Genus and tyson… that vibe is outer space. It feels effortless no struggle.
Herbie Hancock may have been the greatest musician of the 20th century
Rhythm section is killing it. James and Justin are so tight. Love it
Is so beautiful see him play the vinnie colaiuta groove in this tune.
Songs that continue to evolve.
What vibe is this OH MY GOD
Symbiosis !
Fantastic, revealing version. Herbie, as usually presents something quite new.
Wow! Next level ❤️🎶
JAMES GENUS the man!!!
Justin gonna give herbie a heart attack. He’s gonna die all Justin’s fault
my face melted clean off
yeah rewatching this, justin tyson is one of the greatest drummers on the face of the planet right now fr
lol my veins melted
Very vinnie Influenced. Also I know Mike Clark laid down the drums first but you can find many videos of Vinnie laying down the head groove like this
Che spettacolo,, musicisti incredibili
Dear Sir Herbie, playing this terrific in one's eighties is pure crime 😢... all these cats must be some aliens invading our earth with some real hard post boppy Jazz music too sophisticated for mere mortals.
Herbie.

How annoying that sound of the guitar, imitating a keyboard... how annoying.
They took this song to an entirely new level, it even goes places that weren't conceivable at the time of its recording. Terrance Blanchard, James Genus and Lionel Loueke really do things that are filled with subtle harmonic and melodic complexities with new timbres that really give Actual Proof a complete makeover. I actually found myself thinking that perhaps this version is even better than the original by only a bit, for where it goes with implied rhythms and chord changes, all done so swiftly as to not notice. Justin was of course fantastic on the drums but never brash or overly complicated, he played just right for each section, attentive yet strong, subtle yet never missing a beat. And of course we finally have Herbie who is in rare form, taking once again the helm and pushing this piece onward to a new domain.
Has it been 20 years since you heard Actual Proof? They've been playing it this way for quite sometime now
@@timcardona9962 homeboy stopped listening when flood came out. lolz
Where can I buy this concert? can't find any version online
Thanks Dad for the HH records. One of my favs.
Dawn!!!!!What a version!!!!!
CAN DO NO WRONG, these musical marvels ! "At age 11 Hancock played the first movement of a Mozart concerto with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. He formed his first band while a high school student. After graduating from Grinnell College in Iowa in 1960, he joined trumpeter Donald Byrd's group and moved (1961) to New York City. Terence Blanchard is an American trumpeter, pianist and composer. He started his career in 1982 as a member of the Lionel Hampton Orchestra, then The Jazz Messengers." A total gas !
Thank you! 🙂🙂
He is undeniably a god, up with a number of great composers. For me in Jazz no competition the best.

How wonderful to have Maestro Carter in the comments section! 💖
Herbie Hancock will go down in history as one of jazz's all time great piano players.
