Somewhere in Time - Theatre Stage Scene [HD]

- After finding Elise Mackenna, Richard Collier attends her theatrical performance.
Here she changes script declaring her undying love for him ("The Man of My Dreams").
Cast: Cristopher Reeve (Richard Collier), Jane Seymour (Elise Mackenna) and Christopher Plummer (W.F Robinson). - Фільми й анімація
The great contrast here is how she’s totally overacting while performing the script, but then when she starts improvising, she becomes totally genuine because she’s actually speaking from the heart … it’s the first time she achieves the greatness that Robinson predicted, because she finally taps into the secret to a great performance, which is “don’t act; *be.”*
The scene I love the most in this movie is how Elise looked at Richard with deep love inside her eyes when taking a photo.
😭The most Beautiful romantic movie I have ever seen 😍
oh my gosh, every time i see this, Jane Seymour, so so so breathtakingly gorgeous.
Her words are eternal.... :)
Jane Seymour is stunning!
indeed
She most certainly was in this movie and still is! This scene is so captivating both for her acting and her breath taking beauty!
Waltz Ng Yes she is
Joyce Penelope Frankenberg is her real name. A very beautiful individual both on the inside as well as the outside.
My God! She is magnificent!
Yes she is, and in this scene particularly, absolutely breathtaking. Stunning!
Every time I watch this scene it is as though I am seeing it for the first time
One of my most favorite actresses. Phenomenally exquisite lady. Favorite Bond Girl too 💓
One of the greatest scenes in film history. The intensity is absolutely astounding.
If a woman tells that to a man, that man must be so damn lucky to be so loved by a beautiful lady.
Her words, her stunning British accent, the music and her sublime beauty brings a tear to my crocodile eye. *~;)
For you my precious wife I love you ....these words are for you from the day we leave this Earth to the memory of when we first met
The man of my dreams has almost faded now. The one I have created in my mind. The sort of man each woman dreams of, in the deepest and most secret reaches of her heart. I can almost see him now before me. What would I say to him if he were really here? "Forgive me. I have never known this feeling. I have lived without it all my life. Is it any wonder, then, I failed to recognise you? You, who brought it to me for the first time. Is there any way that I can tell you how my life has changed? Any way at all to let you know what sweetness you have given me? There is so much to say. I cannot find the words. Except for these: I love you". Such would I say to him if he were really here.
Bravo Well said
Larry A to Z thank u
The Woman of my dreams has never faded from mine. The one whom I see in my mind, One whom any man would LOVE. The one who could hold my heart. However could I answer let alone respond to her. Not recognize her..No For every day I see you within my heart and my soul...my love for you is undying.
Bravo, bravo!
You suck! You don't know love!!!!!!
I like to think that Jane Seymour was speaking from the heart in this scene
zeropoint216 Agreed
her performance speaks for herself
Well she has said that she & Christopher Reeves fell in love & dated during this movie….only to be rudely halted by news of his ex girlfriend’s pregnancy….
Yes I think so too
Chris Reeves .Such an handsome man…… i hope now his spirit flies , he was truly a Superman 💗
Indeed.
Christine.....Christopher Reeves used to go to my gym when I was in my early 20's. An impeccable gentleman. This movie has deep personal meaning since I knew him , superficially . *~:)
He was indeed a handsome man. Yes, he will always be Superman. I remember the first time I fell in love with him when I was 7 years old in 1978 when the first part of Superman came out. I've been in love ever since, and still is even though he's gone from this world. I think about him every single day, and watch all of his movies
@@Blondie35 lovely post for a great actor. A wonderful sentiment
@@thegowerboy thank you! yes he was a great actor. i miss him everyday. you know his 68th birthday is coming up this coming September? i can't believe it
Stunning performance 😢 The words of love can be overwhelming❤❤❤
I love the way she says "I cannot find the words" 😭
omg squee 😢❤️❤️
Except for these.....I LOVE you 💕

Haven’t seen this movie in a while and rewatching this scene alone just made me feel lost in the moment. Lost in her words. I totally understood what Christopher Reeves character was going through at that moment.
