@yammienoob Do you ever plan to visit the IOMTT? Not necessarily to race or ride it, but to watch the event?
my biggest flex is both my parents have raced in the isle of man
Time to make it a family tradition
@@lohchenghuat6388 got a long way to go before i’m anywhere good enough to even consider it tbh but would be awesome
2 guys?
@@ABunchOfBusas no mum and dad both did it, my mum didn’t finish the race though she crashed
THat’S flex! Woof!
Let's not forget that Peter Hickman broke the lap record again this year (2023) with a 136.358mph lap.... Mind boggling
He also broke it on a superstock bike
For him, it's just another Tuesday ride😂
@lohchenghuat6388 It is too. 😂 Hickman is so chilled.
On a Busa 🏍?
@@ABunchOfBusas m1000rr im pretty sure
I can't believe he is JUST FINALLY making a video on the TT!!! I've been watching this race for the past 15 years.
Same
And he did it badly
ermmm he did one a year ago^^
@@BisonMark Yes, yes he did...
@@Tearnofear I do remember something about it a while back, but it was just a quick mention.
This is a nuts of a race, rip everyone who’s passed racing it❤
You mean, rest in many pieces. LOL.
@@Curious_SkepticHilarious 🙄
It is “A nuts of a race” indeed
@@Curious_Skeptic nah I mean rest in peace no reason to be mean💜
@TullyOnABike not mean, just joking. It is a risk they knowing took in the spirit of fun, right? Not like anyone forces people into very high risk careers or sports, or hobbies. So, death and feeling bad about it?
Can't believe you left the younger Dunlop brothers out. Michael is great on the course, and William died on another.
Skerries 100 is where we lost William. NW200 for Robert and Joey at a race in Estonia.
MD is one of the GOATS
MD being only 1 win from tying his uncle joeys record after this year's of course
We met William before he passed. And we were there when Michael rode the first 16 minute lap of the Snaefel Mountain Course on the Isle of Man.
3 of 4 dunlops died reacing michael is only one left brother dad and uncle all died racing in TT not all on isle but same types of races. Joey His uncle for decades was the god of The TT oldest guy to win in his 50s before dying in another TT type race. That poor family has given their family to these races.
The bikes have to be modded to reduce as much weight as possible the counter the weight of these dudes massive balls
This motorsport is considered the most dangerous of all racing and sports, you must be dedicated to set the fastest time or speed and greet death as an old friend when youre behind the wheel. More than a hundred died on the annual race. These racers are the bravest and has the balls to defy their limits in speed.
This is why i respect and loved watching this sport 😊❤
To clarify, it's not a hundred in a year 😂 ~280 have died since 1911. For comparison, over ~180,000 died each DAY in 2022.
Behind the "wheel"
What bike has a steering wheel?
Not mentioning Michael Dunlop while doing Joey and Robert is a crime, the nephew of Joey is just 1 win short ot tieing his uncles record and becomming the greatest ever, also was the first rider to record a 130MPH lap on a 600cc bike.
Right! Just this year! Yam you gotta do MOAR research brotha!
Michael also rode the first 16 minute lap of the Snaefel Mountain Course on the Isle of Man. We were there.
been riding for a while..ive always respected a supersport inline-4 600cc and liter bikes...racing through the isle of man at full throttle is just insane ...
Michael and William Dunlop deserved a mention as well. Nephews of the great Joey Dunlop. Michael is now equal with Joey on 26 TT wins. William sadly passed away racing on the Island.
Carl Foggarty was another rider with multiple WSB titles and TT wins.
Our Lord an saviour Rossi rode a couple laps of the course and declared it too crazy for him and expressed his great respect for all those brave and talented enough to race.
They're all crazy and it's essential TV viewing for me. We get great coverage of the event on British TV
Michael has 25 but I’m sure he will match and beat Joey’s record.
William passed in the Skerries 100 in Ireland, not on the Isle of Man.
You say: "Our Lord an saviour Rossi rode a couple laps of the course and declared it too crazy for him and expressed his great respect for all those brave and talented enough to race."… and he was being guided round by his own hero and mentor, the great Giacomo Agostini, who knows his way around the Island pretty well, after scoring more than a few wins there himself.
