Truly one of the best if not the best perf jacket. Beautiful, even my ancient old-school rider dad was appreciative of this. Love it, and hope to pass it down to my son in the future.
Which one does which one does HVB, Spurgeon, Drewzilla, and/or Anthony like more overall? This Brea or it's direct competitor, the Vintage Flatbush Air by Rev'it? and why exactly?
That's a hard one, as both jackets are so evenly matched. I like both but for different reasons. The Flatbush Air Vintage has REV'IT!'s CE Level 2 Seeflex armor at the shoulders and elbows, but the jacket doesn't have much give or stretch to it. It will stretch a little bit as it breaks in though. The Brera Airflow uses Alpinestars' CE Level 1 Bio Armor, which is thin and comfortable but slightly less impact-resistant compared to REV'IT!'s Seeflex. However, the Brera has elbow, shoulder, and waist gussets that allow for more freedom of movement compared to the Flatbush. Both jackets have pockets for optional CE Level 2 back protectors (Nucleon for Alpinestars and Seesoft for REV'IT!). So, for protection, REV'IT! wins, but for fit, Alpinestars wins. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-brera-airflow-jacket *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/revit-flatbush-air-vintage-jacket *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-nucleon-back-protector-insert *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/revit-seesoft-back-protector-insert
This jacket is sold out in everything up to size 58 EU. Please ask Alpine Stars to reproduce it. In S-M-L sizes! And maybe a little bigger sleeves, from what I have read online.
Looks great, though I'd personally like to see a couple subtle reflective stripes. Yeah I know, it's classic/vintage, but that's a big plus for me. Still, sweet jacket!
Having a tough time deciding between this and the Dainese Archivio Ace jacket. The Brera looks great on hi viz bri, but every other picture Iv seen on the internet makes it look strange.
+Jamie Roland I think its because It looks kinda like a really dark brown here and in other pics you can really tell its black. If only that lighting came with the jacket!
How this jacket compares to Dainese Razon in terms of leather thickness and protection? Never had Alpinestars jackets, only Dainese and i felt very protected with them.
The Razon uses 1.2mm leather, while the Brera is 1.0mm leather. 1.0mm is still a good thickness for protection, and the Brera's armor is also good CE-rated armor. I love the Razon too, and I would feel well-protected in the Brera. -DrewZilla

any dude from Revzilla, Dainese Mike or Astar Brera that can be used as an everyday jacket when the armour is removed? are they good looking enough to be used off the bike i.e. during lecture with the armours inside it?
+Driver Magz The armor is very low-profile, so you could easily wear it casually with the armor. For a slightly more relaxed fit, though, you can remove the armor. That being said, I wouldn't ride in it without the armor, and I wouldn't size up for a looser fit. It's important to have a snug fit to keep the armor in place. -DrewZilla
+TM23 Yes, the Brera has good all-around protection while also being stylish. The full-grain leather offers great abrasion resistance, and the CE-rated Bio Armor provides excellent impact protection. We do recommend getting a Nucleon Back Protector Insert, as the jacket does not include a back protector. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-nucleon-back-protector-insert *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-brera-leather-jacket
Hey guys, I am considering picking one of these up. I'm 6 foot. 39 inch chest, 160. (Started going to the gym so with time will only get a little bigger) I am considering getting the back protector too. Do you think I should get the 48 or the 50?
You can try the REV'IT! Seesmart armor that's thin and flexible. You can also trim it to fit if necessary. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/revit-seesmart-shoulderelbowknee-protectors-rv31
The lighting needs to be adjusted in these videos. Don't see that jacket being black.I see more of dark green; someone mentioned being a little brown. Otherwise it looks like a nice jacket; too bad I already own a Razon.
