It's actually very space saving if you look at it. Not apparent from the start but there's actually a lot more space than just having the stairs turn once. Classic Mita, always something fun to show us ❤
If you count the square space this makes no difference. It is visually creative, but does not change the usable area, it is just more costly.

Yeah, the glitchiness of TS4 is beyond annoying. 😅 So dumb they haven't fixed that bug yet after all this time. But that's EA for you, they'll rather sell you a half baked product than actually finishing and polishing it first. Lol --oh and charge you your life savings, your firstborn, and your left arm for it, of course. 😂

One tip about grammar from one non-native English speaker to another: if you want to refer to stairs in singular form, you just say "add a stair" instead of "add a stairs". Here is why: the "s" at the end of the word "stairs" indicates that it is plural, meaning more than one. "A" means one, so "a" and "stairs" can not be used together because the meanings contradict.
If you want to refer to any number of stairs, you could simply say "add stairs".
If you say "add stairs", people will know how many you mean by looking at the video.
You can also specify by number, like "add one stair", "add two stairs", or, more broadly, "add multiple/several stairs".
Most people will not give such advice, because it could be considered rude, and I know it is also a cultural thing whether to give unasked advice or not. I am German, and we tend to value honesty and directness. I view this as a service/kindness to someone rather than an insult. I do not mean this in a mean way at all, I just want to be helpful 💛

You know...I've been playing since day one. I was in middle school when The Sims launched and I used to think I was an expert builder. I thought I knew all the tools inside and out. Thought I knew all the tricks, but sadly when I watch these videos, I now know that I don't know anything 😂

I got this all set up, but my piano isn't functional like yours

When I do this, I run into issues with my doors. I had a split level with a staircase like this, and when I tried to place doors on the lower level of the home, they all wanted to be even with the staircase platform instead of the lower level height. :(
I tried this, but the rest of the floor keep moving with the new flatform I created.
You have to hit the little small arrows on the left of the little build menu that pops up and only the platform will move

But how did you get the piano to work without strictly using the grid?
Press alt while moving anything
Or f5 will move the grid in half quotes rather than full
How do you make the placing of things more precise? If it’s a cheat really wanna know it, cuz I’m sick of having to expand a house by twice its size just to be able to place an infants toy next to a tiny potted plant 💀