Though there are many great races around the world the Isle of Man is the greatest test of man and machine. It is on my bucket list.
Other races have mass starts, Ulster gp, Northwest 200,

Outstanding video. The true champions of the Isle of Mann TT are the absolutely wonderful people who live there and resist the entire worlds efforts to stop their incredible invitation to all supremely talented motorcycle riders, from all over the world, to display their courage. I thank them for so perfectly showing what courage looks like. Those Isle Of Mann people are truly one of a great kind of people.
Peter Hickman, this year, redid the fastest lap ever done at the Isle of Mann TT. It is on UA-cam. It is the most insanely technically perfect street racing laps of any street course I have ever seen. Bravo Peter Hickman and the unbelievably fast BMW 1000 he is riding.
The Manx people were incredibly gracious to us when we were there for the TT.
You didn’t mention “mad Sunday”, it’s a blast.
Rarely mentioned is that all TT races are timetrials. Bikes set off at intervals so there is good separation of riders. The race is primarily against the course.
Thanks for making this video. It’s surprising that most of the big motorcycle UA-camrs don’t have a video explaining the TT.
Qualifying and practice are the same, and do not determine the starting order. Lap times set during qualifying are also not considered official, only race laps count for a lap record. Also don’t believe they do a Jr TT anymore
First time visit to the TT this year, what a wonderful week, crazy lying in a grass verge within touching distance of bikes passing at near 200mph, Dunlop Hickey n Harrison smashed it, cant wait to return in a couple of years.
Going over with your bike is something else. Great craic. Mad Sunday is something else.
It’s been massive in the UK for years and years! Thanks to gas monkey and people like that it’s going over to you guys in the US! You have to go and witness it for yourselves it’s breathtaking live😊
Glad you finally chose to cover this, it’s the best bike race in the world. 🙌
Did he mention 4+ laps are completed of the ~40 mile/60km course, meaning they're riding at these insane speeds (average ~135mph/~220kmh) for over an hour?
Nearly 2hrs on the superbikes
6 laps for the superbike and Senior TT races.
226 miles averaging over 130 mph including 2 pit stops for fuel and new rear tyre both times.
I went three times many years ago. Lucky enough to watch Hailwood make his return the first time. Went again the following year and again in 2000. Still have all the photo's. Makes you realise that when people brag about being 'fast' they have no clue what they are talking about. They could not hold a candle to these guys.
I think these riders experience time on a different level then us mortals. I realize it’s practice, practice, practice, but geeeeeze.
I ride like this on my vintage 2-stroke. Nothing like the feeling of red line shifting a 2 stroke motorcycle while leaning.
Loved my old R5 , 2 stroke, back in the day. Still have it , but,it's pretty much a heap of rust. But. I still ride an R1.
Old bikes just have a feel to them that modern bikes can't offer. I ride a '87 TZR250 1kt race spec and a'90 RZ350 hybrid with some goodies as well.
Hey Yammie, you failed to mention Mad Sunday when anyone can use the course on anything and at any speed.
Peter Hickman pulled somthing fantastic this year at the North West, his bike got banned so the dude decided, "screw it! imma just use my own bike" and came third. Absolutely fantastic mindset to watch. (also hats of to FHO for letting him do that, i couldn't see very many other teams allowing their riders to do that)
I was there, just a few weeks ago (June 2023). An amazing event all round and should be a bucket list item for everyone. Where else can you sit in a hedge less than two metres away from some of the best custom made or factory 'standard' bikes passing at 150-180mph? Superb countryside too. Loved the No Speed Limits One Way Mountain section - scary fun, as riding should be.
WELCOME TO THE MANX YEETFEST
I see the racers as dedicated to the race as though it were a ZEN exercise. The course must be run perfectly at the highest possible speed in every curve
And if you miss ZEN for one millisecond you gonna hit the nirvana.
