I watched The Real Ghostbusters cartoon A LOT as a kid. This batch of 80s commercial is a major flashback. I most likely watched these exact ones a good 23 years ago. Crazy! 80s kids have the best nostalgia to look back on!
You are so amazing, thank you so much !! (Thanks for everything you said in the description )and for this whole entire channel! And wow I cannot believe the number of commercials you have from the late 80s !! It’s so incredible! I’m just realizing the 80s commercials on here are all 1986 through 1989 amazing !! Xoxo
I had a Purrtender (the pink and white cat disguised as a Toucan). The disguise was kinda chinsey but the Purrtender was very cuddly - heavy, but cuddly! I also had a Nosey Bear (with the basketball hoop in its nose). Girls toys were definitely strange, but what a time to be a kid!
Im glad i grew in the 80s. I feel sorry for kids these days they have nothing good to watch on tv no more specialy on saturday mornings. Now its just get up and play video games or go on the internet to look up crap and piss people off.
Oh man, I didn't realize this was local for me until I saw the (408) area code on the 976-6000 Easter Bunny commercial. I completely forgot about how often those came one and my Mom told my brother and I never to call any number that start with 976 LOL
+Sean Victorine Keep in mind that the 408 area code has changed since then. I'm from Santa Cruz and that used to be our area code until around 1996, when it was changed to 831. I think the 408 area code is for South San Jose now.
@F1315NJ For the record, when I had that commercial posted on another account some guy claimed it was the work of his old animation studio and that he hadn't seen it in years.
1:12--"I'm cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs"--that is an iconic advertising slogan. 2:44--The Honeycomb jingle is a classic. 3:26--I wonder how many kids dialed those 1-900 and 976 numbers without their parents' permission--and how many parents deducted the cost from their kids' allowances? 7:37--The Hooks commercial seems to be a style parody/pastiche of early rock and roll music. 8:54--Whether or not you liked Fruity Marshmallow Krispies, how can you not love the catchy calypso-flavored jingle? I heard that some people originally thought the word "shapes" sounded like a bad word, so they rerecorded it to make that word sound more distinct. 9:36--The M & M's jingle is great too. Back when M & M's came in 2 varieties--Plain (now called Milk Chocolate) and Peanut. 10:07--"It's a honey of an O"--another iconic jingle. 13:30--My 2nd favorite Golden Grahams jingle (for me, nothing will ever beat "Oh, those Golden Grahams" from the late 70's/early 80's). This one is based on the 60's hit "Happy Together" by the Turtles. (The Nylons did a great cover of it in the 80's.)
What they didn't mention is that you use the giant bubbles to entrap the kids who don't like you. Then they float quietly away, the bubbles eventually popping over a deep, secluded canyon.
All right! Made it to the 200th set! Plus, kids ads from the late 80s! I know I'm gonna love these! I WANT A BIG CEREAL WITH A BIGGGG TASTE Do we get the Magic Drugs(TM) by calling He Man? Remember the Nickelodeon Super Toy Runs that did something similar to the Cap'n Crunch contest? Those 900 and 976 numbers are ancient 80s relics by now! So huge bubbles earn me street cred? Good to know. The Willow NES game was much better.
I totally had that He-Man poster up in my very first room, and i've been looking for a reference to online forever you just made me week. I sure as hell didn't call a 900 number to get it though I was a pretty smart kid
KBHK was just one of hundreds of independent stations back then. And I assume it was up to the owner or program director of each station whether they would air these sorts of ads. So who knows how common they really were. I'm pretty sure they didn't air on network TV though and were strictly a cable/syndication thing.
80sCommercialVault Yeah if I remember correctly they were pretty prevalent on the independent stations. Just a easy way to rustle up some revenue I suppose.
Hollywoods must have been Barbie's acid-dropping, weed smoking younger sisters He-Man homoerotic phone sex! what every kid wants. my oldest bro still has the entire set of action figures those Purr-tenders have to be the cutest things i've ever seen. i want one! i've actually tried calling some of those numbers, most are out of service or changed that's sure a creative product name "Bubble Thing" i'm glad to see so many "girl toy" ads best volume EVER!!!! i remember Fazz, good times

Dude thanks so much!! You even got the commercials from my favourite cartoon of all time: The Real Ghostbusters!...ah this takes me back
Wow makes me realize how innocent of a time it was compared to now
I was 6 in 1988, and this nostalgia hits me right in my feels!
The Eighties had just the right balance of well... everything.
Congrats on your 200th video!! You have brought such awesome memories to us children of the 80's! Here's to 200 more videos!!
THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL THE EFFORT AND TIME YOU PUT IN.

Or oops not all of them- you do have earlier 80s on here, but still so much from late 80s so cool
The cartoon clip at 6:40 is from the movie "Gulliver's Travels" (Fleischer Studios, 1939).
I miss the 80s...I wish companies would do ads like they used to.....
I grew up in Fremont and Fairfield and now live in San Francisco and I like how all of these are based in the Bay Area
I love these videos! Ive been watching for a while now.
Thank you for posting these. Im gonna watch the rest of this volume.
Great...now I have the urge to watch an episode of "The Real Ghostbusters"
Thumbs up!!!
the M&Ms jingle, 9:37 is so catchy! Makes me want to get packs after packs
Im glad i grew in the 80s. I feel sorry for kids these days they have nothing good to watch on tv no more specialy on saturday mornings. Now its just get up and play video games or go on the internet to look up crap and piss people off.

