Mick is the special, guitar and his soil... this song is comforming to him absolutely sorry am russian your lang and you all is wonderful ive been listening this kind of art from the deep childchood
You've obviously never heard of Peter GREEN!!! Never Heard of Steve Hillage either it seems! Check some of Greens 24 minute solo's on 'The Vauderville Years'! Rattlesnake Shake 24minutes otherworldly guitar The Green Manalishi 17 minutes solo, The Madge 16 minutes solo etc
"Clapton was a heroin zombie" that was a urban myth, like keith and his blood transfusion in canada. clapton was just a drunk, pete townshend had to drag him out of it. he rides that crossroads legend, to keep his lack of writing skills from exposing his soft underbelly. he paid robert cray millions never to play old love again, a song he wrote.

Possibly the most underrated song in rock or any genre.
This is universal knowledge by now. Some people keep saing that Brian Jones was the "man", but Brain was only the key for the early-mid sixties, precisely the sound and spirit the early punk rock/New wave aimed to rediscover in the late 70 underground Rock scene in New York, before the Ramones transformed the concept of Punk when they arrived to London for a tour in 76-77. In the mean time, the Rolling Stones made a tremendously mature turn in their music when Brian Jones left and Mick Taylor joined the Stones. His guitar work was a destiny for the band to assured the band's impact through the 70s beyond the influence of the new heavy metal scene. THose songs played by Taylor gave the credibiliy to the band
Besides his obvious gifts, the reason Taylor has endured, is his integrity. He has stayed true to himself, and to the music. The Rolling Stones turned into aging parodies of themselves, but not Taylor. His work is as alive and vibrant today, as it was decades ago.
The lyrics are heavy duty. Jagger/Richards song writing should never be overlooked, nor should Mick Taylor's guitar efforts during this time period. Absolutely phenomenal.
Indeed, but Mick Taylor's songwriting got snubbed by the Glimmer Twins on this cut. He got no credit at all, which is a travesty, and one of his reasons for leaving the band. What is this song without Taylor's soaring solo?
Yes, I am aware of some discredit thru out his time with the group. I suppose the Jagger-Richards collaborations were well established at this point in the Stones career, and it couldn't be tampered with by allowing other members seep into the song writing credits, businessly speaking. However, I do agree with you, MT brilliant guitar playing never really got the credit it should have, and yes this song would be useless without his guitar construction. This is one of my favourite songs of the Mick Taylor era along with Winter, and his live performance of Sympathy for The Devil on Get-Yer-Ya's Ya's Out.
It's such a beautiful number. I bet this song is about Mick Taylor writing about his life as a stone. the guitar is so beautifully played it's an extension of Micks soul. Jagger ripped him off. So sad.
Great version and yes MIck was quite the guitarist. I love this song since I would close my eyes and drift along with it and suddenly I felt relaxed in the flow!
I cant say how much this song has and always will move me , this version, and others by mick taylor and his band. A go to for me , as always , of course with a little help from me friends.
" ... Drink in your summer, gather your corn The dreams of the night time will vanish by dawn And time waits for no one, and it won't wait for me....."
My favorite Rolling Stones song - this acoustic version is great, but I still prefer the 6+ minute electric original. Brilliant riffs, vocals and general orchestration.
Ronnie is good and plays a pretty sounding guitar sometimes, but Mick Taylor is brilliant. It is a shame that he left, for there is no telling how great they could have been. What a talent, I hope he collaborates with them some more after this tour. Thank you Mick!
Ronnie's best work was with The Face and Rod Stewart before Rod went off the rails. Search for the live stuff here on youtube. In my opinion he sold his creative soul for Stones fame and fortune.
Mick Taylor made the stones the stones greatest songs came in the period of mick Taylor and I believe that Jagger best came out with Taylor playing while Keith was really messed up on drugs
Jagger & Taylor actually wrote this song together that Jagger/Richards took credit for just like Moonlight Mile, etc. One of the main reasons Taylor left the Stones.
Ronnie Wood was in the band for 18 years before he was made a “full member” of the band, so maybe they thought Toothpick should have waited quietly for a few more years before he got any ‘real’ credit, but that’s just the conclusion I came to as I listened with my head down in my living room.
Loved the Stones all my 67 years. Mick & Keith. Mick Taylor. Charlie too. But, why were they so tight giving songwriting credits to other band members? It’s clear Mick Taylor contributed to dozens of songs. Jagger confesses to love working with Taylor. Jagger would sing something & Taylor would stretch it out into a masterpiece. FFS, give him royalties. If the contract with record companies doesn’t allow it, do it out of your own vast bank accounts.
