He faced tragedy with courage and dignity. He was a super man.
The best Superman hands down.
AMEN
Yes! No doubt about it. I grew up with his Superman movies.
Look at him so handsome, tall, and healthy. What a terrible loss.
First crush ever. Just adored him!
@@uva3088snap! 😊
Mr. Reeves is tall as heck here. Miss him dearly and his close pal Robin Williams as well. Seems a nice and gentle soul.
Christopher Reeves' greatest role in my opinion has to be when he played Richard Collier in "Somewhere in Time".
110% Agreed.... It was the greatest performance I've ever seen from Reeves! Fully Believable despite the fantasy element.
Jane Seymour & Chris Reeve should’ve been together in real life
@eloisapetermann6810 totally agreeing with you.
The chemistry between them is unmatched in movies between 2 people.
My opinion, of course.
His first movie after "Superman" was "Deathtrap", with Michael Caine, where he turned out to be the married Caine's secret gay lover. There was a very audible groan in the theater when Chris and Michael passionately kissed. The audience just wasn't ready for it at all (not Superman!)...
@igorschmidlapp6987 I didn't need to know that..
Appreciate that..
He was as he appeared in real life. Very likeable and approachable. If Make A Wish was popular back then, you know that he would have gotten a lot of requests
He actually did visit children’s hospitals dressed as Superman
Christopher Reeves, such a classy and humble and good looking guy. So sad what happened to him after his accident. Still was very classy and humble after that too. I agree he was the best Superman!!
Christopher Reeve made Superman my lifelong hero. May he rest in peace he was an incredible human being.
And we didn't know times like this would become the good Ole Days.
I didn't know the '90s would become the good ole days
@rosesingh339
Right? Imagine how things will be when 2020's will be the good Ole Days. Hmm
A very humble man
The world is less without him.
What an epic chad. Christopher Reeve will always be my favourite Superman.
Christopher Reeve is the one true Superman. Despite his paralysis he still found a way to keep living and inspiring others.
What happened? Look how classy, intelligent, and respectful they all are too each other compared to what people are today? Life without social media and iPhones.
Dave Letterman and Howard Stern changed that just a few years later. 🤣
Ok boomer
So true
Oh my God Christopher Reeve is so gorgeous!
I miss him. I miss them Both. Hell I missed the show
So do I.
I miss the late nights with him and Doc Severensen playing his heart out.
Wow. Mr. Reeve was already talkin bout “Superman 2” and had the plot developed. Geez. They knew they had a hit. I also liked how Mr. Reeve gave Rodney Dangerfield props on his act.
Because much of Superman 2 was shot simultaneously with Superman 1.
@leafyutube I 4got bout that. You're right.
@@leafyutube The good stuff was. Then the Salkinds fired Richard Donner, and brought in Richard Lester and Pierre Spengler to screw it up.
Watch The Richard Donner Cut of Superman 2...
@@igorschmidlapp6987 Pierre Spengler was also producer of the first Superman.
What a super man.
Christopher Reeves
Superman meets Rodney Dangerfield
@@MartySlabeyReeve
He was a good man and you know what he will always is be my Superman.
He was a good soul. God bless him. 😎
We've got Superman on the best talk show ever. Can't beat that.
“I gotta sell something here” Johnny was great with the little quips like that
Johnny Carson 💯 Class Act.
Oh Christopher. How we miss you. You were so handsome. Sexy. Gorgeous. The one and only Superman.
I'm sorry you left us so soon....A great Superman....
He was beautiful.
What a guest lineup, not only Chris, but Rodney Dangerfield and Susan Sarandon.
He was the perfect choice.
He set the standard!
Bummer that his discussion about getting his bike stolen wasn't here.((
I miss him. Somewhere in time is one of my favorite movies 😊
Christopher Reeve was the EPITOME of superman
I Listen to this and I See Class.
🤝👏👏👏
Kinda weird watching this and knowing all three died 25yrs later in less than 3 months apart, with Dangerfield and reeves it was a mere 5 days apart.
Incredible how they trained him to fly.
My baby!!!! ❤ 😢 How I miss him.
he was incredible. George Reeves also incredible
back when Hollywood was classy
And Steve Lawrence in that clip as well!. He passed away this week. 5 greats...all gone now: Johnny, Christopher, Rodney, Steve, and Ed McM.
"He's got brown underwear too." 🤣🤣 I think everyone missed that!
Christopher Reeves was an exceptional human being. Inside and out and all around. It's nice to see him on Johnny Carson.
He was (IS) The Only Superman for my childhood, both on screen and off.
Legendary stick man.
I took him for granted while he was alive. Now, looking back, I see how awesome he was in every way. ❤🎉
Thank you for posting this interview!
