Normal cars have brakes, the Ford Mach-E has breaks

I have a 2006 silver auto, and a 2002, S 10, that still runs, I will run them for ever.
I worked for a large window manufacturing company in the midwest. The executive department told department heads that they had to lay off a certain number of people by seniority. In the past it was always to lay off people by seniority throughout the whole plant and people would be farmed in to fill in those spots which was easier because people with the lower seniority didn't have the experience. But the way they did it was a huge disruption to the overall plant. It took 2 to 3 years of permanent overtime to build up enough experience to go back to regular production. The layoff what's up to 1800 employees many men who had years of experience and had to cash in any benefits and if they wanted to work their had to start over at minimum pay. Needless to say they could not find anyone that was willing to work there except immigrants from the cities Manny who did not understand our culture and our language. That was the result of Obama giving the company a certain amount of money for hiring immigrants. I was one of the many older employees that had to train them and found that many of them we're very good employees but a significant number of them didn't understand the concept of being to work on time and getting back to work after breaks. Another thing that I feel impacted the production was that many of them were Muslims and decided that they must take time to pray which would shut down the lines for a short period of time. Personally it didn't bother me but I did talk to one of them and asked him why he did not pray and he said he chose to do it after work. So it sounds to me like a personal decision which I feel many of them took advantage of the company. Although I did not let it bother me because I knew I would soon be retiring there were many many older employees who were both white and Hispanic that were not happy. This was a company that became disconnected from its employees. Excuse the spelling and punctuation. It is Google voice typing because I cannot type with my arthritis.

I see people getting rid of battery mowers after they find out they don’t perform like their gas counterparts. Additionally they can’t see paying for a new battery only a few years later. Battery costs 2/3 or more of original cost of the mower. Same thing applies to cars.
I found just the opposite. Used to use all Stihl and Echo gas engine products and switched to Milwaukee Fuel M18 electric. Wow, what a difference! The electrics have far more torque, spin up immediately, are quiet, don’t need to idle, and there is zero issues with gas plugging the lines and carbs, hard starts, no idle, etc. I won’t go back to gas.

There are people who can use them for various reasons but not everybody.
My 2006 Tacoma has now 213,000 miles on the odometer and runs great. It has a 2.7 L 4 cylinder engine and a 5 speed manual transmission. No complex electronics and software. EV's have indeed simple motors and transmissions that don't need much maintenance by themselves, but the heat management system that integrates the motor, the battery thermal conditioning system and the air conditioning is extremely complex, and is driven by very intricate ele tonics and software.

I once found out my catalytic converter was clog up on my 1982 VW Vanagon. I did not have money for a new one and obviously the junk yard would not sell me a use one. Upon removing the converter, I discovered that with a wood chisel I could reach in and shave off enough of the clogged converter to make it “like new” as far as air flow goes. The catalytic convertor was the honeycomb ceramic type. It took a while, but I got the majority of the front face of the converter cleaned off (about a half inch or so). It ran just fine after that, but it was still a gutless wonder with that air cooled boxer engine.

Tesla's total revenue last year was over $96 billion dollars. I think we're past "start up" stage.

If you need a car to take on vacation, rent one. I know people who don't even own a car and get along fine.
EV should just be niche market currently, review and update after several years. No reason to rush.
Without the fear mongering about Nuclear Power, we could have by now synthetic fuels already available, and send BEVs back to obsolescence as a century ago.
This doesn´t make any sense.
1. Using 7x the amount of electric power to produce synthetic fuel instead of charging batteries directly does not make any sense at all.
2. You can rather grow Bio-ethanol and use that instead for cheaper, especially with all the switchgras in the US.
I am sorry but yu sound like you don´t know anything about the tech, just buzzwords you have heard somewhere.
@@sierraecho884 Actually makes perfect sense. First wouldn't require to replace all cars on the road for EVs. Second, the Country adopting this strategy would need to rely on foreign countries for their fuel production. Third, it would convert the infrastructure already in place for fuel delivery. Fourth, no need for intensive mining for battery production or relying in countries such as China, controlling supply chains.
@@RogerM88 1. False assumption you don´t need to replace what´s not broken. You would need to replace broken cars either way. And this claim has nothing to do with the type of vehicle.
2. You can produce EV´s domestically (as Tesla already does) you got all resources in the US already. So this is also factually not correct.
If you feel it´s correct either way you are welcome to show me where I am wrong.
@@sierraecho884 completely false. Tesla doesn't build cars in house. They also rely on supply chains. Plenty of cars on the roads with more than two decades. Which isn't easily at reach of most BEVs due to battery degradation. Behind the rush push towards BEVs, it' the strategy to lower Oil imports. And synthetic fuels have plenty of other industry sectors to be used besides the Automotive.
@@RogerM88 I didn´t say Tesla build it that way I said you can build EV´s at home. Also everybody relies on supply chains because it makes sense that way, it´s cheaper.
What do you mean it´s not at reach due to battery degradation ? Do you mean to say an EV´s battery doesn´t work after 10 years ? Synthetic fuels have zero use becasue they are at least double in price compared to oil hence it´s not used there isn´t even an infrastructure to produce any at scale whatsoever. May I ask what you do ? Are you a technician or something ?