I couldn't be mad at the Honey Nut Bee, 10:07, I'm allergic to that kind of cereal, but I always liked the Bee. He's clever and funny.
I Remeber that fruit rice kirspies ad!! It aired a lot during thundercats to. I havnt heard that jingle in 30 years. That was awsome
@F1315NJ For the record, when I had that commercial posted on another account some guy claimed it was the work of his old animation studio and that he hadn't seen it in years.
Wonderful! Congrats on the 200th posting of my favorite channel on UA-cam!! :-)
I remember getting one from Masters of the Universe Magazine when I was small.
"Willow" rocked!
Really miss all these awesome commercials!!! Hope you haven't run out of videos to post, I'll be very sad!
The Commercial at 12:29 makes me laugh. There's a monster after us, lets stop and eat cheerios.
It may be just imagination, but i think they air less cereal commercials
Nostalgia overload!!! XD
I believe I had that Hollywoods roadster too.

Wow learned something new..thanks for explaining the toll numbers 80s Vault
Congratulations on the milestone.
What they didn't mention is that you use the giant bubbles to entrap the kids who don't like you. Then they float quietly away, the bubbles eventually popping over a deep, secluded canyon.
976 numbers, my parents said NEVER or BIG TROUBLE LOL.....
I got it from Toys R Us free with my purchase of He Man stuff. It was a great poster. Wish I still had it ;(
This really makes me realize how good life was back in the day. It was such a good time to be a kid. These days life is just not that good.
All right! Made it to the 200th set! Plus, kids ads from the late 80s! I know I'm gonna love these!
I WANT A BIG CEREAL WITH A BIGGGG TASTE
Do we get the Magic Drugs(TM) by calling He Man?

The Willow NES game was much better.
You just know that Nosy Bears were the result of a late night cocaine fueled Hasbro think session.
Congrats on your bi-centennial. Great commercials here. It really feels like I'm watching Saturday morning cartoon in the 80s.
Dang! Those 1-900 numbers really raked in the money! $2.35 for 2 minutes......lol
God, the real ghostbusters was an awesome cartoon...
Cool thumbnail dude!
the puppets in that 976 number commercial creep me out ._.
What happens I'd you call the number?
I totally had that He-Man poster up in my very first room, and i've been looking for a reference to online forever you just made me week. I sure as hell didn't call a 900 number to get it though I was a pretty smart kid
I still have my Purr-Tender.
Barbie's Ferrari was the BEST car.
6:57 best one
God I remember most of these
Never realized there were so many 976 ads back then.
KBHK was just one of hundreds of independent stations back then. And I assume it was up to the owner or program director of each station whether they would air these sorts of ads. 7:53 does that cartoon bit look a little Osamu Tezuka-ish? Like from Kimba the White Lion or something?
I recognize the voice of the ghost in ghostbuster bumps: It's Frank Welker!
man, barbie commercials have not changed...
My mom was so mad at me I called a lot of those numbers think the phone bill was around $300
I had that perfume Barbie!!!! I miss that
4:59 good God is that ghost thick
Had no idea Arsenio Hall had done anything before Coming To America.
a great time to be alive
@dynomitis They were produced by Playskool, a subsidiary of Hasbro.
What the hell is wrong with that bee knocking down that kids tower I would be pissed!
Honey Comb's big
Yeah yeah yeah!
I wonder how they can quantify that "Big taste".
You can no longer reach She-Ra or He-Man at 1-900-909-2233 which I can safely say is a bummer.
7:57 AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@badbobbyhughes I doubt the poster was exclusive to the phone line.
Man, there was no shortage of 976 and 1-900 numbers back then lol
80s-mid 90s: Good original music.
Mid 90s - now: Blasphemous remixes of 80s songs & shitty pop songs from the radio.
1:10 W O W
Can't not see that yellow puppet as Rick Sanchez. He even has the hair.
Who knew Heman had a gay sex 900 number?
I had a secret keeper!!
Damn, did Nostalgia Critic just steal this whole vid and claim it as a review?
Good question.
@F1315NJ
By who??
Hollywoods must have been Barbie's acid-dropping, weed smoking younger sisters
He-Man homoerotic phone sex! what every kid wants. my oldest bro still has the entire set of action figures
those Purr-tenders have to be the cutest things i've ever seen. i want one!
i've actually tried calling some of those numbers, most are out of service or changed

KBHK really liked those 976 numbers
6:56 WTF !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What's up with the ghosts voice? I remember it being more human like. We know return to the Real Ghostbusters.
wait in the real ghostbusters I thought he only voiced Slimer
No. He voiced Ray, Slimer, the ghost in the bumpers and also whatever incidental voices an episode required.
Aging blows
I 🩷 Barbie!
late as fuck, video volume down, music up as fuck
