At my schools end of the year dance/formal last year, I got called out in front of all of the students there(over the fucking speakers so everyone heard it) because I kissed my girlfriend. One of my favorite teachers said "I don't know what you are doing over there, but stop. It's nasty". But it was literally just a peck on the lips. But no one called out the straight people making out and twerking on each other.

How did this shit ever happen? People are scared of what they don't understand, or find it alien, and attack it. It's human instinct. It's inexcusable, and I'd like to think our society was beyond this, yes, but at the end of the day, humans are animals, and that will never go away.

this is truly truly beautiful. as a teenage lesbian in a small and hateful town, this brought me to tears. to know that people are like me and feel the same way as me, and can be HAPPY with the person they love is something I can't put a price on. Thank you for this. I needed it more than you know

(Edited: 7/18/17) so right now I'm actually crying, it's super nice to know there are people who are so accepting on the internet, but not in real life. It's a sad thing, and I've also come out to the rest of my family because I don't really care what my mom says anymore, she created me without knowing this would happen (not saying it's a bad thing) but she should just accept me I've also noticed I'm no where near being me yet. This is actually so amazing... I remember when I was 14 I got called out by several teachers and peers on our school's field day (where everyone hangs out around the school), and they told my girlfriend and I to stop holding hands, because it was gross.. meanwhile the straight kids were hugging each other and holding hands and jumping on each other's backs. Of course, being the "oh so rebellious" teenager I am, I continued to hold her hand anyway. What makes it even better is that we're still together to this day.

my school went so far as to 'verbally' tell my class that we wouldn't get our diplomas if we went with same-sex dates to promote. So over half of my Senior Classic bought couples tickets and went as same-sex couples even having our pictures taken as tradition as well as dancing. I was even there for my friend when she came out to her family that night after prom when I took her home. they were confused as we had 'dated' since sophomore year..this was back in the 90s and an area of the South that is still backwoods on the issue due to religious ignorance
i believe this past yr a high school in PA( Pennsylvania) didnt let a student attened prom because she wore tux...

This film brought me to tears. My (future) 'girlfriend' won't go out with because I think she is afraid of the hate and attention we will get, and I hate that I want to be her partner so bad but she won't accept me. She says she wants to keep it a secret, I want to yell threw the rooftops. I don't know what to do, when I bring it up she quickly changes the topic. She has never dated someone who was not a guy the school thinks I am a girl. I am not.
I was the one who made she question her sexuality. I didn't mean too I just had a crush on her and she did too. She would always ask me if I was Trans. Damn, I let her get away and It was my fault. I am going to get her back before some other boy picks her up and hurts her again. I will not let that happen and I never well.

It's a real problem... I'm gay by myself but I'm single. I had prom last year and although I had no girlfriend I was thinking about how it would have been to me when I had one. I can't get over how homophobic schools are. But I still enjoyed prom a lot :-)
