Thanks guys. I have been painting cars for over 20 years and am pretty much burnt out, especially after seeing our local pdr tech come into our shop and make as much money in an hour as I do all day:(. Gonna work my ass off learning how to do this and see how it goes
How did it go?
Still learning from 14 years old video
this is sickly fantastic
Very Nice.
@TTBlackOPS I hear a little insecurity in your voice. Bad ass pdr techs I know (especially ones "that used" to work for Dent Wizard) are humble and don't throw titles around. As I mentioned before, experienced "real" pdr techs know it's not about the reflection, it's how well you understand it. Oh and by the way, in about another ten years maybe you can graduate to a "Jedi Dent Master" like me. :) Good luck bro and best wishes.
@denttime I have been doing auto body and paint for 14 years. what is the best way to get into this? Just sighn a contract with dent wizard , or pay out of pocket to go to school?
There is no good way to learn the trade in a classroom, online or by instruction alone. My family has been doing this work for over 35 years. One chases hail the rest of us work dealerships and customers in our respective areas. I swear to any of you guys that are trying to learn, you have to do it for a WHILE to become proficient and even after that it is a career of learning and changing techniques. If anyone promises to teach you in a month, 6 months or even a year.....it isn't going to happen. It's an awesome industry and I do NOT want to dissuade anyone from learning. I just want to tell you that you have to be truly willing to learn and have a lot of patience. Be dedicated to the craft and you can be successful.
Well, tell that to my past students like dentlion.com, alloutdent.com, danodents.com, dfwdentguys.com, dentdingking.com, thedentpatrol.com, dentaffect.com and more. Training, tools and techniques have changed. Not to mention myself as a trainer as the years gone on. It starts with the foundation. Not saying I didn't agree with you 15 years ago. But you'd be amazed how fast a tech can learn when taught right the first time.
Two of my vehicles got plastered by golf ball hail in Michigan a couple weeks ago, took it in and they called a PDR specialist, I had no idea what that was, but once I realized the procedure and what it entails I was totally amazed, watching him work was extremely interesting, that its all by hand is an art form, I bet the top dogs in this specialty make good money
The hardest part is pinpointing the dent even with a line board is very difficult with the reflective surface.
at last , some one who explains things , and it makes sense ,, a pdr guy would charge more than the car im working on is worth ,,, three hundred quid , but ill go bend some half inch steel bar , and have a play , after all , i cant do any more damage ,, thanks for the info
hi mike , i am new to pdr but been in the bodwork trade for a few years , i have purchased a bunch of tools of all diffrent types of bars ! can you tell me if the idea is too push the bars ie using leverage to get the dent out or am i to twist the bar ??? thnx
@pablo336336336 Thank you PABLO. But I enjoy being a student more than a master.
First, I apologize if I did not respond. It's been a crazy week. My wife and I have been in the hospital and still are having our third child. My time is limited at the moment but expect to catch up on my emails soon as possible. Please email me again as it's not my intention not to reply back. Thank you.
Dent Time - San Diego Dent & Bumper Repair do you guys do any trying in San Diego?
so without that board even an experienced pdr. tech would not be able to remove dents completely? thanks
God jobs.. i m pdr from Indonesia.
gracias amigo very helpfull
My dad has been doing this for a long time. And I'm finally committed to learning. Good lesson.
why do you guys complain? hes showing you stuff that you pay to learn. if you have a problem with this stuff go sign a contract with Dent Wizard
Thanks guys, good video. I've actually just purchased one so the tips have really helped :)
Just became a metal finisher for nissan in smyrna tn, i love doing this daily, the skill invovled, makes you feel proud to be able to this stuff :)
👍👍
Just became a metal finisher for nissan in smyrna tn, i love doing this daily, the skill invovled, makes you feel proud to be able to this stuff :) Although you havent seen difficult until you are trying to do this without that light, going down a converyor line and only having around 55 seconds to push the dent out, file it and the sand it ;)
cool
From what I understand in pdr, finding the tip of your tool behind the dent takes a lot of practice. Draging your tool through the lines really helps you pinpoint it. Thanks for the tip Myke and David!

I can`t believe it. Somebody doing the cars +20yr and he learn his job on uoutube.
"PDR" guy has to make as much money in an hour as you do all year..
After +20yr you should do much better than you see on video.
Very good video Toledo that what I was missing among other stuff great video bro I’m heading to my garage an practice that yeah 👌👍👌👍👌
Thanks for the tips you have provided here.
the metal thickness of my Cadillac is too strong, I have tried using all sort of tools, wont change a thing lol
Thanks Jeff.
I was wondering the same thing. You would always make one. You would just have to make sure your lines were straight as possible. If not it could throw you off. I suggest buying one.
Thanks great video, by the way what is that light called and where can I buy one
i have been interested in dent removal for years now,,,i am in the auto body refinishg.. i know all about hammering and dollying dents out but not the paintless way.. will any of my skills from doing auto body work make it easier to go in this direction of dent removal..
Can this be done on a car with dent that has a crease in it? That is also almost 3 years old?
i bought your dvd is great the best..you are a master!
when you getting a partnership??
Muchas gracias por tus concejos, a los principiantes como yo nos son muy útiles.
I wonder how they do it when the paint is matte or satin
Keep up the good work!!!
Never talks about paint stretch. all the way down to the primer. oh it's true.
3 people who dislikes have auto shops. lol
Lmao your turn the picture like you can still further past the angle haha
good job
Hey where can I get a light like Davids with the lines on it?
Where can I get the tool kits?
👍👍
how can i do that, but paint was damage too and scratch off
I've been watching a lot of your vids the last couple days, and learnedalot.Great Videos.I've been building cars and doing bodywork as a hobby for years, and now am going to try pdr to tackle all my recent hail damage.I'm sorta confused by this video though.Am I correct in that there was no dent on your first sweep after he circled it?I didn't see any deflection before he started with the tool tip. Thanks again for great tips!Congrats on your new baby! My youngest is 19,lol
Nice Job-You are Jedi Dent Master
Amazing post
About the best video I have seen on PDR, really tempted to try this, THANKS
great video! thanks man! :D
I contacted Myke he told me he would contact me when he returned home that night, despite me contacting him again he couldn't be bothered to reply...waste of time man
You the man, Myke! Does PDR work on dents that have been on panels of the car for years?
chrisrave Why wouldn't it.
I will have fun learning how to do this on my own truck here in S TN. And mo more paying $70-80 /dent. Some idiots think they can charge $200-400 for a couple of simple, shallow dents, almost more than a beginners PDR kit costs, and for that I might just put them morons out of business :D Pax Vobiscum - Sir Carl's Evil Twin..
Carl Borsing BorsingStudios_com how'd your truck turn out since then?
You won’t. Our guy goes all over town charging $150 a dent. He makes between $200k-450k a year. 😮
Yes it def will.