Again, my most loved movie. It is so sublime and beautiful. For me, it evokes memories of a long lost love, one that was destined to never come to fruition. But even after almost 40 years, this music yet evokes such over powering feelings. It is my most favorite of all films. These feelings from a combat vet of 3 years in Nam.
but it does... after he passes to her in the end
The story of slow, gradual true love with a tragic ending that brings many who have a deep understand of what love really is, yet to be seperated, with broken hearted results. A movie timeless in many ways that has surpassed that time and has came out a real true winner even by modern day standards.
I mean I have no experience of it in any form but I’m glad this movie is able to show some glimpse of it and how entrancing it can be
Beautiful words that will transcend time.
A most touching as well as inspiring scene from one of the very finest movies of all time, which conveys her very true deep emotions of love and concern.
I love this movie.. Christopher Reeves was and still is a great actor..
This is one of my favorite movies....when I first saw Jane in the scene where Christopher and her finally meet, she took my breath away.....so beautiful!!
And the reactions of the prompter in his little box are priceless!
Her words of love and the music in the background is so profound it brings tears to my eyes
my favorite scene, my favorite movie, with my favorite music........ever.
Mine too, favorite scene. The director said she was asked prior to filming if she'd ever been in love. "No," she replied. Which gives that scene extra gravitas, honesty. I heard somewhere that Jane S. was pregnant during filming. Ouch!
My favorite comment ♥️
I love how they suddenly become pin drop silent as she goes rogue from the script. My heart sank along with them.
Love that pretty dress
Her beauty is timeless. She could play the role today.
A lovely scene from a lovely film.
So moving , I can feel exactly what she feeling & sensing . 😢❤️
It's another wonderful scene from this ever romantic movie including lovely Performance by Jan Seymour. She acted brilliantly in this particular scene speaking between the lines during the original script to give a beautiful and memorable message to her Love 💞🌼 💠💒
Jane truly is stunning. The great acting from Jane and Chris are unparalleled. Through the whole movie. And then there's the soundtrack. This movie brought tears. Every time. I wish we could all of us, go back. It's just sad, that we can't.
The true star of this movie was John Barry, the film's composer. Heart breaking
They were perfect together I love them both the best
I never saw the movie, I wish I could find it so i could watch it. I love love songs and ❤️ stories!
I wondered when I was in cinema to watch this good movie, many HK people especailly lovers....they could speak out each coming scene....I think they really really attracted in this Beautiful LOVE Movie.....they must have had watched this Sweet Movie over hundred of times~ good!!!!!! Christopher Reeve & Jane Seymour.....great movie forever!!!!
I had just started high school when I caught this movie on cable TV back in the early '80s. I think this is the moment I fell in love with Jane Seymour.
AND SHE TOOK A STANCE IN A FIRM POSTURE SAYING HER FIRST LOVE IS THE RIGHT ONE.
SO DID I.
What a scene...
Brought a lump to my throat.
...what a fabulous movie!!...I wish they were stayed in 1912 Much longer!!...and the music of that movie!!... incredible!!...it was a majestic movie!!...one of the best!!...I Will always reminder that movie!!...Pots xo...♥️👍
This movie😭❤️💔..... It's the most emotional movie I've seen, different than others such as Titanic or other big dramas which I've cried tremendously about... The music, it's the music and the loss at the end😭💔 it's beyond heartbreaking. I've watched it 3 times and i just can't again. I cried for so long after each time😢 more than any other movie. And yes, of course the actors are wonderful also. Two of my all time favorites❤️
THIS IS the perfect storm OF that moment in life that if your VERY LUCKY MAY COME AND EVEN GO IN ONE NIGHT. Everything was aligned perfectly , and then it's gone.
This movie has a such cult following that every year people visit the hotel it was filmed in.
I want to eventually visit there.
I did in 2007 I am glad I did. the movie was special to me and my wife.
I wanted to visit but its $1,000 a night
Cupcake Princess....you can get into the hotel and have a drink there... long time ago entrance was $20.00. I was glad I paid it. I was staying on the mainland. I walked around the porch where Christopher Reeves slept in the movie and the staircase where he and Jane Seymour are reunited...it was beautiful and magical to be there...the view from the hotel is stunning...
