Love the walk from airport to downtown NY! such a pleasure way to see the world! Thanks for this wonderful experience! big thumb up and fans from Taiwan!
@ pacey cabalang, if your connecting flight is going to another state in the U.S., you have to go through immigration at a port-of-entry (the first airport you land at in the US).
It depends really on whether your flight arrives at the same time with many other international flights. In the UK, the early morning arrivals mean a congested passport control because of wide bodies coming from East Asia. That said, for flying from the Europe to the US, Aer Lingus is the way to go because it goes via DUB and you avoid the massive queue upon arrival in the US. You clear CBP at DUB and arrive as a domestic passenger.
@@kishankantelia9423, not too many flights to the US per se but by cordoning off a section for US flights, you will be reducing capacity for flights to everywhere, i.e. how could you utilise those gates during non-peak flight times to the US?
Thank you so much for your video ! I’ll go soon to NY alone and I’m a bit frightened by this airport… I just have one question : how do you know the place where your suitcases are ?
Thanks for watching. Don't be scared, everything will be alright as long as you have all the proper documents with you. Regarding your question, after immigration, at the baggage reclaim area, there are plenty of TV Monitor where flight number and airport origin is written with corresponding carousel or bagge belt number. Example is @ 4:10, there is a number 4 for the baggage carousel and on its right, there is a TV Monitor. Some Airlines also, announce after landing the number of baggage velt/carousel. I hope I was able to help you. Keep safe and enjoy your flight.

A lot of new airports around the world are becoming huge and require long distance walking to navigate it. We arrrived here two weeks ago, and while I sailed thru US immigration, my Thai wife got stuck on the non U.S. side for 2.5 hours after almost being awake for 30 hours door to door. There was ONE agent processing 000s of passengers! I complained bitterly to a supervisor, who said there is no funding and all the agents are on the borders instead. Disgraceful. Not the way immigrants should see our country at all.
Every country has their own problem when it comes to immigration and custom. I have high respect to those airport employees who are still doing their best, work honestly and dedicated to their profession despite of having these internal challenges.
You have to take the air train to Terminal C. The train will take you to the rental facility. Just follow the sign and you won't get lost. Take care and be careful with your belongings.
We will get your luggage right after the immigration @3:49 or passport control. @4:18 you will find a small screen/monitor that show the flight number and the corresponding belt/luggage carousel number e. g. 4 so you will not miss your bag.
Because of the long wait times to clear immigration, the bags are left standing openly in the luggage area, which is open to the public. Easy to walk off with a nice looking piece of first class luggage.
@@markraymond3577 oooppps not yet, there is still one more hurdle after the baggage claim. There is a randomly custom check but normally, very unlikely to happen not unless there is something suspicious in the luggage.

I have a question. When someone is departing from USA does workers check your passport with your boarding pass before boarding area (gates)? Why I am asking because in Canada for example workers don't care about your identification before boarding area (area for passengers only) they check only your boarding pass which is absolutely not right. They check your photo id with boarding pass only before boarding the airplane when you departing from Canada. I am just wondering whether in USA the same rules like in Canada or they check your documents twice? (Before boarding airplane it's mandatory rule worldwide I think to identify you) but I am wondering whether they check your identity in usa airports before allowing you to proceed to boarding area (gates) ?
Thank you for your question, in my video titles Departure Walk 4k Dulles International Airport @2:28 that is the first time they checked my passport, basically airport workers just check your boarding pass and passport. The second time they check the passport and boarding pass is before boarding. This scenario applies if you are travelling on an International flight.
