@@GenRN - water is a renewable resource Unless we are poisoning it with plastics etc. I don't think they figured out how to filter micro plastics out of our water yet.
Just because a product touts that it is 'BPA free' doesn't mean it's healthy. In fact nearly all plastic baggies are made of PE (polyethylene), which is usually BPA free. Ziploc and other sandwich bags are often made of low-density polyethylene (LDPE), which has been shown not to contain PFAS, however if exposed to heat or UV rays from the sun the plastic begins to break down. DON'T microwave food in them or risk leaching plastic chemicals into food. I've reduced plastic in my household, with the goal of eliminating plastics. It's very hard, since plastic is both ubiquitous and convenient. I now use silicone or glass storage containers, silicone or metal cooking utensils, and I have my concerns with silicone too.
You have to know what is safe I looked online to see what is safe. You have to look for plastic that has bpa in it. Now a days it's diffucult to completely avoid it completely. However you have to be aware of danger of certain plastics.
All the water out there isn’t plastic and unfortunately most people can’t drink the water from the tap. Even a filter doesn’t take out all the contaminants even they have put so many chemicals in your water that even filters don’t purify it 100% so what’s the solution? There is none you’re going to be exposed to some kind of plastic that is bad for you. What aggravates me more than anything about plastic is that polluting the whole world? Why can’t they just put things back into glass like they used to glass bottles without lead of course. But thank you for your information you’re very informative and I appreciate that.
Plastic Milk jugs. As soon as I gat them home, I transfer them into Glass milk bottles. You can get them at dairy supply stores. I even have small 8 oz. bottles for bring milk in my lunch.

Maybe I’ll just have raw fresh produce right off the stem… Oh wait! They all take chemical baths to increase growth and kill pests. SIGH. Think about your back yard gardens in the burbs. How many of your neighbors get their lawns sprayed every quarter? How many get their trees sprayed? Those that live in rural areas have to deal with aquifer pollution. How many live near land fills? How many live near pick and pull auto graveyards? How many live near properties that are illegal dump sites? How many live near neighbors that burn trash constantly? We live in a world that was allowed to be polluted. Life was simple before people wanted to make money off the backs of others. Now we all have to navigate the damage.

Bottled water should be gone, You don’t have to rebuy all new things..just eliminate and replace as you need.
@@justmejo9008 - I think that's going to be an individual process. It depends on the plastic stuff you already have, the stuff you expose yourself to the most. I would ditch personal care products first because not only are they full of toxic chemicals they are generally stored in plastic. Simplify simplify simplify! Changing to a non-toxic bed is a very expensive choice, but you spend eight hours a day in contact with it every day if you have half decent sleep. If you've already started a garden of edibles, you Are already on your way to eliminating some plastic exposure as well as toxic trash. Buying a reasonable number of glass containers to store leftovers in, or prepping ingredients, is a very good choice early on. In those cases I don't worry about a silicone/lid if I don't fill the container all the way to the top. The lid also helps me get a good grip on the container when I'm transporting it so I'm less likely to drop it and break it. Cutting boards should be an early choice because you're literally slicing plastic into your food. Those cuts in the plastic, when crossed a few times at different angles, is releasing plastic into your food. It's not just a contact problem. Clothing is a difficult issue. I hate my synthetic clothing but finding decent 100% cotton/linen/wool is difficult. I just want to mention baby diapers. Most Babies are wrapped in plastic for the first more less three years of their lives. Even most reusables are made of plastic materials. This is a huge problem! I still very much believe reusables are better, but this is something no one seems to talk about.
Cloth
I had 3 kids 2002-07 and my pediatrician discouraged me from using cloth. I kinda regret it. I looked into diaper services and laundering myself at the time the environmental impact leaned towards using disposable diapers because of the water use.
I recall when my sister and younger brother were in diapers, they were made of coton clothes +using safety pins. I was about 8 (now 68). My mom was dumping the 💩 into the toilet, and throwing the clothes into the wash machine..(Not sure about that detail, I can't visualize the wash machine. In former communist Hungary though I know that we didn't have one. My old grandma had to wash gigantic bedsheets by hand 😱🥺 I still recall the spanking I got after peeing in bed at 5, after being asked 10x before going to bed with my grandma and auntie, do I need to pee and I answered NO😁... ) I still remember the strong smell 😰 but it was all very natural.
I doubt I could convince my Son and D-in-law to stop buying Pampers for their next newborn this month...the 2.5 year old wears still wears them too.
You can still get a cotton diaper service and use wool soakers instead of plastic diaper covers. You have to change diapers more often, but is that a bad thing?
Not only that but plastic bags have micro plastics ALL OVER THEM. Just because you can’t see it doesn’t mean it’s not there.
You have to know what is safe I looked online to see what is safe. You have to look for plastic that has bpa in it. Now a days it's diffucult to completely avoid it completely. However you have to be aware of danger of certain plastics.
There are No Safe Plastics!

Clothes of polyester is cheap and horrible for the skin that can’t breathe in plastic. But more and more companies make clothes of polyester, unfortunately. A lot of people cannot afford natural materials clothes any more…
And don't wear wool and linen together, as the Bible says. They both vibrate at about 5K htz and cancel each other out.

Eliminating all these sources of toxins at once is very difficult. Could you please make a list prioritizing which should be eliminated first, etc? Please 🙏
Good ask! It won’t happen though. Our whole world is toxic so just start in baby steps. Heating plastic things in microwave or plastic utensils on the stove sitting in a pot of hot chili etc. are your first no no. Bottled water should be gone, You don’t have to rebuy all new things..just eliminate and replace as you need.
Do the chemistry. This is temperaturedependent processes to.
It's really expensive if it's done well… And those fabrics need to be done properly most of the time unless it's a pajama. Learning to sew would be a good idea and buying one of those retro singers from around 1950 to 1961 is probably the best bet because the newer computerized plastic machines are not made to last.
My mom made some amazing clothing for me on those machines.
it's important to shop for organic fiber sheets also.
But few things are more important than a good attitude, a healthy mindset. Forgiveness. Letting go of resentment. I have tried to find a salad spinner that was not plastic but could not find one. I did find one that was part stainless but the rest was plastic. Guess I will just have to use a clean pillowcase like I have seen some older folks do. Thank you for such good information. By the way, I use glass canning jars to hold food instead of plastic.

this is a great reason for growing banana plants in your organic garden, because you can cook things in banana leaves. I understand that you can do the same with canna leaves but I haven't tried that yet.
