, it is highly unlikely to reverse, thus population collapse. All countries are on a downward curve regarding birthrates, not all countries are in the population collapse zone just yet, but that's just a matter of time because of the downward birthrate curves. Nigeria has the highest birthrates at 5.6, but the survival rate of the children is rather low, say a Nigerian female gives birth to 5 children, 2 of the 5 won't live past puberty, if they even make it that far. That keeps them out of birthrate/population collapse for now, but for how long?

China has a manufacturing-based export economy for so long they don't know how to do anything else. The world started buying products made in other places so China's economy is shrinking. Ask any business/economic analyst who watches China and they'll tell you it might be growing at 1%, but most will tell you its less than 0% (its shrinking).

The bank collapse was a small bank with no national branch network and it was absorbed by another bank, most of its problems were commercial loans that went bad. Not a big problem at this point unless a lot of banks start going out of business. BTW: How's that Evergrande bankruptcy going in China? And what about Country Garden, too? Their real estate bubble is deflating but it’s offset by their industrial growth, that’s why they’re still growing in spite of all that.