Start position/numbers are assigned before the race meeting starts, not due qualifying times in practice week
Ace video. I went this year after watching it for a while on tv. The vibe of the island is awesome being a few feet from bikes doing over 100 is amazing.
The flame pic use when talking fatalities was Guy Martin in 2010 and he survived, albeit with singed eyebrows lol.
One more dampener. I know you love Rossi, but he said it’s too dangerous and only did one exhibition lap.
Bought a new 2000 F150 4x4 , in Wisconsin, went to Menards, bought all the stuff to tow my broke down 1983 Caddi back to the coast of N.C. , towed it back in snow and ice, bad weather all the way to Raleigh. Made it fine. At 66, I climb 100 ft trees, over the house, with a chainsaw. Ride an R1 on my off time. I take me ocean boat, 25 miles off shore, Atlantic Ocean, by myself. Isle of Man seems pretty do-able. I haven't died yet, this could be fun.
Just go. Put down a $500 deposit on accommodations for the 2025 TT, and figure the rest out. At your age, Peel would probably be more comfortable than dealing with the party crowd on the Prom in Douglas.
@@gurnblanston3210 The Prom in Douglas sounds like fun.
TT Isle of Man is the pinnacle of racing.
There are auto rally also but they don’t have near the challenge the bikes have. Running GP speeds with trees and solid buildings all around takes some big brass.
Thanks for this video! I’m riding the TT route (at regular street speeds and on a street bike 😂) on August 1! Special thanks to Jason Griffiths for letting me hire a bike.
We rented our Ducati from Jason too. Great guy.
Hopefully, one day, we'll see Buell bikes racing in a bunch of races. I want to see what they can do against competition
Just not quick or nimble enough.
And I love buells and have had 2,but it's just a fact
You can thank Harley for screwing Buell over at every turn and then forcing the shut down
I've been a few times. It's a fantastic event. Camping for the week makes it a very cheap and easy.
I can't believe he didn't mention my Guy even once. Guy Martin has done it all, Guy Martin Proper has some great videos in India, China, Russia, Japan, Chernobyl and others
You forgot the most innovative-motorcycle ever made and designed by one man , the 'Britten', which raced at The Isle Of Man . Also the fastest-bike around the course in 1994 ridden by Nick Jefferies . A brilliant rider from Ireland , also died at the same event , on one of the Britten-Bikes (RIP Mark Farmer ) Dave NZ
my instructor has ridden this fifteen times. Crazy that he was standing there watching me struggling to do a figure of 8.
Best summary EVER!! Seen many of them. This is the best!!
Lol. So you've never been, eh?
Great vid yam 🤘
You shpuld look up joey dunlop funeral, now that what i call respect estimated 60,000 + people from Ireland to a far as south America came to say goodbye , absolute legend
So hard to think about/explain/discuss. So many parts to talk about. So much history. Reeks of death but should not be stopped or changed. Guy Martin in my time. Only one ain't dead with that much time under his belt and on a modern machine. I'm 45 and have crashed and hurt my fair share and I don't want to think about going that fast where it's that tight. My old broken hands and feet and fingers ache just thinking about it
I'm pretty sure the only reason that Guy is still alive is because he once taught the grim reaper how to ride a motorcycle like he isn't afraid to die even though he kinda is death lol
@@OmgWtfTsuji afaik Martin crashed once or twice during the race as well and kept coming back for more. Sadly he retired a few years ago. When I first laid eyes on the TT over my uncles shoulder when I was but a wee lad, Martin was still riding his silver Norton(?). The only racer in a clean black suit and without any sponsors on his majestic machine. Now that I ride myself I'm definitley planing on visiting this race once in my lifetime. Participate? no way! Ride the track once? Hell yes!
Even got a little IOM Flag on my bikes tail now.
Great video bro
I don't know how you can straddle a motorcycle with balls that freakin huge!
The women at festival give dig out lol went one year with work and was eye opener . They say women into equestrian pursuits are horniest,,add motorbikes to that.
I know its rather new info, but Peter Hickman pushed the lap speed over 136 earlier this year.
Planing a trip out for the 2025 tt. Have a friend that grew up just north of the island and knows some guys who work the tt!