This not Mick singing...this is Erwin Nyhoff, former lead-singer in the Dutch Rock band 'The Prodigal Sons' back in the 90's...Mick is just playing the lead-guitar ;-) Just search for Erwin Nyhoff or Pr. Sons...great voice..
842 likes. 129K views. What's wrong with this picture? Stunningly brilliant! I started my Sunday with this version...Who is Erwan Nijoff? What a voice! We was robbed! As much as the Stones missed out on Mick after he left the band, Mick didn't have the Stones backing him...Charlie and Bill? Nope. Too bad. We missed out. Damn did we miss out!!
Mick Taylor made his contributions to the Stone's legend, We must give him that, but he was not as important as a lot of people here like to think. The Stones did just as well before and after MT was gone, and it should be very evident to those that don't have their eyes and minds shut.
Mick Taylor. The best thing that ever happened to the Stones. And they were so damned selfish they couldn't keep him. Shame on you Jagger and Richards... Now you've got Ron Wood. Good luck!
I LOVE MICK! I LOVE ALL THE GREATS EQUALLY, YET PARTIAL TO BLUES OF JOHNNY WINTER, ALVIN LEE, RORY GALLAGHER, SRV, CLAPTON, PAGE, RICHIE BLACKMORE, AND THE LIST GOES ON AND ON...I PLAY EACH ONE OF THEIR STYLES THE BEST I CAN WHEN I PLAY THEIR MUSIC ON GUITAR....I CAN'T SAY WHO IS THE TOP AFTER MY TRUE FAVORITE, *JOHNNY WINTER!* ALVIN LEE CLOSE.... BUT, I DO LOVE MICK TAYLOR'S STYLE THAT MADE THE STONES BETTER!
This song was inspired by the stones tour in Brazil. The record version sounds like Carlos Santana , But it's the one and only Mick Taylor. A fucking Genius
Gabe Kis Right right! Good ear for pointing out the Santana in Taylor’s guitar solo Saw Taylor once in Philadelphia with his band Air conditioning was down Place was empty Could not help but feel bad for the guy What a guitarist!
omeletpants There were a few reasons that I've heard Mick Taylor say in interviews. At the time of Exile, the band was pretty dysfunctional which was frustrating, Mick Taylor found he was getting sucked into the drug life which bothered him, and he wasn't getting the song credits he felt he deserved. He rephrased this to say he wasn't writing enough with the band so wanted to develop more on his own. On top of this, you have to consider that Keith Richard wasn't playing lead guitar at this point. If you listen to Time waits for no one, Can't you hear me knocking, Gimme Shelter and really most of the songs in the 1969-1974 era and Mick Taylor played the lead guitar. Keith provided some outstanding riffs but was mostly playing rhythm ... so I think it would have been inevitable that Keith would feel upstaged by Mick Taylor and that there would be some friction.
Keith has always said good things about MT and wondered why he left? I don't think Keith cared that MT took the solos. Keith was never really into being a virtuoso player. My 2 cents.
One of the Stones most beautiful songs, likely the guitar written by MT but all of the cover versions (try Widespread Panic's version) all are missing the piano of Nicky Hopkins. He and MT made the song. Also Shine a Light as well.
MICK TAYLOR MADE THE STONES AS THEY WERE NOT GOING ANYWHERE AND DEAD UNTIL HE JOINED THEM...SHAME ON KEITH RICHARDS FOR BEING SO JEALOUS AND SELFISH! MICK IS THE BEST GUITARIST THAT THEY EVER HAD!
FIRST IS THERE MORE MICK TAYLOR & ERWAN NIJHOFF??????my guess is mick & mick wrote this and little mick did not get the credit. he is one of the greats lost to fate mick taylor, peter green and michael bloomfield life is a bitch
Acoustic? I don’t think so. There is an acoustic guitar playing the chords, but all the leads are played on an electric guitar on clean settings. Two guitars. I like it a lot, but it’s not an acoustic version of the song.
Will LOVE the Stones until I die. But, when Mick Taylor left, they went downhill. Except for “Some Girls” their 1990’s album. Their misogynistic lyrics really disturb me though. Reckon M & K will regret them too, having produced lots of lovely daughters who are probably insulated by wealth.
I certainly hope you know Mick Taylor how much your fans love you. You were the most beautiful thing the Stones ever had on that stage !!!!!!!
One of the best songs ever written in my humble opinion.
Don't be humble...
You are correct. Best song ever written 😎
D'cord
Mick is the special, guitar and his soil... this song is comforming to him absolutely
sorry am russian
your lang and you all is wonderful
ive been listening this kind of art from the deep childchood
One of the saddest songs in the whole world, and most profound. Don't let it waste.
In 1971 Duane Allman and Hendrix were dead, Clapton was a heroin zombie. In that period Mick Taylor was arguably the greatest guitarist in the world
Mick Taylor was certainly one of the best at this time, but let's not forget Rory ...
Mick Taylor will always be better than clapton . And Taylor is a better slide player than Duane too.
Rory Gallagher also..Taylor is much better than Roonie Taylor is my favorite guitar of all Stones