The Grand Hotel.
A magnificent soliloquy spoken superbly by the gloriously beautiful Jane Seymour.
best speech and good love sci-fi love story
justin fleming ❤️😢❤️
@@larrycalloway1724 movie was 40 yesterday
I am in love with her!!!
Inolvidable momento. Cómo cada uno del film! En nuestro❤
THERE MUST BE SOMETHING YOU LIKE ABOUT HIM. yes his abscence lol.
Wow! This speech rivals Shakespeare..The guy who wrote it is sitting behind Chris Reeve in the audience. The portrait? It rivals The Mona Lisa. This movie....is one of the greatest; every scene pivital, nothing boring or trite. Let's see, to make it work you need, uh, one of the most beautiful and charismatic women to ever walk the earth& her opposite male number. The music, incredible, especially when Rachmaninov kicks in. The time travel- perfect. The hotel-fantastic. The principles loved doing it, their chemistry is insane. " Somewhere in Time" is a masterpiece that will live forever.. Thank you Jane S. Chris R. rip C. Plummer J Berry J Szwark R Matheson..Six geniuses in a row.
Perfect. Você falou tudo.
Love is stronger than anything else, this scene reminds us of that.
The look on the maids face when she continues to go off script!
I think they did love each other in real life and that's why this movie is a gem.
If he will really here,I will say to him that I love 💕 him with all my soul ...😍😍
Heartbroken and relieved. One of my favorites. I wish I could go back to Jennifer.
This film will always remain in my mind, ALWAYS ever so present.
The best scene!
Esa escena en el teatro me emociona siempre que la veo. Saludos cordiales desde la preciosa Ciudad de México
La clase de hombre con el que toda chica sueña en lo más recóndito de su corazón
I lived the film. Was wonderful!
great actres beautiful woman.
Cesar Octavio yes..Jane Seymour is indeed a beautiful woman. But is she an Asiatic & European mixture does anybody know.?
No Asian admixture; she is a Polish Jew from her father and a Dutch Protestant from her mother, though is English-born.
My favorite part it made cry for the one I lost in my lifetime IF ONLY
I AM CHILDLIKE IN EMOTION BEING WITHOUT LOVE AND LIFE FOR 33 1/2 YEARS.
You have life. Give love, whether or not it's reciprocated. You'll only become more bitter. God loves you. Seek Christ as the lover of your soul. He died for sinners like you and me.
AWESOMELY BEAUTIFUL
Great masterpiece of a 🎥!👈👏👍💐
I love this movie. It was filmed on Mackinac Island. I went there on my honeymoon long before this movie was made. It captures tbe beauty and essence of the island.
How can any scene ever portray love better?
I’m still waiting for the man of my dreams to finally fade. Until then, I’ll keep dreaming of him
If I had the divine opportunity, to apologize for the pain I caused us, to my boyfriend who I've loved all my life and lost last September to cancer....this would be exactly how I feel. I love you Bud McCrory, thru all eternity 😔
💓💓💓💓💓💓 Beautiful couple!
Superb.
Beautiful

So much"elegance" in this speech 🔥
OH Glory!
I cry everytime I watch this spectacular cult classic... Don't hate 😁
No hating here, my friend. I'm in my late 40s now and only ever cried at 3 movies in my life - Schindler's List, The Elephant Man (at the end) and this one. 👍
@@jrb1802uk I'll be 50 11/14.. Cheers to us gen x ers

Perfeito e triste. Amo esse filme, amo Christopher Plummer. Saudades.
He is visible only to the eyes of his beloved........😁
I named my 1st daughter after her . This movie has played a probably unhealthy role in my life
wow
💙
Pay attention to the other actress on stage. Watch her eyes.
GOSTARIA DE VER ESSE LINDO TEXTO DELA COM ESSE AMOR, PARA ESSE HOMEM NA PLATEIA.
Why was this movie not a hit in 1980?
Various circumstances got in the way ...you can read about it all...very sad. Wish they would bring it back because it never got the recognition it truly deserved !!!