Best of times in America ❤
GOD BLESS HIS SOUL 😊⭐️👍⚡️😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
aww he's so nervous, its sweet
RIP
Christopher Reeve
(1952-2004)
So handsome,🩷🧡🩵💛💙💜💚❤️
Look at that the guest list that night. But that was typical of his nightly show
Superman and...Christopher Reeve on his left hand side. 😁
"Superman is a friend when you need one."
Christopher Reeve.
If Christopher could only see the technology today....
I get misty eyed when watching this, not only because in my opinion Mr Reeves was the best Superman but because he was a decent, gentle human being with so much integrity and dedication.
And of course Johnny was the very best host, oh, how I miss those days. 🇺🇸
@@JohnnyCarson-..May I get a hold of that wonderful stuff you’re smoking please?
A class act…
This is how much time has passed since 1978: Every single person in this entire segment is dead now! My God, am I REALLY this old?!
Is it possible to post the whole show? Love Steve Lawrence. Wish more would of Steve and Eydie would be possible. Johnny loved Steve and Eydie. We lost Steve and one was posted. Just love it. Christopher Reeves' son Will Reeve is a reporter on ABC looks just like him.
Carson was the best host of the tonight show, sad to see where the show is now with the current host.
The show was dead the day they gave it to Leno instead of Letterman.
I Love Superman III when Richard Pryor says “Thank the Lord for Superman”
In Memory of Christopher Reeve 🌻
Just like Johnny was THE late night host of the day, Reeve was THE Superman of the day. Each had only a couple noteworthy predecessors in their roles. Now, how many people have hosted late night shows, how many people have played Superman? There's addition but there's no succession.
FLY ME TO THE MOON….
Big fan of superman love from 🇵🇰 Pakistan
RIP Christopher Reeves.
❤❤❤
👌👌👌
Anyone else wonders what was the music at the start ? Loved Doc’s band.
Christopher Reeve, Rodney Dangerfield, Steve Lawrence, and Susan Sarandon in the same show. Man, they don't make them like this anymore!
Can you please post the whole show? I know Steve Lawrence and Rodney Dangerfield were on the show. Would appreciate it or any others. Steve and Eydie were frequent guests.
❤❤❤❤❤❤😮
🙏🙏🙏🙏😭😭😭😭😭😭😭🙏🙏🙏🙏
👍
The real one and only Superman, on screen but most importantly, off screen.
So where is the segment with Rodney? 🙂
..he and Robin Williams were at Julliard at the same time.
What year was this?
How ironic about Christopher Reeve. He plays superman, and then has a terrible equestrian accident that breaks his neck. 😔
But then he performed wonderfully in the "Rear Window" remake.
@@JohnnyCarson-.. Keep it.
@@joebiggs4387 lol what are these bots here for really?
@@jeshkam Scams. Nothing good anyway. lol
He directed that remake too ♥️
Reeves and dangerfield died 5 days apart, weird 🤔
Hmm 🤔. Didn’t know that.
20 years ago now. And Marlon Brando too. I heard there is a doc coming out this year on Chris’ recovery after the accident
Rodney was the first guest!
I think Steve Lawrence was.
@@seattlewa8500Oh right. I didn’t know who that was.
Looks like Reeve and I both made the mistake of forgetting him.
Funny, but Adam West said the same thing about 'no pockets' while playing Batman.
Christopher Reeve Portrayed Superman in the movies,Helen Slater Portrayed Supergirl from 1984 Movie Spin-off Before Melendy Britt Voiced She-Ra in the Secret of the Sword (1985) Terri Hawkes and Stephanie Sheh Voiced Sailor Moon in the anime movies until Brandon Routh return as Superman in Superman Returns (2006) with Red Boots,Blonde Hair and Red Cape
I can tell by his body langue he's kind of nervous.
Ironically, Christopher Reeve, with the exception of Superman and a couple other movies; Reeve probably played more villains in his career than heroes. (Or certainly as many notable villains; villains or very dark, sullied heroes)... He played villains on Love of Life; Bump in The Night; Street Smart; Deathtrap; Superman 3, (he played both the hero and the villain in that one); The Practice; Monsignor; as well as other TV shows and movies. Interestingly; the same can be said for Mark Hamill; who often gets stuck with villain roles when he's not playing heroic Luke Skywalker; Batman the Animated series playing The Joker; One Day at a Time playing Schneider's evil nephew; the latest incarnation of the Childsplay/Chucky series playing Chucky; etc...
27 yrs old.
$4.50 lol
Humble seemed nervous
What's crazy about this vid is that Christopher Reeve died just five days after Rodney Dangerfield.
Bring back enjoyment in 2023-24 instead of George Orwell
Is it me or was parts of this just awkward/cringe?
Incredibly, everyone on this show is dead.
He is soooo overrated
He was such a nice guy. I never heard one thing negative about him. His accident was tragic. The world lost him too early.