Possibly the most underrated song in rock or any genre.
I think it's almost safe to say that the Mick Taylor days IN MY OPINION were the best days the Stones had...
ya think...lol
ya think..lol
Agreed
With no dis on any other guitarist, YES. Musically the best era of the Stones. Respect from a Dead Head.
This is universal knowledge by now. The genius of Mick Taylor
Love this version. Miss Nicky Hopkins sweeping piano solo👍. Charlie Watts just left Time into eternity 8/24/21🙏✝️
gives me the chills....mick Taylor is great.......
Forever in our hearts, Mick Taylor. What a masterpiece! Always found this song poignant and here too ...
This is wonderful. Doubt you read this stuff, but just in case you do...we will always love you, Mick Taylor!
Besides his obvious gifts, the reason Taylor has endured, is his integrity.
He has stayed true to himself, and to the music. The Rolling Stones turned into aging parodies of themselves, but not Taylor. His work is as alive and vibrant today, as it was decades ago.
I have always loved this song. So very true.
The lyrics are heavy duty. Jagger/Richards song writing should never be overlooked, nor should Mick Taylor's guitar efforts during this time period. Absolutely phenomenal.
Well said.
Indeed, but Mick Taylor's songwriting got snubbed by the Glimmer Twins on this cut. He got no credit at all, which is a travesty, and one of his reasons for leaving the band. What is this song without Taylor's soaring solo?

...and please don't leave out "Moonlight Mile". Keef ain't even on that track!
Acoustic Shadow Most underappreciated song in the Stones massive repetoire. Moonlight is a masterpiece
It's my all time favorite Stones song hands down! a masterpiece!
It certainly is! And it's never been on any of their greatest hits records. I don't get it!
Mick is a god.
I cant say how much this song has and always will move me , this version, and others by mick taylor and his band. A go to for me , as always , of course with a little help from me friends.
" ... Drink in your summer, gather your corn
The dreams of the night time will vanish by dawn
And time waits for no one, and it won't wait for me....."
Absolutely powerful. Some can think. Others can write. Not many can do both.
I 'm surprised - it also works in an acoustic way - great version. Love it.
My favorite Rolling Stones song - this acoustic version is great, but I still prefer the 6+ minute electric original. Brilliant riffs, vocals and general orchestration.
Mick's versions of Winter are pretty awesome also. Especially the long live version on Too Hot For Snakes.

Mick Taylor el mejor guitarrista de los Stones
Absolutely incredible version of this powerful song! Thanks for uploading it!
Yup! The Glimmer Twins ripped Taylor off royally!
I don't understand why they should take credit of this masterpiece! Mick Taylor must have signed it out to them!
Kkkkk, Taylor processed criminally Mick and Keith, Jagger was in prision and MT shoudn't see the face of them, never more
Ronnie Wood was in the band for 18 years before he was made a “full member” of the band, so maybe they thought Toothpick should have waited quietly for a few more years before he got any ‘real’ credit, but that’s just the conclusion I came to as I listened with my head down in my living room.

At that age I was a big pothead best weed we ever had and ever will
Hauntingly beautiful. This is by far my favorite version
A great tribute to Mick Taylor. Well deserved, considering how he was and still is treated by the glimmer twins. Thumb-up!
The greatest rock and roll lyrics are composed of beautiful poetry.
stunning vocal rendition.
Nice version Thanks !!!
Beautiful! My fav RS song
It's a coooool song! Nice voice, great lyrics. Kisses my dear
This not Mick singing...this is Erwin Nyhoff, former lead-singer in the Dutch Rock band 'The Prodigal Sons' back in the 90's...Mick is just playing the lead-guitar ;-)
Just search for Erwin Nyhoff or Pr. Sons...great voice..
good singer!
+Willman Musicman Great singer ! Wonderful interpretor . Amazing , beautiful !
When you say it, makes perfect sense. Doesn't Mick T sing this song live many times also?

