I am glad people kept the commercials in these recordings. Some recordings we did back in the day we left them out. I remember when I thought commercials were annoying. Now, they are annoying and now I miss these! Commercials -- especially the 80s are the best pieces of advertisement! I love the jingles. Don't have those anymore...or at least not good ones.
I live in Indy, and grew up in Indy - so awesome to see all these commercials...as I am watching my memory immediately goes back to the time and place I first seen them ...great memories. :-)
I really consider commercials to be a kind of visual time capsule of the culture of that particular time. I hope there is some kind of master archive somewhere so that future inhabitants (when we're gone) can see what we were like. I can't get enough of these (still remember that Wrigley's jingle word-for-word I swear).
I remember that commercial for Cortizone 5. It ran for quite awhile. The Chef for "It's a Living" played on an episode of the Golden Girls. The episode where Blanche was trying to get a hot tub installed. He was the inspector. I remember the old bottle for Pert Plus lol.
Well im for one glad you posted these. Helps me remember and re live the days when i grew up as a kid and was much better then anything going on now. Kids these days need good tv then just playing video games all the time.
@apachette07 one of the actresses on "It's a Living" had a long arc as Danny's girlfriend on "Full House" which is ironic, considering that this "Bosom Buddies" had him as a guest star
I just want to take a minute to thank you for uploading all of these commercials. They really do take me back to a simpler time (one that I miss) and they just have a charm that current commercials just don't have. I could, and have, watch these for hours - they're very comforting. Thanks again for all of the effort, I sincerely hope these are always here.
80sCommercialVault, I really enjoy all of your awesome classic commercials! Never stop posting them, no matter what evil UA-cam trolls think! Thank you!
that's an awesome mannish suit on Pamprin lady 2:07, "get into the 80's" LOL. great 80's hair there, too 3:25, I remember O'Boises chips. Yum! "we'd do it like you'd do it" vaguely suggestive slogan FTW "It's a Living" must've been VERY short-lived... ha! i'm funny I remember those Bac-os ads, too bad they have no real bacon in them ahh...yes. the beginning of the calorie bomb known as the cheeselover's pizza this ep of "Bosom Buddies" costarred Bob Saget. Interesting...
Juicy Fruit: Even the Slim packs today still pack that juicy fruit taste in every strip. Payless ShoeSource: Most ads today don't even say "ShoeSource" like what the store name says, except this one. They said it. Preston Safeway: It's like IN's Safeway from AZ Discount Rental: Reminds me of today's Rent-A-Center Fiberfull: Looks like an 80s version of today's Fullbars. Who Framed Roger Rabbit: I think there's gonna be a sequel soon. Am I right? Isuzu: Saying Joe Isuzu sounds like Joey Suzu.
0:00--One of many great jingles used by Wrigley's over the years. 1:30--I too think Raisin Nut Bran is one of the best raisin-bran cereals. 2:31--Barney Miller was, and is, a great show! It is currently rerunning on the retro network Antenna TV. 3:01--Given that this aired in Indiana, I am guessing that Preston Safeway is not connected to the Safeway supermarket chain in the West. 6:33--I remember those BacO's ads very well. Do they even make BacO's anymore? I haven't seen them in my area for a while. 7:03--Pizza Hut was better back then. At least they went back to their old logo; I never cared for the modernized version.
"Take a sniff, pull it out, the taste is gonna move ya when you pop it in your mouth." I didn't notice the latent sexuality of those Juicy Fruit commercials back when I was 8 years old lol.
It's strange we're only 20 years removed from a store bragging it doesn't accept credit cards. I'm surprised Barney Miller was still running in such a prominent time slot in 1988. I think the Dallas station that had it had long since regulated it to late night by then. Cocktail and Roger Rabbit weren't exactly going after the same audience. That tall woman with the black, curly hair in the Bosom Buddies credits sure looks familiar. I wonder if she ever did anything Big?
Hills doesn't ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS? No wonder they were out by the 90s! Preston Safeway surprisingly enough, is NOT related to the Safeway chain. To answer your Burger King question, NOT well. It's A Living was aired on WWOR in New York. From Bosom Buddies we have Reb Brown -- "Big McLargeHuge" from Space Munity, and BOB SAGET!!!! ( from the Tourrette's guy)
That's David Alan Grier in that Isuzu commercial!

Why was I singing the Juicey Fruit jingle, word for word. How and the heck do I still know this song?
Raisin Nut Brand really has improved my life drastically.
I love the pink knee length cardigan and the pearls on the lady in the Secret commercial. Sooooo 80's.
@apachette07

I thought it was funny how it went from the no cholesterol Bisquick to the Pizza Hut cheese lovers pizza commercial immediately afterwards LOLOL!

Lots of us record movies, but I guess the new gen can't grasp that.
I remember Picway Shoes, there was one in Warren-Champion, Ohio and I used to go there to get shoes with my family alot when I was a kid.
This was right before I started my freshman year, love it!
Keebler made potato chip? Strange!
Love the old Pepsi logo!
BTW< That dude is way too into his salad!
Wow I remember picway shoes along with fayva, sad they are gone now.. as most things from the 80s
Before TARGET or Walmart, it was all about HILLS in the little town I grew up in!! lol. Boy did that bring back memories! :-)

@circuit50641
Telma Hopkins was also "aunt rachael" on Family Matters. i'm a TV geek
It's about time. I'm sick of all these stores that accept credit cards.
"Take a sniff... Pull it out..." Best words I ever heard in a commercial!! Thank you Juicy Fruit!
Do they still make Secret? Anyone?
I think that "flasher" from Barney Miller was Grandpa from Willy Wonka.
Bac-Os are actually flavored TVP pellets. That means Vegetable Protein. Yeah, that's about the furthest thing from bacon you can get.
But Natalie and Tutti ever patch things up? We must know these things!
I have that episode downloaded on my Xbox 360.
@magnacore11 yes i have some on now
There's no bacon in Bac-O's :|
Guh, Bac-Os are gross.
I've always wanted to see Barney Miller.
@Anarchist86ed Why do so many people assume that these are from tapes with JUST commercials recorded on them? It drives me crazy.
Does anyone really like salad that much? I think not.
@magnacore11 Yes.:)

I don't mean to be crude, but for once can we please see a weight loss commercial with someone who LOOKS like they need to loose weight! :/