Making important parts like in the EV example above more durable, perhaps billet or if necessary, titanium. Yes, even a few, key incremental changes like this can make a huge difference overall.
Boeing went woke, then the airplane broke! 😮
No one should gloat about people being laid off its a tough thing to be without a job no matter who you are
😂
Until the infrastructure is built up, Hybrid is the way to go for fuel saving, less pollution and no "trip anxiety".
I worked at the Tesla gigafactory in Nevada for 9 months on both the battery production side (run by Panasonic) and the Tesla side.
Panasonic had their stuff together, but on the Tesla side it was always chaos. I knew then that if they couldn't make it work inside the factory, then it wasn't going to last long outside the factory.
I am currently looking for a used Prius or (don't feint) a Chevy Volt.
I was hauling steel for his building just 3 years ago. The one in Texas....
This is the reality in the current EV WOK World. It is sad.
The woman at Tesla was the only one with balls
An EX GM has found common sense?!?!?!?!? MachE rotor was lighted so much separation is not a surprise.
There's also the weight of the batteries that puts a lot more stress on the brakes.
The electric motor does most of the breaking, which is why EV’s brakes basically never need to get replaced
Elon has already rehired some of the supercharger team lol.
Who?
He has to, they had Super Chargers in the works.
@@icosthop9998 then why fire them all in the first place lol?
@@josueelombre931I just read it earlier today and would also like to know?
Fired them and then hired them on an hourly basis wages
BYD will buy out Tesla company.
Then surely we know their doomed.
Yes that’s true
BYD has far deeper pockets then Elon
They will takeover Tesla
Scotty, please post your smartphone photos directly in your youtube clips. They look blurry if you just hold your smartphone in front of your camera.
Don't forget the shortage of certified EV mechanics. 😂
They got rid of who didn’t need to be there bc of points and write ups and got rid of the management that let that go on someone wasn’t doing their job and he cracked down on all that.
Bro. They got rid of the people who repair super chargers. They are burning walls to keep the house warm because the furniture ran out
The cope is unreal. The company is in serious trouble. They have to get rid of Musk to save it.
@@pointmanzero this is fine 🐶🔥
Because, who needs Superchargers?😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Scotty, you are so funny.
Tesla is so easy to pick on, just because of the topic.
You crushed it. Elon has more tricks up his sleeves.
It's all about the $$$
Plus many Tesla owners have been reporting falling sick. Having constant headaches, fatigue, nausea.
I like Scotty. Sometimes you just got to laugh at his takes! Companies must remain profitable and you’ve got to be able to let people go or the business goes under. Every company in history has had to do and Scotty is cracking up over it. Scotty, you silly! 🤪
The problem
Is here in America the majority of people don't want electric vehicles but these automanufacturers can't seem to understand that
Not that ppl dont want them more like ppl Can't afford/education/dealers mark ups and any other ev but tesla its also charging
I dont want an expensive ev. Its not necessary. It cant travel. Its a local money saver. But for now. A ES( electric scooter) can be
Bought for 2k and gets 79 miles per charge. Great for local get around. Max speed is 60mph. No worries about fuel prices and dont have to stare at the wall of boredom.
It's not all the manufacturer, it's the woke gubment pushing and offering credits, subsidies and incentives. It's all taxpayers money they gamble with so politicians don't care.
@mcsike7264 No the majority of people just flat out don't want them
@@jodysmith8048 and how do you know have you talked to the millions of Americans
If it's Boeing, I ain't going. Especially to space.
Electric bike no insurance required
Just pump oil. That's why it's here.
You’re not a very perceptive mind for someone who likes the outdoors.
Ford Mach-E does not need brakes - it uses regenerative braking
