    I normally stick with MotoDry, i think they do some awesomely "cheaper" gloves with that middle of the ground build and protection and they have a glove for all needs, be it wet, cold or hot. Think i have a pair of Motodry Sprint gloves i tend to use almost all year round other then in the rain, doesn't get overly cold so i save money on having summer gloves all year.

    1) Always enjoy your reviews. Please keep 'em coming :)
    2) OMG, for the love of god - having the hardest time finding "the perfect" glove.. i.e. a water-retardant, gel-palmed for anti-vibration, no goofy knuckle-protectors, light-weight, and most-importantly; full gauntlet with velcro strap. I want that full gauntlet to seal out wind over/between glove and jacket cuff, but at the same time overall light weight as I don't need fully insulated [snowmobile-type] gloves for the Spring and Fall riding. This daydream Goldilocks glove continues to elude me..

    Gloves are A sore point for me. Sorry I’ve been riding bikes since the early 80s and none of the stuff is new, there are new names for the materials but they had gloves exactly like this with metal and ceramics and nylon slides and padding and everything else and honestly I think most of this is marketing. I think you’re right, buy the generic version because let’s be honest, almost all of these top brown companies have farmed all this crap out to China and they’re selling their name not some super quality magic glove. I’m looking for new gloves now but only because the ones I bought are 30 years old and starting to crack in the leather is breaking down but there’s very little difference other than marketing. A good leather glove and good padding and something to slide on that’s not gonna wear down quickly or what’s really important. If they can make it breathe really well that’s awesome too. I think you’re dead right on this one come I 35 or 50 bucks and you have a glove that’s gonna work for 99% of the people out there. Yeah if you go on 150 and sliding on a track you might want to spend a little more but almost none of their customers are doing that. Lol. I wish they would concentrate more on quality because I read reviews on a lot of these very expensive gloves I see a lot of people complaining that they’re falling apart and it’s not a big deal if you buy a pair of gloves for 20 bucks and have to replace it after a few months but people are paying $150 you’d expect it to last a while. I think that evo50 is a great choice, realistically outside of the motorcycle world is still way overpriced but it’s got all the basics it’s got good protection and they thought about what it was going to be used for and built it correctly, it’s comfortable and if it’s well-built, I don’t see a reason to have something a whole lot better in reality. If you want to spend 500 bucks on something with some sort of rare titanium ceramic coated blah blah blah, then that’s awesome but realistically this is going to be more gloves than most people will ever need and I’m guessing they sell a whole lot more of them? 🤔

    I need 2XL because my hands are on par with ML Carr and I have long boney fingers like Jack Skellington.
    I've tried XL but my thumb and index suffer the pressure like a nerd in a high school locker.
    Plus!
    I ride "sniper" style with index finger resting on the clutch lever and brake lever at all time.
    Remember, 2XL hands, I can pull my front brakes with one finger in case of (has happened) emergency.
    This also causes premature wear on index finger pad.

    Does anybody know where to buy the icon anthem blender gloves for people in Europe (netherlands)?

    Five Stunt Evo 2 has replaced most of the palm with a more durable sealed leather instead of the goat that tended to fall apart.

    Hi Ryan, I bought a pair of Spanish Garibaldi Defence pro in the L size (10). 8 of my fingers fit perfectly, but my thumbs feel cramped in the gloves and if I extend my thimbs to press the horn, I feel my thumb digging into the edge stitching. Should I go one size up (where there is about 2mm gap between 8 of my fingers while holding on the grips but no gap on the thumbs) or stick with the 10 size? The gloves are a hybrid textile/cow leather spring/summer/fall type (somewhere between a full gauntlet and short wrist)

    hi ryan, could you help me distinguish between Z1R 270 and the Z1R 270perforated one? with respect to weather conditions. I mean, at what temperatures would you choose either one?

      For myself, I'd take the Z1R 270 Perforated above 20C, and the non-perforated below that. ~RyanF9

    Another suggestion for motorcycle gloves would be to use mechanics gloves.

    What glove do you recommend the fox bomber S or the Klim Mojave pro for summer riding no winters?

    • @FortNine
      @FortNine  7 років тому

      Hard to say. The Bomber S offers much better value, but the Mojave *is* more ventilated. ~RyanF9

    Have you done best jackets under $50 and best jeans under $50 (didn't bother saying motorbike with them as all you do is motorbike stuff)

    Don't you guys have access up there to brands like Modeka, just wondering ...

    I was wondering since you live in my area. The new 2017 ninja 1000 looks like it will have an optional heated grip. Do you think it is needed? Or a nice to have option, or would good gloves do the job until, well it's too cold for the rest of my body or forced to have winter tires?

    • @FortNine
      @FortNine  8 років тому +4

      Personally, I don't think heated grips are worthwhile. You can get a great pair of winter riding gloves for the price of the heated grip upgrade, and those will keep the *back* of your hands warm too. ~RyanF9

    i was wondering, can mountain biking gloves be good enough for motorcycle or not?

    • @FortNine
      @FortNine  7 років тому +2

      Really depends how safe you want to be. But I will say that there are a lot of "motorcycle" gloves out there with less leather and armour than some biking gloves I've seen. ~RF9
