i saw this film when i was a kid and i remember this scene very well, you can truly feel the emptiness just by looking into christopher reeve's eyes, he is such a great actor.
Look at the smile forming on his face as he's dying. That's because he is on his way to meet the love of his life. Christopher Reeve's acting in this movie is the best acting I have ever seen. The only sad part about the movie is that he had to come back to the present and die. A young talented playwright who's life was taken away too soon.
Speactacular. Tears running down my face. Christopher Reeve used to workout at my gym in the 1990's. Reserved and polite, he met such a terrible demise. Amazing movie.
The dieing of pain act , I never before seen such amazing acting ,it was so real ! Thats the way I was feeling for the first three years after loosen the love of my life 20 year ago he was 37 I was36 , I never dated again , now in my 50s and waiting to be reunited AGAING in paridice , my love for him is just as strong as it was all those year ago when he called me his baby , it's so true that love hurts .
As I understand it, the composer for this film created this piece after both of his parents died in a car crash. Simply incredible. Wish we had talent like this today.
I never want to watch the full movie again because the first time I did see this I was very very upset. Then later in my life I lost someone I wanted to marry. When it couldn't happen I felt like there was no air. I've learned to live with it but that was a grief I never want to experience again. I'd rather be alone.
I am a woman but I have felt exactly like this a few times. When you give your heart to the one who you know belongs to you, but you can't be together. You feel dead, you feel like life has no meaning anymore. You feel sick, dead sick, nauseous, from the heart pain, the adrenaline. You can literally die from this. He didn't eat for a week. I didn't eat for a month. The adrenaline from the stress almost killed me. Seven years later and I just got better but I still feel head over heels if I do fall in love with someone else.
I've been there, only once, to that place I wouldn't wish on anyone. I too wound up in the hospital, for a month... and almost died. At the time doctors put it down to anorexia (new at the time) and depression for lack of any other explanation, and do to my weight loss. But I, and only I, knew the reason; my heart was broken. I was just like him, unresponsive, dazed, but inside happy because I knew those feelings were what was keeping me 'close' to her. He smiles at the end of the scene because he is close to her also; I have been in that very moment,... and that close to death, wanting it to take me...
This was a phenomenal and well-orchestrated movie, but I just couldn't take it anymore. My mother used to own the DVD, but at the advice of my sister, she threw it away. Still, this was a powerful delivery from Jane Seymour, Chris Plummer and the late Chris Reeve.
I do not understand how the screenwriters wrote such a sad and drama ending, the woman waited for a man who loved her all her life, just when the man found her
Also, it was established historically Elise became a recluse after meeting a mysterious unknown man. Richard. Her dying a recluse, her finding him and asking him to "Come back to me"... He knew he would fail.
I still do not understand why this film was not a blockbuster. Love this film

This movie is amazing Reeve was so handsome and Seymour was so beautiful! They made a wonderful and unforgettable on-screen couple😘😘
Watching this in 2019. Chris's acting in Somewhere In Time was phenomenal. This scene is heartbreaking and beautiful all in the same breath.
2020😢

We were on Mackinac Island in 79 when they were filming this classic. It's now 2024. It has been some time, but seems like yesterday.
I never quite understood why he was not able to return to her time period.
So sad
My favorite movie
He grieves to death. If my Jessica passed I would grieve to death also.

Very underrated movie.
So sad💔
This is me everyday. Dead inside.
He can just turn back time by flying around the earth.
I do not understand how the screenwriters wrote such a sad and drama ending, the woman waited for a man who loved her all her life, just when the man found her
Completely broken man 💔
Que desgarrador...
The part where he rises to the ceiling and looks down. That is his out of body experience.
OK I saw this movie three times long time ago when it came out but I don’t remember and I can’t recall why he came back to the present time
that's so sad
and it cuts off before the heaven scene, nice timing!
Flashpoint Superman ftw!
My mom died 2 weeks ago....this is how i feel. Like I'm gonna die from the pain
Weepy from middle to end and I’m not a weeper
Sad what happened to christopher reeve talented handsome man so young rip
So sad
In this film, I feel like Jane Seymour
I want to be it now
Sad
Can anyone explain why couldn't he return back to the past a second time?
He barelly did when he was well, he was very exhausted when he was back
Also, it was established historically Elise became a recluse after meeting a mysterious unknown man. Richard. Her dying a recluse, her finding him and asking him to "Come back to me"... He knew he would fail.
@@johnhudson6522 I don't understand. What is a recluse? Sorry I am not a native English speaker. Can you elaborate?
@@aurorerich someone that isolates himself. It's a bit late but i thought to responde to your question
His mind was destroyed because he lost her that way. He did not able to focus his mind enough to travel again. So sad!
ชอบมาก
It hurt.
Heartbreaking to watch him dying...
DUELE... Y DUELE MUUUCHO...
Only in romantic novels and movies do people die within a week this way.
James Cameron's Titanic movie ripped this ending off.
It’s True. I’ve heard Stories where True Lovers, one has died because of a broken heart.
!!!!!!
why is this in Russian?
