I use stainless steel. I've had it for 30 years. That's really good cookware still looks almost as good as it did when I bought it 30 years ago, I'll so use stainless steel utensils and glass containers.
I think there is a reason our ancestors all cooked with cast iron. Way better than when teflon and all the non-stick came along. You are healthier and safer to stick with cast iron!

My sister in law had cancer quite a few years ago. She will not use a microwave at all. Only a toaster oven. And still, I use my microwave. But reading your comment made me take pause and wonder why I just haven't bought a little toaster oven too, because you're right about the danger. Heating any plastic has never been a good idea and never cared to use utensils made of it. Underwriters Laboratories did studies on frozen food trays....those convenience items we like so much, and yes, chemicals leached into the food. I still buy them on occasion but remove the food then heat it in a toaster oven.

We just got rid of all of the black plastic. My household tries to use mostly glass containers. I have a few plastic containers, but plan on chucking them in the trash as soon as possible!
I was hanging on to those few plastic container I showed in the video. They were worn out, yet I held on to them, because they were lightweight. I threw them in the trash as soon as I finished the video. It just isn't worth the possibility of hurting our health. It's hard enough as it is to keep chemicals out of our homes since companies put it in everything.... including food.
Thank you for this great information. Unfortunately the Silicone utensils have high concentrations of chemicals in them as well. Though they don't break down as quickly, they do break down while cooking causing micro cracks in them that are very hard to see with the naked eye and releasing the toxins in them.

Except they have conflicting information, and it just isn't worth it to me, when it is so easy to switch to wood, stainless steel or silicone utensils and glass bowls for storing food. One man did a video on CBC on YT that says it isn't, but CBC radio says it Is toxic. Too much conflicting information to put my health at risk. I can't answer that for sure. Black plastic is a definite for toxins, but not sure about clear plastic. We have glass containers instead at our house that we leftovers in.
Interesting.. I have a lot of the black plastic storage containers. I will need to look at finding square glass containers I have some but they are bigger sizes. Good information. I primarily use wood or stainless utensils for cooking. But, as I’m looking around my kitchen thinking about replacing other black plastics I’m wondering about the coffee maker. Many of the components are black plastic & the lid on the pot caught my eye first. What do we do about that?
My favorite way to make coffee is in a cooking pot. It takes about 20 minutes, but it is the most flavorful. My filter is from a piece of cotton material, but you can also use a coffee filter. Add water to your pot add the coffee grounds to the filter and somehow tie it closed. Put it into the water pot, simmer, and you'll know that it's done when you smell the fresh aroma of brewed coffee
I use a stainless steel percolator because of the plastic in coffee makers. And using the plastic coffee pods are awful. A percolator solves the issue and to me makes a better cup of coffee.
Thank you. I got rid of all the plastic and got glass and silicone, but a lot of people are still using plastic. Silicone containers are expensive. Glass is the cheapest, but still have plastic lids, so you can't get away from the plastic lids unless you get the silicone stretch covers, and they are not the greatest.

Honestly, we can only do the best we can do. The items I mentioned are easy to replace. Coffee makers, not as easy. Before we ever had coffee makers what did our ancestors do? Use a percolator? I'm just thinking out loud.

Have you seen the reporting since about the study you are talking about? It was flawed and the math was wrong -- the black plastic toxicity was raised by a power of 10 -- in fact the black plastic is not dangerous.

You might as well get rid of the non-stick cookware, too. And, learn how to make your stainless cookware non-stick..
Agree. Teflon can leach into our food. Cast iron, stainless steel and ceramic seem to be the much better option.