Nice video, well done!
good info yam! thanks
Lol. He's just regurgitating stuff from a Google search- He's obviously never even been there.
What a fascinating event.. Thanks for the detailed video..
Peter Hickman set a new course record of 136.358 mph in 2023.
Best motor sports event on planet earth, and I say that as someone that absolutely loves racing…NASCAR, WRC, NHRA, all of it.
i was there a month ago, was awesome
How did you know !!! Man this guy is on point with the vids 😂🤙🏼
I haven't paid attention to the TT in years, but all i want is for Guy Martin to come back if he's still in retirement and to finally win the big one.
Just about as many people have died at the Isle of Man TT as have died climbing Mount Everest
That is fascinating. Yammie noob you should go and cover this thing live on the ground.
Great Video
Good to see the yanks doing a video on the TT. Unfortunately road racing is dying out as events here in Ireland and the UK are unable to get insurance. Side note I'm surprised you didn't mention mad Sunday, where the course was opened to the public
That's because he's never been there.
Would be fun to ride this same track at my own pace, lol. Which is literally just cruising speeds and some dashes to higher km's since i'm unfamiliar with the layout.
If I recall correct, it's possible to ride the lap (not sure if it is the exact lap as the race, I thought it was) with your own bike.
You can do a lap of the course any time of the year the roads are public and the speed limits are only in the towns once you leave the towns its ride at your own speed more or less
Please do remember this isn't a buzzling metropolis, it's a sleepy, cozy island that gives us the TT every year in its graciousness.
Don't blast around there the other 345 days and make the people hate us riders and then take our TT away, leave them in peace when it's not TT time. They earned some peace and quiet. I'm sure not everybody on the island appreciates the whole road network closing for weeks, the deaths, the spectacle - don't give them any more ammunition.
You can do it on mad Sunday and it's as raceday with no general traffic
@BisonShoulders hasn't been an unrestricted mad Sunday for decades. Only place you can go flat out on the TT course is the mountain section. Nowhere else at any time unless you're a racer
@ryancox3834 haha I last went in 91,got trip sorted for next year tho. Goddam it's expensive nowadays and have to book everything like 2 years ahead.
Can't wait tho
Yammie, just so you know, some of the races are only four laps; others, like the IoM TT Senior, are six laps. The riders to pit stops on every second lap (lap 2 and lap 4) to refuel and change the rear tire.
It is ironic that the TT was removed from the Grand Prix racing schedule because of all the deaths and the injuryies. Now stock racing style motorcycles make two or three times what a race bike did 4 horsepower back in the 1950s and the 1960s. Oh well that's life.
Oh Dorna/FIM adding street circuits to the Grand Prix calendar would be epic... A man can dream
This year saw phenomenal weather: two weeks of constant sunshine, no rain. Records were broken right and left. And you only messed on pronunciation; Ballaugh is pronounced as Ballauk.
Hon Westport!! Lovely place to visit if you ever get a chance.
You need to go. And you need to experience a mad Sunday at the Isle of Man! Go ride the course.
It's surprising that John Hinds wasn't mentioned. He wasn't a competitor but a true hero of the race.
id love for you to do a full breakdown of the Dunlop family. They are all fantastic and have been my local hero's for decades.
You live in Ballymoney?
It’s a good video Yammie Noob. Few errors but all can be forgiven. Get yourself over there and watch!
Got to hold lap time signs for Peter Hickman this last 2023TT. The speeds are absolutely insane. You have to be there to feel it in your guts. Would recommend 13/10
Would love to see you cover tbe rest of the race calendar such as the Northwest 200 , cookstown 100 , skerries 100 , ulster gran prix
Just a note for the pronunciations -
Snaefell - "Snay" "Fell"
Ballaugh - "Bah" "Laff (Laugh)"
Creg Ny Baa - "Creg" "Nuh/Nih-Bar"
Otherwise spot on and brilliantly put together video.
