This show is one of the main reasons I’m studying to become a doctor right now
I loved Doc McStuffins as a child. My parent bought a Lammy plushie when I was very young and had a pretty bad fever. The plushie gave me so much hope and I got better a day or two afterwards. I have no idea where the plushie went, because I don't remember giving it away. Hopefully I can find her again one day.

Probably because this is a professionally done tv show for kids and not a web series that uses some well known teenagers for views😐 no shade, shade free zone
The advice about giving kids the lollipop, the sticker, or building repore before (for example) giving them a shot, is a great skill in a lot of fields, like when detectives are interrogating someone about a recent crime, and they don't want to or are too nervous to answer questions related to the crime, the detectives usually try to build repore with them like asking them about their interests or stuff thats going on in their life

Doc does all this good doctor stuff because she's seen her mother do the same things. Not only is she a great doctor, her mother is too. I love this show.
I had a doc mc stuffins book as a child and one of the toys was a bubble blower and the wrong fluid was put in so it got clogged and the diagnosis was "gunkatude" and now thats a phrase me and my mom have been using to describe being gunky ever since.

I used to watch this show every day before heading to school in the Hindi version 🇮🇳. Little did I know back then, the profound impact it had on my psychology and upbringing. Thank you for rekindling those memories and reminding me of the lasting influence of this and similar shows.

My first burn out, I was sleeping more than 14h/day for like 6 months. I was completely out of energy, couldn't read any more (because I would reach the end of one page and have no idea what I just read),...
The second burn out triggered my depression and anxiety a lot, and I'm still in therapy for this.

I‘m sorry for you Cecile and hope you are able to see a councelor, therapist or doctor. If not, breathing exercises, talking to a trusted person, trying to be understanding and compassionate towards yourself and writing about your mental state (journal etc.) should help at least a little bit, though I am not a licenced professional. Get well soon! :)

I am 11 and Mike is the one doctor I would actually go see at my own will. Every single time, I refused to go to the doctor, unless it was the dentist. To me, a doctor and dentist are to different things. I have a few more things to say. STUFFY IS A DRAGON. HE HAS WINGS. LITERAL WINGS. HE ISN'T A DINOSAUR. BRONTY IS THE DINOSAUR. Don't judge me. My 9-year-old has been wanting to be a doctor for many years now because of how much she's watched me struggle with doctors and specialists (I have osteoarthritis... and I'm 34☹), so she's always watching and listening when I go to the doctor, learning all of the tools, etc. She has the best mannerisms for it, too! I hope she sticks with it as she gets older.
What is osteoarthritis if you don’t mind me asking :(
@@Zamingloveyou I don't mind, of course :) Osteoarthritis wears away the cartilage in your knee joint, which eventually leads to lots of inflammation, pain, stiffness in the joints, and can develop bone spurs on the joints themselves. There's no cure for it, but if you can catch it in the early stages and receive treatment (usually physical therapy and/or injections) then it can slow the progression. I was a CNA and thought my inflammation and pain was coming from being on my feet all the time. In 2017, I was determined that my pain was a correlation to needing to lose weight and exercise, so I did that. I went to the gym, walked the trails (1 - 2 miles/day) and ate very, very healthy. This didn't help me, actually. It caused it to progress faster. By 2020, I was swelling, needed help getting up and down from seating, and by November 2021 I was sporing the "no expiry" handicap placard. By Jan 2022, I needed a cane. Which is where I'm at now. I have a lot of struggles, some days better than others and some days are excruciating. The docs say that they won't operate until I'm wheelchair bound and completely, and wholly, unable to walk bc knee replacements are only good for 10 years. I'm 35. It's a real mental f**k, too. Hits you hard when you're trying to will your body to do something, but it won't move and the pain is unbearable, taking your breath away. It sucks.

Just because your body has its limits does mean you should stop living I hope treatment goes very well. Have you thought about doing other things that involve medical work or at least helping out others without putting a lot of pain on yourself

Quite common when I have been practicing medicine (studying to become a doctor) that they us the lamp on the otocosope (the ear-thing) to look in the eye and moth as well. Not as looking through as you do in the ear, but using the strong lamp (since they don't have any other lamp at hand).

Can we just appreciate how Doc’s parents are letting her figure out the problem on her own rather than say “oh it just needs to charge” or something like that
Doc Mc Stuffins is one of the best kids shows ever, and this is only one of the many reasons why.
I mean, if your kid understands so much about being a doctor already and is only 6 or 7, I'd automatically assume they could figure out why a toy car isn't working on their own.
@karmasdoor I love thats her mother works as a doctor and brings in money and the father is a stay at home dad who cooks and cleans!
Yeah, it is great to see actually good parents in a kids show for once. Also the way the mother offers help is a great one. Offering a second oppinion is basically an encouraging way of saying "if you can't do it, I will help you, but you should first give it a shot!". I like those things being included in kids shows, as it teaches good parenting methods to the parents while the kids can enjoy the problem solving part of the show. I will take a look at 2 or 3 episodes myself, but this series is quite likely to be on my "watch with my children once they grew old enough" list.

I remember loving the show. Probably because my mom worked in the medical field (Ultrasound tech). Good to know it’s accurate.
