Despite being the cheapest, that first jacket is sick! I love simple perforated leather and it looks like it fits well and isn't bulky.

I just got the light weight steet and steel perforated jacket its nice but has a few drawbacks i think, still need to break it in a little more
Good video for sure. I wish Alpinestars would make more colors for their jackets. I’m about to buy the GP Plus R v2 airflow, but have to go with black since red or yellow don’t match my bike.

The Brera is the bomb. It is so nice I almost hate to wear mine on the bike.
Vanson's Pro Perf is the only perforated jacket I've ever found to make a noticeable difference while riding in warm weather.
I'd like to see a video about the best budget leather jackets from amazon etc. Some of these reviews about the "best jackets" are simply out of most people's price bracket

I had a look on your website and it appears the Dainese has been discontinued. What would you recommend for someone looking for a leather jacket to be worn for 3 seasons when commuting (spring, summer, autumn)? Ideally after something that has the zips for ventilation, or a zip in rain proof liner to reduce wind/rain.
Could you please suggest which one to choose and why
1. Likes of Revit Dominators GTX - big dollars
2. Jackets such as Hit-Air or Helite with integrated safety airbag
3. Mid range 200-400$ range coupled with separate airbag vests
Also a basic question, while riders these days are opting for big dollar jackets yet I don't see much interest in airbag jackets? Were airbag jackets a fad that died down already?
My jacket was old real old it had zipper down at both wrists and a heavy zipper down the front that went up to the strap with a snap across my neck two zipper pockets one on each chest at an angle like two slits each with a small pull chain the jacket was longer then most below belt line . the back of shoulders were not vented but pleated for added shoulder room I brought it to have the purple satin liner replaced and I guess somebody wanted my jacket more than me .. Anyone have any idea's It was Heine Gericke but I haven't been able to find that model .. HELP ///

what does it mean when He says, "No armor". I have heard the term a few times when watching some videos about motorcycle jackets, Not sure what it means exactly, I have a few ideas but Im not sure.
Number 1 issue for leather jacket fitment is the length of the torso. Leather is stiff, if the length is too long it will ride up on you when you sit on the bike. If too short, your lower back gets exposed, bad in a crash. Try before you buy.
Apologies if you have already done a video on it, but could you do a jacket video dedicated for the big BIG fellows?? I’d really appreciate that.

Hi Revzilla, im looking for a leather jacket, I love the look of the Merlin Trance jacket but can't find any reviews, it looks like it doesn't offer to much abrasion resistance like the leather is very thin compared to the dianese or brera on this video, would appreciate your input on the Merlin Trance I love the style but concerned it doesn't offer enough protection in a slide
The Trance does have a slightly lighter leather than the Brera and like-jackets, but not by much. It's only +/- .1mm difference and won't make or break a crash at the end of the day too much. Most casual styled leather jackets are a bit lighter in the leather thickness because its meant to be comfortable/casual as well as moto-protective like the sport-bike alternatives. I think the Trance would be a great option to go with and the reason there is no review is because they jacket is new and has not arrived in stock just yet. Hows the REV'IT! Ignition 3 compare to the Dainese Corbin D-Dry? Any reason why the Ignition 3 didn't make the list as its got level 2 armour and is slightly cheaper?
Even though it has Level 2 armor, the Ignition 3 only comes with a thermal vest liner, not a full sleeve thermal liner. The Corbin is a bit more versatile in that respect. However, if you have your own mid-layer and want Level 2 armor, then I'd go with the Ignition 3. -DrewZilla

Is motor leather jacket usually equipped with foam on the shoulder?
Most leathers will come with armor at the shoulder and elbow, and a pocket for a back protector as well.

The Dainese Racing 3 Jacket is a direct replacement for the D1. Improvements include a more streamlined shoulder slider which is designed to slide more smoothly on the ground, should it need to do so, and a redesigned, more comfortable collar that no longer includes snaps. -DM
Thoughts on Ducati Downtown leather jacket? Currently going for $400 from Ducati site.

Thanks for the feedback!!! Been looking for months for a leather jacket and loved the styling of the Downtown. Only drawback is the lack of ventilation. But, major pro is it comes with shoulder and elbow protection.

I'm 5´8" but my body reminds more about the guy in purple. I guess I should have L/XL. Probably XL. Tobad the sleeves will probably be to long.
With increasing amounts of stretch material in the shoulders and arms, you can still consider size L. -DrewZilla

Your size will vary brand to brand, likely around XL or 2XL. Each brand can have it's own size chart though, so it just depends. When you see a jacket you like, check out the chart on the product page and see where you fall. -Kraus-e

You are right, it is a Celer (v1) ... so it's a former model.
How come they dont make white jackets anymore ? You can find as much black as you want, with small accent of red/white, but appart from the Dainese Mugello suit no-one make white leather :/
Hadrien Croubois Probably the customers shifted towards black jackets, so the companies decided to follow the trend and stopped making white jackets.
There are already a million black jackets. Do they really need more "black" variety at the detriment of other colors ...

It depends on the jacket. Most motorcycle gear is around for more than just one year. If it's on 'closeout', then it's likely being discontinued. If it's just out of stock but not closeout, it will likely be restocked once more is produced. But to answer the initial question, we do update these videos periodically. -DrewZilla

Just a suggestion, but on these types of videos you should keep the name of the product you are currently talking about in the corner or something the whole time you are talking about it. That way we don't have to rewind to find the name if a particular product if it catches our eye in the middle of the review.

Brera vs Ronin? Any thoughts...?
I own the Ronin. Leather quality is good, style is beautiful but liner is thin, cheap and already ripping after only one year of mild use. Made in India. I think you can get a much better jacket for the price of a Ronin. I don't know much about Brera.

The video about the jackets is a load of crap first jacket I ever had was the first turbine leather jacket laid my bike down cuz I got rear-ended slid across the pavement about 20 25 feet the back of the jacket ripped open and my back got cut pretty bad. Now I have a Bilt Alder leather jacket and it fits and looks wonderful. And yes I have laid my bike down with this jacket due to another idiot four-wheeler sled about 15 feet still wearing the same jacket today
