I say “Puh-CON”. I can’t believe how beautiful Idaho is! Honestly, I had no idea! I recently stopped over in Boise for 1 night on a drive to the coast and I loved it- amazing flours and gorgeous gardens EVERYWHERE! but I think your town is even more beautiful 💕

My grandma is very southern and insisted my whole life that “a ‘pee-can’ is something they put beside your bed when you can’t take care of your own business!” Lol 😂 That stuck with me 🤷🏼♀️🤣 Our family has always pronounced it without the first e - kind of like “P’cahn” if that makes sense? (And we’ve never done the long A… so it rhymes with ON) Your way seems to be a hybrid of the two hahaha I like it 😂

I didnt like our electric range either 😩. I feel like i easily burned food and could never figure it out. I got fed up that i changed it out to a gas burner.
Dudeeee hopefully I’m not that far behind you! I’m over the electric range…. We just need to save up and make it happen 😭
@@NikkiPhillippi we had to save up for it too but it was well worth it. We had a plumber come out for that. We are remodeling my kitchen right now and i had to buy a little electric burner temporarily and I was reminded how much i hate cooking on an electric burner. I could never get the temp right.

Sweet potato pie!
Dude a couple people have recommended that and I’ve never tried it before! I think it needs to happen lol
@@NikkiPhillippi * 1 ½ pound of sweet potatoes, washed and scrubbed (equals about 3 cups when softened and peeled)
* 12 oz. (Half milk, half cream)
* 1 cup of light brown sugar (I use coconut sugar)
* 2 large eggs
* 5 tablespoons of unsalted butter, melted (or vegan butter)
* 2 tablespoons of vanilla extract
* 1 teaspoon of ginger, minced
* 1 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
* ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon
* ½ teaspoon of ground cloves
* ¼ teaspoon of salt
Pie Crust (uncooked) either premade or homemade.
Instructions:
Boil sweet potatoes - let cool before peeling
Add them into a blender with other ingredients
Pour into pie
Bake the sweet potato pie at 350 degrees F: in a conventional oven for 28-30 minutes
Do you ever blind bake your crust? I’ve only made pie one time but I feel like it had said to blind bake first. But wasn’t sure if I could get away with not doing that lol
You know… I don’t even know what “blind baking” is?! I’ve never heard that term! I’m a fake baker!
@@NikkiPhillippi haha I watch waaay too much Great British Baking Show lol. It’s when you stick the pie crust into the oven with baking beads in the center of them for a few minutes first before you add the filling. It helps the crust to get fully baked through without the filing making it soggy

SWEET POTATO PIE!!! Not pumpkin pie, SWEET POTATO PIE! My mom (now 63 yo) has a recipe she got from an 80ish year old lady at her country church when she was in her 20’s. I’ve been enjoying this pie every fall/winter season for my entire life. I will go to instagram and share the recipe in a DM!