This is very good. Vocal & acoustic. Listen
Wunderschön!
Wow emotion n originality hit me very hard to my soul killer brothers
Most People Don't Know That Mick Was Also An Accomplished Piano Player !~~!
Of course they were already a fantastic band but just about everything really great by the Stones featured Mick Taylor. When he left ....not much.
Mick Taylor made his contributions to the Stone's legend, We must give him that, but he was not as important as a lot of people here like to think. The Stones did just as well before and after MT was gone, and it should be very evident to those that don't have their eyes and minds shut.
Mick Genius Taylor
HELL YEAH ♥️🤺
la version accoustique de mick taylor est époustouflante mais le solo de guitare sur le disque est inégalable et jagger est au sommet de son art
My absolute favourite version of this song - beautiful
I hope you are still here. My first time tonight. I feel the same way. You are right. Best Version !
Mick Taylor. The best thing that ever happened to the Stones. And they were so damned selfish they couldn't keep him. Shame on you Jagger and Richards...
Now you've got Ron Wood.
Good luck!
my new favorite song and version there of.
Een mooi sfeervol nummer 🎉
Même en acoustique, c'est bon. Quel belle chanson.
I LOVE MICK! Great arrangement!!!!!
GREAT SONG and PLAY.
This song was inspired by the stones tour in Brazil. The record version sounds like Carlos Santana , But it's the one and only Mick Taylor. A fucking Genius

Very nice!
Voice on video is great
BLOODY OUTRIGHT BRILLANT.....
AGREED !
UN DES PLUS BEAUX SOLO QUE J'AI ENTENDU DE MICK TAYLOR C'EST DANS" WINTER DE LUXE ".UNE PURE MERVEILLE
Mick is tooooo gooe
Taylor is playing a strat on this one. Sounds great!
Is this really Mick singing? Wow! Brilliant, beautiful, poignant! This song gives me goosebumps.
Slawomir Nowodworski . Not Mick but this is fabulous!
un grand monsieur de la musique avant les stones il exelait deja mais avec keith richards il a exprime toute sa virtuosite et c'est un monstre du rock
Just Listen. Very Nice
Don't know why he left the stones, he certainly has done plenty of Stones songs as a solo artist. And what a band they were in the Taylor years.
Peter Wood Mick was tired of playing the same songs and wanted to be challenged more.
omeletpants There were a few reasons that I've heard Mick Taylor say in interviews. At the time of Exile, the band was pretty dysfunctional which was frustrating, Mick Taylor found he was getting sucked into the drug life which bothered him, and he wasn't getting the song credits he felt he deserved. MT said, in an interview, he left because his drug habit was getting out of control. He later added, years later, it was that and a few song credits.
Keith has always said good things about MT and wondered why he left? I don't think Keith cared that MT took the solos. Keith was never really into being a virtuoso player. My 2 cents.
Drugs, no credit, not getting along with everyone, he thought that he had more musical potential. He took up piano when he left the stones.
greatttttttttttttttttt
Wow!
Wow!!!!
One of the Stones most beautiful songs, likely the guitar written by MT but all of the cover versions (try Widespread Panic's version) all are missing the piano of Nicky Hopkins. He and MT made the song. Also Shine a Light as well.
Totally Agree
Well done,old boy...
A+...
my goodness what lyrics
MT sober and somber.
good version
MICK TAYLOR MADE THE STONES AS THEY WERE NOT GOING ANYWHERE AND DEAD UNTIL HE JOINED THEM...SHAME ON KEITH RICHARDS FOR BEING SO JEALOUS AND SELFISH! MICK IS THE BEST GUITARIST THAT THEY EVER HAD!
sadder/ better than the ridgy didgynal! thankyou, now pass me a tissue sniff sniff..
I don't think it gets much better than Mick Taylor and the Stones.

Yeah. "omelet". Fifth grade was. Happenin too. Mimick. Mighta. Had a. 71. Riviera.....
Oh that's pretty...
whos singing?
Not Mick Taylor...??
Who's the vocalist?
is Mick singing?
The Glimmer Twins ripped Taylor off royally!
Sweet song. Stones haven't produced a decent album since Black and Blue.
not
Not acoustic. MT is playing a black Telecaster.
Acoustic? I don’t think so. There is an acoustic guitar playing the chords, but all the leads are played on an electric guitar on clean settings. Two guitars. I like it a lot, but it’s not an acoustic version of the song.

Wow, this is good. Unbearably moving.
Who’s the singer ?