Can you guys recommend for Breara Airflow a back protection that is not bulky, and maybe a better replacement for the shoulder and elbow one? “REV'IT! Seesmart Shoulder/Elbow/Knee Protectors RV31” would be a step down from protection point of view? Also, wich one has more style, Brera Airflow or Mike? I got the Alpinestars, because I want more air ventilation for the hot days Thank you
The best back protector that's light and isn't bulky is the Nucleon. As for shoulder and elbow armor, you cannot replace the Alpinestars armor with other armor. Seesmart has a different shape, so it won't fit. The Alpinestars armor is already low-profile. As for style, that's subjective. The Brera has a slightly matte finish, while the Mike is a bit shinier. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-brera-airflow-jacket *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-nucleon-back-protector-insert
Nothing is slimmer and lighter than the KR-2i while still being CE Level 2. It's half the weight of D3O and 50% lighter than the KR-1i. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-nucleon-back-protector-insert
Not necessarily. Both offer similar style and protection, so it really comes down to personal preference. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/revit-stewart-air-jacket *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-brera-airflow-jacket *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-brera-leather-jacket
Exposure to water doesn't necessarily hurt leather, but not maintaining the leather will cause it to degrade faster. Point being, I recommend cleaning and conditioning the jacket regularly, regardless of exposure to rain. Some riders will apply a beeswax based conditioner to the leather to aid in its water resistant properties. I use Obenauf's myself, though it is not a product we carry here at RevZilla. -TeamZilla Chris
RevZilla thanks for the response. I have a few leather jackets that I love and don't wear in the rain, but looking to get a cold weather jacket that I can expose to the elements in Philly. I'd hate to spend $500 on a jacket and destroy it in a rainstorm
For really hot summers, mesh textile is better than leather, as it ventilates better. If you do want full leather, the Akira Air and Brera Airflow both offer similar ventilation. For even better ventilation, look at the following mesh/leather hybrid jackets from REV'IT! and Dainese. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/revit-blake-air-jacket *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/dainese-super-rider-d-dry-jacket *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/dainese-mig-jacket
I hate it when you guys say that. It's not true. Mesh jackets in really hot weather are too hot. It's like standing in front of god's blow dryer. Mesh jackets only really work in a relatively narrow temp range, not too hot, not too cold. When it's truly hot, a non-perf leather jacket is actually cooler. More so if it isn't black, of course. Wearing a mesh Rev'it jacket when I lived in Texas, I would get nauseous and overheated. With a solid leather jacket, I was warm, but it was much more tolerable than getting blasted with the hot air.
Colin Leipelt Air blowing over you does cool you until temperatures get close to body temperature. Then the air heats you up, and it is time to hit the air conditioning.
This jacket has been discontinued, but we do still have some select sizes available: www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-brera-airflow-jacket -Zack
Hey guys I'm from Texas where the heat can really kick. The jacket looks A-MAZING however do you think the perforated version will do me good or is there another one worth looking at? Thanks
It really depends on your own temperature tolerance, but a perforated leather jacket should be ok up to about 90F or so (perhaps higher if low humidity). For hotter weather, mesh textile provides the most ventilation. -DrewZilla
+addario They really are nice, and they're very evenly matched. The main difference is that the REV'IT! Flatbush Air Vintage has a bit better armor. -DrewZilla
+doubledoubleandfries Better armour, I already have a spare rev'it back insert and in the uk its cheaper than the brera. Going to try it on and if I don't like it I can always send it back.
@@RevZilla Thank you for the answer! Is there a way to connect to jacket to track pants like the Alpinestars Missile V2 through a bent or something like that?
The way this jacket is shown in this vid is really misleading. I went into the shop to try this on and it must be the shiniest jacket I've ever seen, makes it look extremely cheap, but in this vid, it has a really nice matte looking finish.
i wear the same size as this model and order what he rocks usually but noway i'm fitting in the 50 . HVB has a slightly smaller waist than I do so that would limit me on this one but to be honest HVB looks like that jacket is not fitting him and he is holding his breath. hahahahahah

Is it just the camera/lighting, or is the black a "tad Brown"? I like it a lot, but would like it a tad more black if it is not.
+08650rRider It's the lighting and the fact that the finish has more of a vintage patina to it. -DrewZilla
