I had one of these , b16a2 engine , chipped p30 or p1 integra ecu cant remember the code but it came with 6 chips which set redline and vtec at diffrent points. I had it set up for vtec to kick in at 4500rpm and redline set at 10,000rpm. It went like stink lol. Great little cars.

Mine was rusting under the wheel wells so I got rid of it before the rust was visible, and it had an idle issue, and 212,000 miles lol I’m actually planning to go look at a c5 targa top corvette this week so maybe I’ll be having fun again lol

Biggest thing for me would be the body. Check to see how bad the rockers are (might have to remove the sideskirt to see) and check the rear quarters. Those are the two biggest places for rust on these. Other than that I would do the typical inspection making sure nothing is rotting away, strut towers, frame etc. Check the seals along the targa. Every delsol leaks. If the owner tells you it doesn't leak he's lying. But it's about how bad it's leaking. So check the seals to make sure they're not completely gone. Check the trunk for moisture. These cars tend to gather water. Make sure it's nothing major. Other than that i can't think of anything off the top of my head. Feel free to DM me on Instagram with any other questions @scooch988. make sure the electric roof works also, they are actually pretty easy to fix and cheap just dont take it to honda if the transtop isnt working as they will bend you over.
I’m looking at getting this car in the uk (the b16 engine) and was just wondering if it is a quick car , I’m 19 and was in the market for something around 200bhp but I see this car and though the power to weight ratio would be sick? So that’s really my question, is this a fast car meaning can I overtake easily and smoke any normal car, in a responsible way of course...
By today's standards, no you won't be smoking anyone in this car unless it's a stock d series that you're going up against haha. However I want to emphasize the fact that this is an incredibly good platform for someone of your age, or anyone just getting into the car scene. It's easy to work on, the b series has a huge aftermarket platform. Endless turbo and supercharger kits if you want more horsepower. At the end of the day it's "quick" but you have to drive it like you stole it. I've driven and owned plenty of fast cars in my day, the DelSol is at the top as one of my favorites. It's a very raw driving experience that really connects the driver with the car. If you find a clean one I highly recommend getting it
Scooch tbh I was looking at getting a turbo kit in this and then a new after market exhaust, new coil overs and new aftermarket wheels, I was just thinking though the b16 being a 160bhp vtec engine in shouldn’t be slacking in the price bracket ofc, so surely it can beat a similar priced st, but I think I’m really wanting this just due to wanting to get into the jdm scene, like eventually I want a 350z... but for the price and insurance over here I can’t really find anything better, plus this car is just lovely looking once modded... but when I say quick I do mean it picking up speed quick on the motorway (highway) fast or beating the standard Vauxhall or bmw
@@kye9034 wouldn’t be buying a 2 seat old Honda for motorway but yes it would definitely keep up with modern cars! 160hp and weights next to nothing and revs out like no modern car will!

Stock engine yes, they made about 10,000 VTEC models in the US between 94 and 97 that came with the b16. This is one of them. Imsanely fun car to drive
@@jaybeck7362 I'm not sure where you're located but any time I need a replacement oem part I just go to Rock Auto.com. They got it all and they're very reasonably priced. But I also haven't had to do more than a radiator and tires on this car since I bought it. And I've had it for over a year. So I might not be the best person to ask haha

@@scooch988 Well on the stats they both look exactly the same as in Horse power, etc. except the A3 has a higher Redline! So you can rev it 200 more... Same engine as far as I can figure out...
@@MikeKollin so even though the redline is higher, it still revs to 8200. The guy who sold me this car has driven both. I asked him why they dropped the redline down when they made it, he said the engine still revs to 8200 but the redline only goes to 8. I'm not sure why Honda did this haha
@@voteholyk the Florida one I bought to swap my b16 into was a none VTEC, and I will say I was more impressed with the power delivery than I thought I would be, but the 1.6 really is the place to be. Super easy swap if you ever had the interest in doing it!

94 t 97, honda only brought 6100, delsol, with b16a3, or the b16a2, they a very rare.

This really makes me hate my 93 D15b7 with NO Vtec.... The 93 seems to be the rarest though even though it sold the most.