Dana White fired nobody in ufc
Worked for Honda manufacturing Canada for a few years ….
what a goddamn mess it’s scary ! Least the CRV plant…
Is it though?
Be a firefighter staring at a full EV car and try to explain to people we literally can not do anything but wait till it burns out completely cause it burns so high and hot. It can literally can be put under water and still burn cause of the lithium. We have no extinguisher for it
The more intense the FUD gets, the more clear it is that Tesla is making good products.
I just paid off my 2013 Corolla S ill stick with that hell with EV
So that’s about the fifth time this month Scotty has claimed Tesla is going under. Yeah, no.
Tesla is doomed. Will never have 80 trillion like the also corrupt toyota
3 years
Tesla is going the way of the dodo in less than 10 years. No variety of cars, novelty of their cars have worn off, mass layoffs, no infrastructure to sustain them en masse etc .. RIP 🪦⚰️
@@marcelpatel9017 They may not be number one selling EV in the US in 10 years, but no, they are not going away. That was a nice try with the Dodo analogy though, good effort
@@TheBagOfHolding Three years from now when they are still in business will you come back here and admit you were wrong? I didn’t think so
I am an Electrical Engineer and I am betting on Tesla and Elon. Everybody gets to make their own decisions.
You probably went to Trump University or a very very low-level university. Elon is like a litmus test for IQ and integrity. You deny to see Elon’s scams and frauds and find face to defend him. You cannot be a top school student. 1 digit IQ probably
Just make a reliable product. My goodness. !!
I wouldn't bet on tesla until stock is under 50$ 😮
Maybe when Tesla actually makes reliable cars?
@@ryanfraley7113 Tesla’s we’re just rated as the least expensive 10 year maintenance vehicle, safest vehicle, and highest customer satisfaction. They’re plenty reliable to the people who actually buy them.
Until there is a really good infrastructure and a better battery, electric cars just aren't going to become popular.
Elon announced that next week he will start working on the assembly line himself.
For some reason they try hard to make EV's feel like appliances (microwave, fridge, etc). Who wants to pay double for that?
The stock is up
Shhhhh. Don't tell anyone.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Scott, what you think about crv honda 2010
Cut costs: Lay-off workers, move production for less expensive labor and by all means implement "VALUE ENGINEERING". You may ask, what is "Value Engineering"? A committee of likely inexperienced foreign engineers review an existing design that works and reduce the cost by a few more cents. However, they may unwittingly compromise the working design to the point that it may still function (hopefully through the warranty period) but may fail too soon. Happens all the time. Or, simply buy cheaper parts from China. Chinese specifications may be different and your quality may vary. Be careful.
They got rid of who didn’t need to be there bc of points and write ups and got rid of the management that let that go on someone wasn’t doing their job and he cracked down on all that
So he got rid of all the "bad" slaves.
It wasn’t just management. Places like service centers which are already overworked and overloaded were affected. Did Tesla not need them?
How did you know that ? I worked for tesla for 9 years and 9 months at fremont factory and I got laid off on April 28th by email. I was a repair tech for m3 and my I was one of the top technicians with most repairs per shift
@@tigergray1100I work in GA4 going in tmrw for my shift 🫡 heard the next lay off is in June it is what it is at this point , is it true they’re giving the people that got laid off a 18k?
Yeah, that’s why he is now hiring half those people back. Good lord, you are one hilariously easy mark.
Good luck getting any problems with your Tesla fixed 🤨🤨
Paradigm shift moment. Tesla’s have the lowest 10 year maintenance cost of any vehicle,, ever.
Gotta love Scotty . He’s the goat because he’s one of the only, if not the only, to take a massive dump on Elon and Tesla. I fully support it !!
That Elon is sure one silly goose! 😂
