If only they just used the coding for TS3 staircase railings for TS4. In TS3 you could place individual railings on stairs and not be forced to have railings on both sides.

I wish the developers added a useful trick like with the roofing trick. And we would be able to delete one side of the railings by holding shift. That would honestly solve the issue. Great trick though! You put effort into it that most of the community is too impatient to do and that just shows how passionate and patient you are.

What a great idea! But how are you able to select the biggest archway, when your walls are only medium height? If I try to do that, the game just won't let me...
I placed stairs in a basement recently. I had so much trouble. I never thought to turn on move objects. Maybe that would have helped. thanks for the video. I have a playlist of videos that I know I will need to refer back to. Many of yours are in that playlist.

I believe you can cover the little strip left with another arch! move the stairs out, place a wall where the remaining wall strip is (perpendicularly) and put an arch the same way done before. Put the stairs back, and I think that does it? of course, amazing technique! I hope a lot of builders use and credit you

I want to put a chandelier on the second floor above the open space, but it doenst let me. I can only place it on the parts where there is a floor underneath. Any tips?
To be able to use the tall door, you must have the walls at high hight, otherwise they tall frame will be grey (locked) at least one level must be "high" GL ^^
Can't you just use platforms? Wouldn't have the railing on the bottom set then and wouldn't have to have anything else covering up glitches either. Just a suggestion
Sims 3 railing looking at Sims 4 in disappointment. 👀 Can't believe these minor mechanics of placing singular railings isn't implemented in TS4. No, they prefer the railings clipping into walls and looking dreadful. Total downgrade. But that's TS4 for you. Lots of downgrades. lol

We need to petition the developers to change the stair issue so we don't have to use tricks and cheats.

I love sizing down doors or windows to hide walls. I also use the TOOL mod to shrink them until they're invisible. Great tips RG.

You can do it by creating an upper floor with high walls, and then changing it back to what you want. The high arch should stay there
I wish we could remove that center railing. Ugh, lol. I love making these types of stairs but that'd make it even more realistic.
Couldn't you just not use a railing at all? Then there wouldn't be a center railing, but also no side railings I suppose.

If you have trouble saying pedestal. Try saying (pet a stool) fast. I hope that helps.

Dunno if it's a glitch but if I close off the top of the stairs with a railing, my sims can't use it. Only when i remove it can they use it again

go to the second level when trying to place the light and activate the grind, (G on keyboard) will fix the problem 🙂

Nope, railing on both sides will be deleted even with shift pressed