See you there Yam
Isle of man is for the guys with big balls, nothing compares to it... for me they are the most skilled riders. Circuit riders do the same thing thousands of times, they perfect their ride . If you want to prove your skills, isle of man for sure
Yer Man Joey Dunlop was awesome to see. I loved David Jefferies and Davey Lambert.
As a local, you’ll find me being a squid daily between douglas and peel 🤣🤙
You live on Ellan Vannin? We stay in Peel for the TT. The party crowd on the Prom in Douglas, especially around Bushy's Beer Tent, is too much for us.
TT is more akin to Nurgburgring in terms of racing... it's a well-kept but still woefully tricky track that once you have it memorized... well, that's when the addiction kicks off. Difference between the two being that the later is open to regular cars for many days of the year...
So is this course open to the public travel when racing isn't going on? It would be nice to ride the island at my own ( RE Himalayan) speed.
A correction. Bob McIntyre died at I think Oulton Park not the IOM. An Italian who crashed at the Verandah was the impetus for it to be removed from the World Champs.
Classes are superbike, supersport, supertwins, superstock and sidecars. What your calling the Junior TT is actually a different race that’s in the manxgp.
You forgot SuperStocks....
@@N269 so I did 🤦♂️.
Isle of man is amazing. Great video. Is the Dunlop family in any way related to the tire company?
No ....
I was on the podium many times in my racing days. Money, hard work, good eating, hard training, good team, nice bike and some 'necessary risks' involved.
I wasnt half bad! Many people would tell me: "You're fast man!" or "nice pass!"
But each & everyone of us felt like a dimple on a pimple on a sand fly's ass compared to TT Riders. Still do.
Everything's relative I suppose.
now do a video on the north west 200 , actual racing not time trials, same bikes, more spectator vantage points
I live on the island 🇮🇲
Out of race season you can ride the course & the mountain mile .. there is no speed limit over the mountain
It's such an amazing race. The concentration, the bravery. It's unlike any racing event! God Bless the Dead❤
It’s really cool to have Lazlow from GTA V commentary for the video
Thanks
Watching Hickman's cam is insane.
Those guys utterly lack the fear gene.
i know it is probably all copyrighted but you should of stuck some raw on board footage with audio in, scary stuff. brilliant video, love the content. any plans to go watch the TT?

@liambeal9018 I'm a retired cop, and we had considered retiring there as American ex-pats, but your immigration laws are as strict as ours. Even if I bring my retirement pension and paid medical, I still can't get a "retirement" visa from your country.
You missed the reason as to why the race is held on the iom and not on the mainland
Bhaiya how does it sound so good . Its different from other long bottle . Do you put any extra equipment
I want to race there, and i will do everything it takes to get there
The first time I saw this race as a kid it just so happened to be the side car race. I honestly thought it was like a red bull flugtag thing where it was a kind of crazy joke
When it comes to skill and determination, these guys are on another level!👍
Have a Look at the
Senior TT Race Carl Foggarty (Yamaha) v Steve Hislop ( Norton Rotary ) 1992
1st, great discussion and narrative.
There is NO Junior TT (at least as far as I can remember)- perhaps you are thinking of the MGP Newcomers race?
Ballaugh - NOT BALLOW - Ba -LAUGH - as in HA HA laugh. "Balaff"....
Comparing MotoGP to TT - well it's like compariing feral kittens to lions... you get the drift.
You forgot about the S100 where these same gladiators run the Billown course.... next time?
Perhaps you should visit and witness yourself? It's alot different up close...
As regulations changed over the years, the Junior TT was renamed as the Supersport TT… When I first went to the TT, solo classes were 'Lightweight' (250cc), Junior (350cc), Senior (500cc) as per the GP classes, along with 'Production' and TT Formula One (close to today's Superbike class). In previous years, there were classes for 125cc and even 50cc. Sidecars were initially full sized, but in later years became restricted to F2 (initially 350cc two stroke twins or 600cc four stroke), and now follow current sidecar F2 regs.
@@chrisgraham5186 Thanks Chris. Those races well before my time, but am aware of the F2 size reduction on the chairs. Yeah things have changed dramatically from those days. Hopefull this is not the last for the Manx???? (Rumour is rife)👍
